“i don’t miss my shots in the fourth quarter”

(Thanks ChristiMtl)

ABC: If his campaign for a second term is like a basketball game, President Obama says it’s nearing halftime, he’s down on the scoreboard, and facing a full court press.

Obama told a crowd of campaign donors, including a mix of past and present NBA stars, in Florida tonight that “this is like the second quarter, maybe the third. And we’ve still got a lot of work to do.”

“But I want everyone to know I’m a fourth-quarter player,” he said. “I don’t miss my shots in the fourth quarter.”

Obama spoke at the glitzy Lake Mary, Fla., home of attorney John Morgan, one of his top volunteer fundraisers, or bundlers, where around 100 guests paid at least $1,500 to see the president speak. Proceeds flowed to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint account between the Obama Campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

NBA all-star Grant Hill, Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard and Phoenix Suns guard Vince Carter were among the pro basketball players in attendance, according to press pool reports.  The official invitation for the event also listed ex-NBA great Patrick Ewing as a co-host.

“So as long as we’ve got a strong team and everybody’s engaged and involved, we’re not just going to win this election,” Obama said. “We are going to win this election and then we are going to make sure that we rebuild this country.”

Hahaha Me4Obama. Dwight Howard is a tall glass of fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!!!!!! His ESPN body issue where athletes are photographed in the nude was HOT! HOT! HOT!. I’ve also got my eye on Blake Griffin. He’s another tall drink of handsome and the preview of his ESPN body issue was muy caliente! 😉

Thanks for the video Christi. Press On PBO. Press On. We’re 1000% behind you.

    Thanks Christi!!

After watching the video of FLOTUS talking about Target and PetCo, anyone want to bet if Romney gets the nomination, he will send his wife to Walmart? :–)

Might search out some of those basketball videos today. He really, truly does make the shots when the pressure is on!

Two top headlines in my email box this morning:

    “Romney Prospers In Republican Debate”
“Obama Loses Big on Jobs Bill”

Both are basically completely the opposite. Wait until PRESIDENT Obama starts putting piece by piece through. He of course anticipated this very likely outcome, as he’s done over and over. It’s always Opposite World in the MegaMedia and Repub worlds!

Absolutely Bonkers. I can’t wait for him to get in full blown campaign mode and present evidence after evidence of how the repubs are obstructionists and a vote for them in 2012 will be a vote for destructive policies to once again take root and destroy the economy. Watching Morning Joe, one would think Romney was a genius in the republican debate and was indeed top class presidential material. It’s such a crock. He simply managed not to come off as worse as the other clowns. Doesn’t make him a genius. Let him go against a proven leader and achiever – PBO – and he’ll look like subpar individual he is. On the other hand, the press conference PBO had when he pointed out masterfully why he’s running against a do nothing congress was seen as a failure by Joe Scarborough of Morning Joe. The media really does live in opposite world.

If the R’s had somebody with even the tiniest fraction of PBO’s star power, they’d be jumping with joy. This election is going to be a lollapalooza. I just love to see the president on fire and fighting the Rs. Even the truly execrable racist and right winger, Michelle Malkin, said that President Obama won the R debate last night and he didn’t even have to be there. I wish every R debate would see a big boost in the president’s fundraising. I’m inspired to give again today.

yes President Obama, those of us who have watched you will unequivocal dedication know that you are indeeed what you said. “But I want everyone to know I’m a fourth-quarter player,” he said. “I don’t miss my shots in the fourth quarter.”

I am with you President Obama until and after the last minutes of this election cycle. I am Team Obama and I am Proud of it!

I believe him—that he’s a 4th quarter player and he doesn’t miss his shots in the 4th quarter. We have seen him always rise to the occasion, especially at difficult times, and succeed splendidly. My money’s on this guy.

And that is why the MSM and PL get sooo upset with him. Remember with Hillary they kept complaining he wasn’t fighting back and he would never win the election?? He always comes through in the 4th.

