How much longer will Trump cultists let themselves to be fooled?

Wish there was a nation-wide ad blaming Turtle for all the harm he is inflicting on the country and its citizens by not passing the stimulus bill. He laughs at those who are suffering. Evil piece of …, while ppl are having difficulty with putting food on the table for their families, or to keep a roof over their heads.

Fifty cent isn’t worth anyone’s time, he is a lowlife with money. We have people who are worrying about paying the rent, who don’t have the money to buy food, who lost their jobs, and he is worrying about his taxes going up. A lowlife.

    Senator Kamala Harris:
Virtual Rally in Milwaukee on 1st Day of Early Voting in Wisconsin:
“We have to elect Joe Biden…Joe has a plan. And we have a plan. And part is starting with containing Covid.
And you know the thing about Joe is he has a deep understanding of how our Government works. He has an understanding of what it means to manage a crisis. He dealt with these crises in the past. Whether it be the Great Recession, when he pushed through the Recovery Act. Or what he did to work on containing Ebola. Joe has talked about a plan for Covid since March, and it’s a plan that is about saving lives and saving the economy. And you know Joe and I believe – and this is a very big difference between us and Donald Trump – we believe that you can measure the health and the wellbeing of the economy, not based on how rich people are doing but based on how working people are doing. And ours is going to be economic policy that is about supporting and holding up working people. We will not increase taxes for anybody making under $400,000 a year. But what we will do, is we will eliminate the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy, the top 1% of the biggest corporations. We will invest in people who need help with healthcare, and better schools and childcare. We will protect Social Security and Medicare. These are the things that we will do. Because we understand if we want to build up America’s economy, we have to build up working people. And also the bottom line is also doing it in a way that unites the America people, that brings us together.”

    Speaker Pelosi and Joy Reid:
    Joy Reid:
“This dichotomy between what Donald Trump is doing, you know, threatening to go, sort of, full Mobutu and try to lock up anybody he doesn’t like politically and dancing around on stage, as if COVID-19 doesn’t exist and goofing around and pretending he’s just sort of at summer camp, and this crisis.
We all at this point – something like 29 percent of African Americans know somebody who died of COVID-19.
I know somebody who’s died of COVID-19. Why doesn’t that seem to resonate inside that briefing room?
When you’re talking to Steve Mnuchin, does he get that? Do you think he understands what’s happening? ”
    Speaker Pelosi.:
“Well, negotiating with him is what we’re trying to do to get something accomplished.
But the fact is – you’ve described it very well – from the start, the President has never taken this seriously, and neither has Mitch McConnell. I don’t know If you saw him in the debate the other night, when it was asked, when he was asked what is he doing to help with this – with the resolution of this challenge, with the COVID-19 and the economic – he laughed. He laughed. He laughed. They’ve never taken it seriously. ‘Let the states go bankrupt. Let’s take a pause.’ The President from the – the ‘hoax.’”

Yesterday Soboroff told Hayes that two-thirds of the early group of parents were deported back to South America without their children, leaving the families possibly separated permanently.
These families were separated before the “zero tolerance” program as part of the 2017 under-the-radar experiment. ( n.b. authoritarian technique of testing first to see how much they can get away with.)
What the children have gone through these last 3 years is now categorized as “government-sanctioned child abuse” by the American Academy of Pediatrics. And “Torture” by Physicians for Human Rights.
HHS and DHS warned Trump how this would turn out without records, nor any ability to track the families.
Deported parents are left in an impossible position. It seems that even solutions such as letting the children go into the care of relatives in the U.S. is being rejected.
—if we out here are still having nightmares, what must it be like for parents and their little ones?
—8 million% unforgivable. Trump, Pence and enablers must pay.

We don’t want people thinking that this is being built by Black people,”

“Later, I was interviewing architectural students for a plant clerk job, and I had a young man waiting for me in the lobby, I was across the building and after I interviewed him I saw Donald, he grabbed someone, told me he needs to see you. “As Coronavirus Surges,
Select Subcommittee Releases White House Reports Contradicting President Trump On Testing, Masks”
“Reports Show 31 States Are in the “Red Zone.”
“Today, Rep. James E. Clyburn, Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis,
released six weeks of White House Coronavirus Task Force reports obtained by the Select Subcommittee.
These reports—which were shared privately with state governments each week but not disclosed to the public—reveal that the White House has been aware for more than a month of an alarming rise in cases nationwide and the need for more testing and mask mandates to save American lives—even as the President has continued to publicly downplay the crisis and hold crowded events contributing to the virus’s spread.”

  46. October 21, 2020 at 12:24 pm

“Reports Show the Virus Has Been Surging for Weeks, Despite the President’s Denials”
    Congressman James Clyburn:
“The reports released today show that the White House has been aware since just after Labor Day that cases were rising dramatically around the country. The White House chose to hide these reports, even as President Trump claimed publicly that the Coronavirus affects “virtually nobody” and hosted super spreading events in states the Taskforce warned had rising cases, including Wisconsin, and Minnesota, and North Carolina.”

