    That’s my philosophy every day.

    Good Evening TODVille!

My heart goes out to the parents of these young people.

There is no justice that can be done to this hateful man for taking the lives of these 3 beautiful and aspiring students.

May he be found guilty and thrown away forever in a single jail cell.

Every time I think about Deah, Yusor, and Razan, or see their pictures, my heart breaks again because they were so young. It makes your brain rattle and everything within you shake, that such wonderful full of potential life could be snuffed in the blink of an eye.

A parent should not have to bury his or her child. That is not the order of life; and my heart breaks for their parents who have had this horror visited upon them. I fervently hope the universe surrounds them with so much love and comfort and that their children rest in eternal peace.

Funny how the media interviewed the shooters girlfriend but not so much with the people that were close to the family.

Nerdy, this tribute is so beautiful, it’s hard for me to take it in without crying. How absolutely glorious the young bride looked on her wedding day with everything good and hopeful ahead of her and what good hearts and loving spirits they all had. The family and friends who speak of love and not delivering fire for fire are so far beyond the understanding of haters that they are truly living in a more evolved and humane world. Would that we all were! Thank you for keeping on through all the long hours of this day and giving us so much.

while most of america is kind & generous, it’s the dark ugly underbelly that is defining americans now for the rest of the world.

Nerdy, thank you for giving voice to this most heinous of hate crime. We are beyond stupid in this country allowing the gun fetish the NRA has created to feed the hatred and the hate becomes a murder.

Can’t watch after 2:41 minutes… moved to tears. Finally the media has started to interview friends and family of the people murdered.

Anyone find it interesting that the police new nothing about this festering feud that the shooters girlfriend claimed existed?

So out of the loop am I, I didn’t realize that another Republican presidential-candidate-in-training had taken a trip to London.
    ………………………………………….
Eventually, Republicans are really going to have to stop going to London.

When Mitt Romney went to the British capital, it was a disaster. When Bobby Jindal went to London, he became a laughingstock. When Chris Christie crossed the pond, he managed to stumble on vaccinations, of all things.

And so, when Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) arrived in London yesterday, there was a lingering fear: how exactly would he manage to screw this up? Now we know.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) on Wednesday dodged a question about whether he believes in evolution. Speaking at the Chatham House foreign policy think tank London, Walker was asked: “Are you comfortable with the idea of evolution? Do you believe in it?”

“For me, I am going to punt on that one as well,” he said. “That’s a question politicians shouldn’t be involved in one way or another. I am going to leave that up to you.

If you watch the video of the exchange, note that the interviewer prefaces the question by saying the issue is of particular interest when posed to “senior Republicans when they come to London.” The subtle – or perhaps not so subtle – implication is that the British just don’t know what to make of GOP extremism in the 21st century.

All this senseless murder sickens me and how the media taunts us to say you and your life does not matter. We tell you what to watch, whose life is important. What do you expect from a media who barely cares when 20 one year olds are murdered when the murderer is white. I pray that the couple rest in eternal peace together. Three beautiful lives cut down in their prime.

A toucan in Costa Rica which lost the upper part of its beak after being attacked by youths looks set to be fitted with a prosthetic replacement.

Four Costa Rican companies that have volunteered their help say they possess the skills to create a prosthesis for the injured bird.

They say they will use 3D printing to create the first prosthesis of this kind in the region.

In the US, prosthetic beaks have been created for an eagle and a penguin.

The male toucan, named Grecia after the area where it was found, was taken to an animal rescue centre in January.

Pictures of its mutilated beak caused outrage after they were circulated in Costa Rican newspapers and on social media.

A campaign to provide the bird with a prosthetic beak quickly raised thousands of dollars and a number of local companies offered their help.

on that beak, I’m outta here.

One will never know what will be said in the making of the words and/or deeds in front of that little “-” placed between those two set of numbers that brought one into this world and will carry one out of this world. Live those times between that ” dash” on either side of those eight numbers with great care and grace. Amen. May love rest within our souls tonight in the midst of such sorrowful space within our world.

Thanks for this page, Nerdy W. Your deeds of grace and love shall carry our hearts with a measure of love for the hours and days to come.
Good Night/Morning to my TOD family.HZ

Recently watched a documentaryabout him on PBS – fascinating. He was so precocious as a child that he once (I think he was around six years old) sat on a goose egg for six hours, to see if it would hatch. (I remembered that part because of my little precocious great grandson, I admit it!)

That curiosity and interest in exploring the world around him as a child (and the adults in his life nurturing that in him or at least not stifling it) led to him becoming the scientist we all know now.
