‘obama has shown the world why it fell in love with him’

Matthew Norman (The UK Independent): He is not the Messiah, but he deserves to sleep easy in his bed, and leave the 3am angst to malevolent midgets like Donald Trump who will never trouble him again

…Obama is said to be a strong player in the tight-aggressive style, which means that he doesn’t play a lot of hands or bluff much; but that when the potential return justifies the risk, he isn’t scared to push all his chips in … This is what he did in Abbottabad…

He bet the lot – his presidency, re-election chances, and place in history … had it gone wrong, Obama would by now have been measured up for the Jimmy Carter One Term Memorial Shroud…

It did not go wrong, and so he finally became the President of the United States of America, rather than President of That Chunk Of America That Doesn’t Regard A Black Man In The Oval Office As The Cleaner Or An Imposter.

… Obama did more than quell the screechings of the wingnuts, chat-show rabble-rousers, the Birthers and those we should term the Placentas (the After-Birthers who have now progressed to post-certificate conspiracy theories to question his legitimacy). He reminded the world why it fell in love with him in the first place.

…People have criticised him for being “professorial” as well as arrogant. They will do so no longer. He pondered for months, studied the research, weighed up the evidence, and reached the right conclusion. This is one cool, tough prof, and the lesson he has taught by example won’t quickly be unlearnt. In asymmetric warfare against a stateless enemy, invading sovereign states and slaughtering civilians is not the way to go. You don’t punish the guilty by killing the innocent. You do so by killing the guilty.

….Let no one hear attempts to share Obama’s credit with Dubya without revulsion. He failed pitifully in this, as in almost every thing else … Obama hasn’t honoured on every promise, nor will. He is not the Messiah, although if the Kool Aid truck has redelivered at last, make mine an octuple. For tempering vengeance with mercy, by refusing to reckon countless civilian lives a price worth paying to safeguard himself, hedeserves to sleep easy in his bed, and leave all the sweaty 3am angst to Donald Trump and the other malevolent midgets who will never trouble him again.

Yes, indeed, he deserves to sleep very well. And, because he is our President, the rest of us can sleep well, also. Well said Matthew Norman!

I’m happy to see glowing reports from outside of the USA. Maybe the US reporters will catch up. (sigh)

      I totally agree!

The way this article is written you would not think it is a non-POC but that just emphasizes how entrenched racism is in the AMERICAN psyche!! People all over the world can see how POTUS’s brilliance shines blazingly bright just not those who grow up in our color biased society.

Norman’s descriptors of ‘tight-aggresive’ style, placentas, not punishing the guilty by killing the innocent and tempering vengeance with mercy all won my heart as they are truly incisive and aptly so.

The world sees President Obama’s greatness…but I just gotta say one thing Dorothy in a completely American way…how come it takes
execution of warfare to demonstrate that President Obama has the biggest dyck with the most SUSTAINED stamina in the world,eh? How come that was not evident based on allll the other shyt (stimulus, healthcare, LedBetter) he has done superbly. What is wrong with America that the only way it can convince ‘wing nuts and the conservative independents’ is by whipping out the long dong silver?! What is UP with that?

This is the baaaaadest ass POTUS this nation has EVA seen!! And he has demonstrated that ova and ova and ova.

      SHAFT!!

I am waiting to see what Eugene Robinson(WAPO) writes…bet he nor Cynthia of AJC will top Norman !

ok – I probably would express this differently, but my sentiments exactly! 🙂 This one act hasn’t proven to the world why we fell in love with President Obama, everything he’s done has proven it over and over, starting with saving the world from global depression. This is just one more great thing done by a simply awesome man.

Considering he and Michelle weren’t invited to that wedding, well Charles ain’t invited to the White House. Just kidding, I guess????

If Bush-Cheney had the same intelligence information in August of a mid-term election year where they were expected to get clobbered, they would have scrambled the bombers before they analyst could finish the sentence. This President took it on the chin in November and regardless of what happens in November of next year, I’m sure he wouldn’t change a thing.
    God Bless our President!

This writer states what those of us here have always known; we have been steadfast in our love, trust, admiration, respect and support for President Obama. It is nice to see others are finally seeing it as well. However, it is unfortunate that so many think heroism only comes with weapons and death.

AT THE CORE OF THE PRESIDENT’S SOUL IS A MATCHLESS COMPARISON THAT IS BUILT AROUND THIS PRESIDENT’S EARNEST LOVE AND COMPASSION FOR ALL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. THIS IS HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS…IT CAN’T BE PHOTO COPIED AT KINKOS…FAKED OR PLAYED LIKE A GAME OF CHESS. IT’S HONEST,FORTHRIGHT AND WE ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE HIM AS THE LEADER OF THIS COUNTRY. HE IS NOT THE MESSIAH…BUT HIS BELIEF SYSTEM IS INDEED FILLED WITH GRACE!

Repugs make Bush look even more incompetent by insisting that info leading to bin laden’s demise was uncovered in 2002. Why in 6 years following were they unable to connect the dot. it is sad to see them just finding ways to not applaud President Obama for a job well done.

“make Bush look even more incompetent”

Hahaha….they are so dumb they don’t even realize, or atleast have not caught on yet, that they are burying the joker with each passing day. That’s right, rethugs, keep on talkin and showing us you never wanted to capture him, just drum up the overreach in Iraq. Can’t wait for the realization….somebody, someday will announce that they have trumped themselves by all the pandering of the loser that was Bush.

Good Morning Chipsticks and Family! So happy to say ‘hi’ before rushing out for a few hours. This will be another good day, I’m sure, so make the most of whatever comes your way! 🙂

To further highlight how awesome this President is, look at this article which compares what the President’s ‘regular’ duties were WHILE he was planning this mission. Talk about chewing gum, tying his shoes and slapping a fly all at the same time! No campaign suspension for our guy!

There is one question, about this incident, which I find puzzling and that regards the ‘treasure trove’ of information that supposedly was confiscated. The computers, hard drives, discs, etc. Collecting those kind of items seems inconsistent with the fact there were no phone/TV/Cable lines to this residence. How would those things be operable without some type of access? I do recall from the photos of the compound seeing something that appeared to be like satelite dishes. But those seem to make the compound even more vulnerable to intercepted messages than a phone or cable line would. Does anyone else find this bit of infomation confounding?

That type of inconsistency is what always made me have reasonable doubt about OJ. With OJ it was the microscopic blood drops being the only blood evidence after supposedly slashing not one but two jugulars? Which we know pump out huge quantities of blood with great arterial force, yet only microscopic drops were found? Never could make sense of that as the timeline did not allow for cleaning up ergo there should have been lots and lots of blood evidence not some microscopic drops.

The same goes for these ‘treasure trove’ of evidence. No lines but lots of computers and hard drives? hmmmmm

I would think that the couriers were used for passing along CDs and DVDs from one person to another. We use disks for storage of huge volumes of documents, video depositions, etc. all the time.

Good article. Sadly, the roving [pun intended] band of letter-writers appear to have either taken a walk from Redstate or have orange footprints. Hillary is emerging as the hero who had to strongarm the President… really? The people writing the nonsense wouldn’t see the irony of repeating their perennial complaints about the weak black man. Staying classy, they are.

      Sounds like more PUMA nonsense!

Anyone looking at the situation room pic would have a hard time believing she was a hero. The look of OMG on her face vs. the death stare of BHO should put all that gobblygook nonsense to rest.

Besides, several reports have stated she was on the bomb the compound team vs. surgical strike which took far more guts.
