I tried listening to CNN and MSNBC pundits talking about POTUS speech, but I could not take it. It was as usual their know it all B.S. and attacking POTUS. I had to turn it. I also email CNN because of their new poll which says Americans want American troops sent to Syria and Iraq to fight ISIS. Like I have said before, if Americans in your poll want troops sent over there then why don’t those Americans put on the uniform and boots and they go fight ISIS. I am not in favor of sending American troops over there. No way!!!!!!!! That is what I told CNN.

Annieb, don’t let them get to you. I spent the time leading up to now watching the game between the Panthers and the Saints and it was a good, no GREAT game! Cam & the Panthers are now 12 & O. They beat the Saints, 41 v 38

I will not listen to those piece of crap cable pundits. I think some of them wanted POTUS to say that he was sending troops over there to Syria. Another war would please them.

Thank you President Obama for what you are and what you do and what you say. No ground war to eat up our young people.

I have complete trust in this man. The only other two men I had complete trust in were my father and my husband. That’s enough for one life time, I think, and we’re so fortunate to have PBO right now. One of the things my husband said during his last week in life was: “President Obama is still president?” I answered “Yes, he is honey.” And he smiled.

Carolyn, your husband was a wise and wonderful man and your love for him has made most of us love him, too. I agree with you about having complete trust in our President. He embodies the best that is America and makes me proud of this country, despite the truly dark and ugly underside that’s been so evident in recent years.

A spacecraft carrying much-needed US supplies blasted off toward the International Space Station for the first time in months on Sunday.

The Atlas 5 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station after three days of delays due to poor weather.

The Cygnus capsule, expected to arrive on Wednesday, will be the first US shipment to the station since April.

Supplies at the station are running low due to several failed delivery runs and botched rocket launches.

The capsule carries more than 3,500kg (7,700lb) of food, clothing, computer gear, spacewalk equipment, science experiments and other supplies.

The station currently only has four months’ food supply aboard. Nasa aims to keep the supply cushion at six months.

    I love my President!

Just got home and listened to the speech. We are so lucky this man is in charge at this time in history.

And that dress on FLOTUS! I think she’s outdone herself. That needs to be front-paged for sure!

Looking forward to the KCH. I think Stephen Colbert is the host again this year.

    Get Well Soon Chips!

Here is that Dark Chocolate with Ghost Pepper Chocolate Ganache cake that you wanted 🙂 Hope it heals you! Take Care and bundle up better when you take Danny out for a stroll!

    • December 6, 2015 at 9:17 pm

Ah, you lovely, lovely person, MadameSoph!!! Confession: I think this blasted cold was picked up when I didn’t change out of soaking clothes soon enough after walking the Danster the other day. I always thought that was silliness, that wet clothes could give you a cold ….. I will NEVER dispute the theory again!!! 🙂

      • 126 MadameSoph
        December 6, 2015 at 9:33 pm

I know that it can be argued that a virus causes the cold and the rest is wives tales, but the stress of staying in cold, wet clothing can lower your resistance to an infection you might have been able to fight off otherwise. Here is the scientific abstract:

        (Translation: What I said above 🙂 )

“Neurotransmitters and neuroendocrine hormones can modify the functioning of immune cells and conversely cytokines produced by immune cells can alter brain homeostasis. This connection is further manifested by experimental studies showing a relationship between stress and resistance to infection. Human subjects with a high stress index were shown to be more susceptible to infection with common cold viruses. Furthermore, a diversity of experimental animal paradigms show that laboratory stressors such as forced exercise, avoidance learning, restraint, isolation, and cold exposure make animals more susceptible to primary infection with a variety of viruses and bacteria. The cellular and molecular basis for the observed modulation of host resistance is not fully understood but involves altered functioning of both T lymphocytes and cells of the hypothalamic-pituitary adrenal axis. Also involved is the altered production of cytokines and hormones produced by the immune system and brain.”

        http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8340778

        • December 6, 2015 at 9:39 pm

Madame Soph, I am totally going to pretend I could understand all that! But it’s true, I completely thought the wet clothes thing was an old wives’ tale, and always smiled when my Ma said ‘YOU’LL GET YOUR DEATH OF COLD’ when I didn’t change quickly enough.

The moral of the story: I will NEVER mock an old wives’ tale again!!

            December 6, 2015 at 9:51 pm

The other side of the ‘old wives’ tale is to get plenty of rest and pamper yourself with honeyed hot tea and nourishing soup. Hope you’re taking good care of yourself, Chips.

          December 6, 2015 at 9:48 pm

Wow, MadameSoph, I’m impressed you know what this article says. I guess if you let yourself get over stressed, run down, or exposed to too much inclement weather, you’re susceptible to infection. Explains why I’ve always come down with something in December when my stress level goes into high alert.
