President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama visited Restaurant Eve in Old Town Alexandria for an early celebration of their wedding anniversary tonight. I haven’t seen any photos yet, hopefully they got some privacy – those photographers have to be infuriating, and the blogs that post their pics 😕

Congratulations to two very blessed individuals. Blessed because they found each other, and love manifested into a life of family and friends who they care about and who their friends (us included) care about. Two beautiful healthy daughters and a support network out of this world. Funny, I don’t envy Michelle, but I truly admire her and all of her favor from God. Michelle appears to be a good steward of all of God’s blessings. Through good times and bad they have weathered the storms and sun and are coming out the real winners. Watching the retirement speech of the joint chief of staff recently, General Mullen(?), when he blew a kiss to his wife it didn’t seem at all out of place or unnatural. [Unlike when Bill C was mouthing ‘I Love You’ to HRC during the 2008 campaign while she was giving a speech.]

Words can not express how much I adore and admire the Obama’s not just because of their position as President and First Lady but because of who they are as people and because of the true and unabashed love they obviously have for each other, for their precious children and for America (and the world). We are SO blessed that they are in the White House and are an example to us all.
My husband and I celebrated our 13th anniversary exactly a week before POTUS and FLOTUS and we are still as much in love as we ever were.

The look on both their faces say, “We’re in total bliss.” In fact, Obama’s own body language reflects the imagery he creates when describing his wedding day in the epilogue of his book “Dreams From My Father” (CD version of the book). Surrounded for the first time by both sides of his family–his mother’s family from America and his father’s family from Africa–made him feel like “the luckiest man in the world.”
there must have been an agreement to not take ANY photos of last evening’s anniversary outing of the First Couple. the blackout appears to be effective because I have not seen any photos or video of the evening – and this is just what President Obama said he longed to have for just that one night
