Big day in Knoxville today. We’ve had a female Democratic Mayor for 8 years. Today our new mayor and vice mayor were inaugurated. They are both female and both Dems. Also new city council sworn in and 7 out of 9 members are female. It’s also majority a Dem/progressive council. Pretty exciting. A spot of blue in this red area. 💙💙

Ever since Kamala dropped out this question has been running around my mind so I decided to ask about it as I didn’t know if it was possible or not at this level. I got an answer too. 🙂

It’s not really feasible for Kamala to be a write-in candidate and score any major win. She really has a strong following but a national election is a constant slog and her staff have gone on to work for other campaigns. So there’s no major backing for her except for the KHive.
Yea, I got that from April’s response, and now from your extended explanation. Thanks. Hopefully now I won’t wake in the middle of the night with that thought running through my head. 😉 That’s the most frustrating thing about how my mind works when I’m supposed to be sleeping. If I don’t find a possible answer for whatever is plaguing me it keeps on during my sleeping hours. It’s for this very reason that I generally have to iron my work clothes for the week on the weekend, instead of lying there wondering *what* I’m going to wear should I be called in! :eyeroll:
I’ve noticed increased tweeting about the hope that if Biden were to win the nomination that he would choose Kamala Harris as a VP. But a couple of weeks ago he was asked about possible VP picks and his first response was Jeanne Shaheen. She’s a good person but that really leads me to believe he’s going for safest of safe white bread. It’s obviously his choice to make about who he will feel most comfortable with but it sure feels like an obvious mistake.
The other person he named is Maggie Hassen. So super safe and mediocre.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that if he gets the nomination, he’d definitely ask Kamala Harris to run as his VP.
Truthfully, I find the fact she’s been “super quiet” since she suspended from the race to mean that she’s leaving herself open to this.
Call me crazy, but that’s my hope.
Mom’s been in a hospital bed for 3 wks now. Looks like she’ll still be here on Christmas Day so we’ll be munching out here by her side. 🌲

Thanks Dear! She’s getting better. A disk is pressing on a nerve that causes pain from her hip down her leg. Pain meds, steroids and physical therapy are the plan. Hopefully that’ll work cuz she isn’t gonna agree to surgery after her friend with the same symptoms had surgery and ended up paralyzed. We moved her to rehab to help her get strong enough to walk again. Slow and steady progress.
