On the gop strategy of declaring victory before the results are in + using rabid media to parrot it as if true.
Flash back to 2000 and the Florida election scam:
“Republicans count on the national media to quickly repeat their conclusion. … That allowed Republicans to insist Bush had won, even after legal challenges to restrictive Florida voting laws and paid GOP protesters pressured officials in Miami-Dade County to halt their recount. When serious concerns emerge about the results, Republicans stand by the initial declaration of victory. Meanwhile, [they] charge that Democrats are being “sore losers” by asking legitimate questions about what is going on. The GOP then tries to force an ending to the controversy by running out the clock.” (Historian Julian Zelizer)

“This past week showed that strategy working pretty well at first and then starting to lose strength as the Democrats fought back and the media began to look more closely at what they actually knew. The pressure grew enough that Barr felt the need to release another letter late in the week attempting some damage control.”

  10. April 3, 2019 at 12:19 pm

Happening. Cities and States are Modeling what a Green New Deal could look like: “In February, Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) introduced the Green New Deal resolution, a blueprint for overhauling the entire U.S. economy and transitioning to emissions-neutral energy sources within a decade.”
“As of March, at least 19 states are considering or have already set 100 percent clean or renewable electricity targets, according to EQ Research, a policy group that works on issues like energy efficiency and renewables. Not all of those efforts resemble the full spectrum of changes called for under the Green New Deal, however, as they focus predominately on electricity goals. But several of the plans incorporate language about jobs and social justice, with some directly referencing the Green New Deal as a source of inspiration. That’s significant because, without federal support, ground-up implementation could be how the Green New Deal ultimately becomes a reality. Ambitious energy targets alone are notable in several areas. Hawaii and California have enacted legislation to hit a 100 percent clean or renewable electricity target by 2045, while Washington, D.C., is aiming for 2032. And already this year, 10 more states have followed suit, introducing their own legislation to reach a clean electricity standard by 2050 or earlier.”
    https://thinkprogress.org/cities-states-green-new-deal-ocasio-cortez-b87147b4b47d/
-Speed of the essence, smaller scale easier to implement.

Um I see you Huffington Post going out on a limb to make instant assumptions and demands, showing your true colors.
    1) Anytime I’ve seen VP Biden on screen he is very personable with everybody = Everybody.
    2) Yes the media response to guys who treat women like old shoes is long overdue.
    3) Joe is the opposite of those guys.
    4) Yes this could mean being less personable in politics in the current nasty Trump culture.
    5) But you understand that EVERY guy running against Trump is at risk of him using this kind of attack.
    6) Trump = Over 20 accusations of assault + underage rape, philanderer, self-confessed sexual predator, and ‘brutal’ Roy Cohn copycat strategist.
Huffpo: Instead please focus on stopping the faker and insane would-be dictator in the WH who is treating thousands of fleeing males and females of all ages in American jails like objects of his wrath and disgust. Like worthless slaughterhouse fodder. Can you do that?

Many young women are going to extremes these days. I say this as one of my daughters just told me she is not voting for Biden due to his inappropriate touching complaint against him. That she believes the women. I am gathering my info before countering her thoughts. There is a definite difference between people that touch your shoulder or arm while speaking to you or hugging you while talking to you to show their support than a person that gropes, touches in a sexual manner or rapes women and under age women. I know I actually appreciated people that would hug me or touch my arm or shoulder after my husband had died and I so missed the sense of touch in my life. Besides look at Biden’s record of sponsoring bills championing women’s issues. Instead of immediately believing what you hear look at the information carefully. Is that in their general character or part of their history? Does it meet the indecent criteria? Is there a reason someone would profit from the accused person being accused? Like I said I am gathering my info, but wonder if his age and being in office for so many years might give him a hard time anyway.

    Trouble at mill yesterday.
    1. “The day started bad when the House Judiciary Committee voted to authorize a subpoena of the Mueller report.
    2. The committee also voted to subpoena five top Trump White House aides who have direct knowledge of the president’s obstruction of justice.
    3. Members of Mueller’s special counsel team, who helped him write the 400 page report, began leaking that the report is actually rather bad for Trump, and that Attorney General William Barr had grossly misrepresented what the report says.
    4. In what appears to be a coordinated effort by House Democrats, the House Ways and Means Committee formally requested that the IRS turn over Donald Trump’s tax returns within seven days.
    5. The Miami Herald also reported that the FBI has secretly been running a counterintelligence probe for some time now into what Chinese operatives and other foreign spies have been doing at Mar-a-Lago.
    6. Also yesterday, the House Oversight Committee issued subpoenas in Trump’s White House security clearance scandal.
    7. It was revealed that Jared Kushner was given a White House security clearance by Trump even though he poses a clear national security risk.”
    https://www.politicususa.com/2019/04/04/attacks-from-every-direction-will-soon-bring-down-the-trump-presidency.html

    • April 4, 2019 at 10:24 am

“It is clear that his attempt to bury the Mueller report has failed, so the report and its underlying evidence will eventually come out. Soon we will find out what he’s been so desperately hiding in his tax returns. We’ll soon discover what caused Trump’s top advisers and family members to be rejected for security clearances. We’ll also find out how he has let spies into Mar-a-Lago, and continually threatened U.S. national security.” (Leo Vidal)
