The answer the democrats demanded by the end of this weekend by comey?
It’s a warrant for Huma phone or server?

    That’s the answer from comey?
    A warrant? 😩😩😩

Hi folks, it’s me, and I know that I’m way, way, waaaay late with my little ‘responsibility’ here in the village. No firing me please, tho I was/am out gallivanting! 😀 😀 😀

Here it is at last – last week’s @Interior recap!

      October 30, 2016 at 8:30 pm

No, it isn’t all about bats (which terrify me)! They only mentioned them near the end – lots of other *positive* (can you see my bias?) mentions, including Pres O again. 😉 Were I to review each week’s recap for the past year, it wouldn’t surprise me to discover President Obama got a mention each week. 🙂 🙂

Thanks for letting us know because I would have skipped it. Even the little about bats at the end grossed me out. While I know intellectually that they are nothing like the myths, the ick factor is still too much for me.
Thanks for posting these, they always life me up.

GM CEB, finding out they have their purpose does not alleviate my fear of them at all, at all. I have visions/memories of them flying at you and I just cannot see any redeeming qualities. Not that I’ve ever read/researched them. A simple mention of their name as them being nearby is enough to get me scrambling. My mom dislikes them too so maybe I inherited my bat-phobia?

      • October 31, 2016 at 10:15 am

I actually have a soft spot for bats. When I taught first grade we did a bat unit and had someone from Bat Conservation International come and talk to the children each year. He brought an assortment of bats with him. They are very cute in person! Also they eat mosquitos, which puts them in the plus column for me anyway.

We’re allowed to file absentee ballots in Illinois, without having to “prove” you’ll be absent. It was definitely stress free! Plus the local Democrats sent a separate reminder “cheat sheet,” this month, which made it easier to spot the Democrats on the ballot (although this one seemed a lot shorter than the last one!).

Yesterday Sonoma County had our first run through of GOTV from 9AM -9PM. We had a great turn out (over 150 shifts) and the day was really well run. We phone banked into NC and AZ. Folks were mostly pleasant and overwhelmingly supporting Hillary. It always amazes me how all these unpaid volunteers will show up to work a 12 hour shift without a word of complaint, just grateful to be helping.

In 2012 I was team leader, which was a huge amount of work and responsibility. This year I am “decorator in chief” and I help get folks on the dialer and then make calls myself. Much easier.

As I gazed out into the crowd I had such a sense of pride, and calm. If Comey is making you nervous, find a campaign office and volunteer. Nothing soothes, like taking action.

I wanted to share the collage I made from volunteer photos. I hope the image code works

Still more troubling is the information contained in this just released article in The Wall Street Journal by Devlin Barrett. It describes what the article describes as a feud within the FBI and between the FBI and the Department of Justice over the Clinton probe. It now seems clear that what are essentially rogue FBI agents have been looking for all sorts of different angles to pursue investigations of Hillary Clinton and her family. Indeed, they’ve presented their evidence to career public corruption prosecutors at DOJ and been told they don’t have anything. But it hasn’t stopped. They clearly were not happy with the decision in the emails probe even though Comey said not even a close call.

This seems to be the backstory of what happened on Friday. Agents pushing for more aggressive investigations on various fronts, Comey fearing he’d be blamed after the fact for not notifying Congress in the letter he sent and specifically being afraid that some of these agents would leak news of the possibly new Huma Abedin emails to Congress. These are not fun situations to be in, I am sure. But they are ones an FBI Director should, indeed must, be willing to stand up to.

Sounds like he is the Boehner of the FBI. Poor Bastard is F**ked no matter what he does. Too bad for us that he is not able to run his department effectively.

    • 66 jacquelineoboomer
      October 30, 2016 at 10:21 pm

There needs to be an Inspector General-type investigation inside the FBI. This can’t stand. When political corruption breaks out, everybody should think “J. Edgar Hoover” and heads should roll.

      GE Ladyhawke.

This entire situation with Comey is absolutely mind-boggling, coming as it has 10 days before the most explosive, racist, xenophobic, misogynist, deplorable campaign in the past century.

It’s also extremely confusing and complicated — you need a scorecard to figure out who the players are (both within the media, FBI, and Congress).

As you described, Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) believes that Comey sent the letter to Congress because he knew/feared that the presence of Huma’s (forwarded?) emails existed on Weiner’s laptop had already been (or would be soon) leaked to Chaffetz.

This is a long article published last September by Riley Roberts, former speechwriter for Eric Holder — every. single. paragraph. has a gobsmacking quote.

If Comey stays on, he will make life hell for HRC (“a young James Comey served as deputy special counsel to the U.S. Senate Whitewater Committee”) or for DJT (perish the thought).

Here’s just a single snippet from the Riley Roberts’ article:

And yes, MSM took the bait planted by Chaffetz.