OT-I just visited Jon Tester’s Facebook Page and he is taking a beaten in the comment section over there. I just don’t get these Conservadems. I understand that they have to at times vote the way of their constituents but that man has 7.8% unemployment in his State and the country is behind this bill. Even Repubs want the AJA to pass. He is a fool if he thinks that Conservatives will reward him with re-election because he voted against this bill. The only hope he has at re-election in these partisan times is to get every Dem vote you can and impress the independents in your state and hope to get a few Repub votes to get you over the finish line in first place. Alienating your base in a state that trends conservative is just plain crazy. Did these people not learn anything from Blanche Lincoln last year? I don’t think he anticipated the backlash he was going to get. It will be interesting to see how he votes going forward with this bill.

I’m glad of this. And if most of the grief is coming from the people of Montana then let it serve as a warning going forward.

What worries me about breaking up the bill is that these cowards end up voting for the popular stuff, and leaving out the tough stuff that takes guts. When it’s all bundled together, then it’s more likely that all the necessary components will go through together. When broken up, they’ll vote for infrastructure spending and vets benefits, but won’t want to vote for increased taxes – trying to have their cake and eat it, too. The President said we need big, bold solutions to solve these huge problems. These GOP and Conservadems just proved that they’re not capable of making those hard decisions to help the people in this country and deal with the backlash. Pretty sad.

I didn’t watch the debate, but from the summaries, it sounds like they all decided that government shouldn’t try to help the American people in times of crisis – only banks. I can’t believe that any thinking person who works for a living will vote for Republicans.

      • October 12, 2011 at 2:48 pm

The Super Committee imo is going to make up their minds for them when it comes to tax increases. Either that or the hammer comes down on Defense and providers and that’s the last thing they want. .

I haven’t been able to get thru to Tester’s office. The phone is so busy. There is to be a demostration outside his office here shortly. I will be attending. I can tell you there is alot of anger among the Dems here. Local blogs are heated up. I will tell you Rehberg is really scary. He is the Repub who is running against Tester. I’ll let you know what is happening. A rumor is to have Schweitzer run for Senator. I don’t think that will happen. I’ll keep you informed.

A Syrian-born U.S. citizen was indicted Wednesday for spying on American activists who are opposed to President Bashar Assad’s regime, and providing information to Syria’s intelligence agencies.

Mohamad Anas Haitham Soueid, a resident of Leesburg, Va., has been indicted by the Department of Justice for conspiring to collect information on individuals in the U.S. and Syria who were protesting Assad’s regime, the Justice Department said in an announcement.

(WZZM) – Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has a new job: Talk show host.

Current TV is announcing today that The War Room with Jennifer Granholm will premier in January and will air at 9:00pm following Countdown with Keith Olberman.

Current TV was co-founded and is currently chaired by Al Gore.  The show will be produced live at the network’s headquarters in San Francisco.

“The War Room with Jennifer Granholm is at the core of Current TV’s strategy to be a trusted resource for intelligent and compelling commentary during what is sure to be a critically important election year with many complicated and emotional issues,” said Gore in a press release.

Hmmm…..interesting. Well Gov. Granholm has been a staunch supporter of President Obama whenever she makes appearances on MSNBC, NBC, CBS, or any of the Sunday Morning talk shows. So I wish her gooduck and I’ll be in the wait and see corner before I make any judgements.

Ditto. Saw her on Bill Maher recently, and I think she was keeping up with her high ideals and support for President Obama on his show.

I love the way PBO is setting this up – he’s not only got to win his own re-election, he knows he needs a PROGRESSIVE ARMY to have his back.

Shame that getting the Left together is akin to herding cats most of the time.

Well, Mr. President, EVERYONE HERE HAS GOT YOUR BACK!

*Obama spoke at the glitzy Lake Mary, Fla., home of attorney John Morgan, one of his top volunteer fundraisers, or bundlers*

Ha! I used to live in Lake Mary – were I still there, I would have tried to run along with the motorcade!

This is the first I’ve heard John Morgan is a big-time fundraiser for PBO. He is very well known in the Orlando area as a personal injury attorney, mostly because his commercials run, annoyingly, NON STOP, on TV. I moved but if I ever see him on the teevee again, I’ll smile knowing he recognizes real class (President Obama) when he sees it!

Here’s a meaningless little Cdn. post my offspring showed me. It talks about some polling numbers, just DON’T read the comments.