    • October 21, 2020 at 12:27 pm

      Rachel Maddow:
“These private (WH) reports show that on September 13th, just after Labor Day,
the White House identified 18 states in the country as so-called ‘Red Zones’, in terms of having worrying numbers of new cases, or a worrying proportion of positive test results. Eighteen states in the Red Zone right after Labor Day. That warning from the White House included blunt language on how sharply cases were rising significantly, specifically in the state of Wisconsin. This was a White House warning right after Labor Day. Nevertheless, 4 days later, September 17th, Trump held a largely mostly mask free, no social distance rally in Wisconsin. Where his White House had just warned him they need to take new measures, increasingly dramatic measures, to slow the spread of the virus.
By September 27th, two weeks later, the White House was warning that the number of Red Zone states was no longer 18. It was 22.
The following week, October 4th, it wasn’t 22 states in the Red Zone. It was 24.
The week after that, October 11th, it wasn’t 24 states in the Red zone. It was 27.
The week after that is this week.
And their report for October 18th says it is now 31 states in the Red Zone.
A big majority of U.S. states in the most worrying category in terms of new cases and the per cent of tests that are positive. And these are White House warnings.”

    • October 21, 2020 at 12:29 pm

      Maddow:
“This inexorable rise in states that are in trouble on the White House’s own metrics.
While the president has said over the course of these same 6 weeks, that we are “rounding the corner”,
“we are rounding the turn”, “it’s going away”, “the end of the pandemic is in sight”.
All while the Trump White House has been privately sending these reports to the states about the virus overtaking state after state after state after state. To the point where there are more states in trouble, more states in the worst category, more states in the Red Zone than there have been at any time in the pandemic since the White House was keeping these records. While the president says ‘everything’s fine, it’s going away – by the way come to my rally, no mask required’.

Love living in a small town; nice to know that my neighbors value my knowledge and trust me.

    Yesterday:
    1. An 80 something stopped by for directions to the county election office as she wanted to hand deliver her ballot.

    2. A mentee called for an appointment so that I could verify that she filled out her ballot and was properly enveloping it. These reminder commercials about naked ballots are scaring folks. She brought a friend with her.

    3. They must have told a few friends, and so on and so on, to the point that I put a note on my front door, directing folks to the kitchen door.

    4. High point of yesterday, a group of five enveloping and sealing their ballots.

I sat at my kitchen door most of yesterday afternoon; as I’m unable to do the things I normally do during campaign season, it felt great to be of service.

    Hayes explains:
The summer Sturgis motorcycle rally drew 250,000+ people in early August.
Public health experts believe it seeded a massive COVID-19 outbreak in the Midwest within weeks. So now the North Dakota averages 918 cases per million. If it were its own country, ND would be suffering the worst outbreak in the world.
Dr. Joshua Wynne, North Dakota Chief Health Strategist,
Dean of University of North Dakota School of Medical and Health Sciences:
“The numbers are clearly headed in the wrong direction. I think North Dakotans got lulled by that ‘law’ we’re talking about, where when the pandemic started we were relatively immune, and I think we let down our guard and now we’re paying part of the price for that.”

    • October 21, 2020 at 2:55 pm

Hayes: “One of the things I think, early on when you had the outbreaks concentrated and fairly dense in urban areas around Detroit, around New Orleans and Louisiana, and around the New York area. There was a sense that denser places were more at risk, and one of the things we’re seeing now, particularly in your state, neighboring states, throughout the upper Midwest, is this is hitting fairly rural places pretty hard.”
      Dr. Wynne:
“Exactly right. One of the things that we’ve seen is that migration to more rural places.
The other thing that we’re seeing is that the population that’s being affected is also younger. So in North Dakota right now, the most common age group to be affected by COVID-19 is the 20/29 year old age group. And we think part of that relates to, not large gatherings as you were talking about with Sturgis, but in addition smaller gatherings where young people get together.”

    • October 21, 2020 at 2:56 pm

Hayes: “We’ve seen that in other places…where young people tend to get infected because they’re engaging in more high risk behavior. But it’s been very hard to stop that from getting to older populations. What’s being done at a policy level in your state to try and contain this thing? Because we know where that graph goes right, we’ve been through this before.”
      Dr. Wynne:
“Exactly right. The real risk from COVID while it extends across the board, is in vulnerable populations.
So we’ve been really focused on longterm care facilities throughout the state. So as you probably know, we have a very aggressive testing protocol especially in longterm care facilities. One of the reasons our numbers are up is because we are doing so much testing. Now that is a good thing so that we can identify who has it, who are contacts, and so forth. So we are really focused on trying to protect our vulnerable populations. The older segment of the population, and those with pre-existing conditions.”

    • October 21, 2020 at 2:58 pm

Hayes: “One thing…from the sunbelt outbreak particularly in Arizona…there was a kind of thermostatic relationship between public behavior and case counts….when the cases were low and the outbreak was being seeded, people were out, they were drinking, hanging out with each other. They masked up and they stopped doing that when cases went up.”
      Dr Wynne:
“Here in Fargo ND where our home is, the Mayor had a proclamation about masking for citizens in Fargo….local influence really makes a difference…hearing Mayor Mahoney (also a physician) saying you need to wear a mask does a lot more than hearing me or you saying it Chris.”

    • October 21, 2020 at 2:59 pm

Hayes: “One of the things that we saw in these outbreaks that were in metro areas,is they were places with fairly high hospital capacity, even if they were overwhelmed. We’ve seen reductions in rural hospital capacity across this country for years now. Many people suggest we’re now paying the price for that. What is hospital capacity looking like in your state?”
      Dr. Wynne:
“So the good news is we are in reasonable shape as far as hospital capacity. That isn’t to say that there aren’t some hospitals that are being stretched somewhat. But throughout the state we do have adequate capacity. The important thing again is to not rest on our laurels. We need to change the direction of that curve, so that we don’t get into a catastrophic situation where we run out of bed capacity.”