And, if all of this sounds familiar on a compressed timeline, never forget… #Benghazi!!!

    • October 31, 2016 at 2:52 am

Comey knows that Putin will hack the election for Trump, and doesn’t want to stop him. Letter was to even the polls so if the hack is successful, no one will suspect it was stolen. Timing of the release was INTENTIONAL.

They have gotten in formation behind AG Lynch. An army has been unleashed and this is one time that the over-reach is being checkmated. It appears that much of the upper echelons of the FBI is made up of partisan Clinton haters. Time to clean out this nest of vipers. And to borrow a line from Formation for HRC “you know you’re that Bitch when you cause all this conversation.” For the uninitiated, this is a compliment about a woman’s power.

      Night, all.

Even more damning for Comey, he sat around for two days and did nothing to remedy this mess he created. Given the reaction, and his out of bounds conduct, why the hell didn’t he get that search warrant on Friday, get those emails reviewed on Saturday, and have more information about them by Saturday night? Instead, he waited for two days to see just how bad the fallout would be and then finally got the search warrant today. This is insane. In the meantime, opinions are being hardened, Trump rants at 6 more rallies, and Hillary is left out there hanging. What a miscarriage of justice. Saw a pollster today who has been in the field this weekend. Not seeing much change on the presidential side, but a definite change in the senatorial races, he particularly noted IN and MO. If we lose the Senate over this, and have more years of no justice on the Supreme Court, the damage Comey will have wrought will be incalculable. What an ass. PBO will not want to fire him, but it is pretty clear at this point he needs to go. Not only is his own conduct out of bounds, but the leaks on this indicate an agency completely out of his control.

    http://www.reid.senate.gov/press_releases/2016-10-30-in-letter-reid-says-comey-may-have-broken-the-law#.WBbHncl94aR

Letter to Director Comey finishes as follows

“Please keep in mind that I have been a supporter of yours in the past. When Republicans filibustered your nomination and delayed your confirmation longer than any previous nominee to your position, I led the fight to get you confirmed because I believed you to be a principled public servant.

With the deepest regret, I now see that I was wrong.”

      GM 99ts.

Like the rest of US mainland TODville, I’m headed to bed, but it is absolutely impossible to keep up with what is going on in this election, ESPECIALLY after James Comey’s shameful statement on Friday.

BobFr posted Harry Reid’s brilliant letter upthread — cannot believe what a pickle we’re in, if Comey continues to serve under HRC as POTUS. (See my upthread comment to Ladyhawke, which has a tweet with a link to a comprehensive assessment of Comey, published last September.)

See you tomorrow (US Pacific Time).

Good night TOD. Nerdy, again, thank you so much for keeping us sane. Not sure how we’d survive this election without TOD. But it is somewhat sad that the election where we are electing our first woman as president has left such a horrible trail of destruction behind it, thanks to the GOP, DT and Putin. I remember well the joy of 2008 and wish this were similar. In any event, sleep well, only EIGHT more days to go!

It will be exciting on the night, Foxfire, when she gives her acceptance speech. President Obama had his share of filth thrown at him during his campaigns too, and if it seems worse this time, I believe it’s because he (a black person) was able to win two elections and the white men who think they ought to control the presidency thought finally things would go back to ‘normal’. Now they are more panicked than ever because a women is set to become the next president. They are pulling out all the stops because they know that if she gets elected, their grip on power will be gone forever,

I’ve never paid too much attention to the NYDN before the interview they released with Bernie Sanders which showed just how pathetic his platform was. http://europe.newsweek.com/donald-trump-companies-destroyed-emails-documents-515120

Over the course of decades, Donald Trump’s companies have systematically destroyed or hidden thousands of emails, digital records and paper documents demanded in official proceedings, often in defiance of court orders. These tactics—exposed by a Newsweek review of thousands of pages of court filings, judicial orders and affidavits from an array of court cases—have enraged judges, prosecutors, opposing lawyers and the many ordinary citizens entangled in litigation with Trump. In each instance, Trump and entities he controlled also erected numerous hurdles that made lawsuits drag on for years, forcing courtroom opponents to spend huge sums of money in legal fees as they struggled—sometimes in vain—to obtain records.

This behavior is of particular import given Trump’s frequent condemnations of Hillary Clinton, his Democratic opponent, for having deleted more than 30,000 emails from a server she used during her time as secretary of state. While Clinton and her lawyers have said all of those emails were personal, Trump has suggested repeatedly on the campaign trail that they were government documents Clinton was trying to hide and that destroying them constituted a crime. The allegation—which the FBI concluded was not supported by any evidence—is a crowd-pleaser at Trump rallies, often greeted by supporters chanting, “Lock her up!”

CRUSH THEM ALL. Get out there and VOTE!
