Lots of people nervously asking, after seeing that pic of President Obama (see post below), has he ever harmed a living creature? Sadly, yes:
Jan. 1, 2012 – Pete Souza: “A nice way to celebrate the New Year for the President was to jump in the ocean in his native state of Hawaii. He was on his annual Christmas vacation with family and friends, and went swimming at Pyramid Rock Beach in Kaneohe Bay.” (White House Photo by Pete Souza

MoooOOOoooOOOooorning everyone! Sorry I wasn’t able to update yesterday evening …. that last thread got very long. đ
Just have to go out for an hour or two, then I’ll catch up with everything (ish). See ya then.
Steve Benen: Lindsey Graham sure does sound confident about 2012: South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham says the 2012 presidential election is the GOPâs to lose. âPresident Obama has done everything he knows how to do to beat himself,â Graham said on CNNâs âState of the Union….
Now, as I recall, Grahamâs record of election predictions isnât exactly sterling. A week before the 2008 election, Graham was in North Carolina touting John McCainâs chances:
âMcCain fits North Carolina like a gloveâŚ. Iâll beat Michael Phelps in swimming before Barack Obama wins North Carolina.â
A week later, Obama won North Carolina.
Michael Phelps was unavailable for comment…..

Steve Benen: Disgraced former House Speaker Newt Gingrich recently boasted that presidential campaigns as extraordinary as his are only seen âonce or twice in a century.â He may have been onto something. After all, it takes a special kind of presidential candidate to go on vacation three weeks after launching a campaign:
…..Gingrich has raised eyebrows among supporters and political observers by taking a vacation with his wife – during the same week prominent religious conservatives are gathering in Washington. Gingrich, who has been married three times, has been aggressively courting the religious conservatives, including many of the âpro-marriageâ activists gathering in Washington.
Sure, everyone takes breaks, but Gingrich has been a candidate for three weeks. To borrow a 2008 cliche, if the former Speaker canât even handle a month on the campaign trail without a vacation, how in the world does he expect to handle the pressure of being the president of the United States?
