next stop warsaw

President Obama, changing planes in Paris on his way to Poland, walked past a pool of reporters before boarding Air Force One Friday afternoon and had a few words for them.

“How are you guys holding up?” he asked, grinning, the pool reports.

He then held up his finger and said, “One more day!”.

Listening to NPR right now, and a news analysis says PBO’s speech in Ireland was pitch perfect. That the Irish wanted to hear the message “Yes We Can”. Says he was in Ollie’s bar with the President, and the Irish just loved him. They hated Bush. Also says PBO wrote the wrong year in the book at Westminster Abbey, but other than that, the trip was just what PBO ordered.

OOOH HOW SWEET…AS FOR THE ‘WRONG YEAR’…I LOVE DOING THAT IN MY CHECKBOOK!…SENIOR MOMENTS. THE WAY HE IS ON THE RUN ALL THE TIME…I’M SURPRISED HE REMEMBERS WHAT COUNTRY HE’S IN! ALL THE PEOPLE LOVED HIS VISIT. WHEN I FIRST SAW HIM BEFORE I STARTED WORKING THE 08’ CAMPAIGN…I KNEW THEN THAT HE WAS A ‘VERY SPECIAL’ MAN! I LOVE HIM WITH A PASSION! FIRST GOD! THEN THE PREZ! I ALWAYS PUT GOD FIRST IN WHATEVER I DO.

That “wrong date” in the book is gonna make that book even more valuable and treasured.

I know. I felt that he dated the Westminister Abbey book 24th May, 2008 b/c he’s in election mode. He’s in a fighting state of mind.

I know that any airplane that carries the President of the United States has the call sign of “Air Force One” but does anyone know why President Obama needed to ‘change planes’? And why does the one he is boarding have the presidential seal on the door, but isn’t the usual blue and white Boeing 747 with ‘United States of America” on the side?

  6. May 27, 2011 at 11:42 am

I don’t know about changing planes but the aircraft in the background is indeed air force one which has the tail sign numbers 28000. There are two 747 which the president uses. There are also additional aircraft maintained by the USAF (US AIR FORCE) for the VP and Secretary of state and other government use (smaller)

The position of the photograph[h does not allow you to see the United States of America embossed on the fuselage.

The seal is also on the doors, perhaps you never noticed it before. 🙂

Team, yeah, I noted the presidential seal and knew that there’s more than one plane with the USA insignia. Thanks for the pictures; I think it was the angle of this particular photo that made it look like he was boarding a basic white aircraft.

And now that I see that the one of the choices is a smaller aircraft, maybe he was changing planes because his landing location couldn’t handle the BOEING 747 big jets.

I imagine he is alittle tired too. There ain’t nothing like sleeping in your own bed. Plus I imagine he is ready to see Sasha and Malia. Have a safe trip to Poland Mr. President and back home.

thnx for posting links. Aww, I see a big security van hiding the official greeting from the view of well wishers. I feel bad for them, they that must have waited so long. Bad enough he doesn’t get an opportunity to say hi to them but they couldn’t even see him after he jogged down the steps. I guess security is even more tight for this last leg of the trip.

How nice of our President to ask the pool reporters how they are holding up. It must be a grueling trip for them too! He is such a nice human being! Safe travels Mr. President!
