U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta receives the Medal of Honor from President Barack Obama. The 25-year-old Iowan received the nation’s top military award for his heroic actions in Afghanistan, and is the first living service member to receive the award since the Vietnam war. Others have been awarded posthumously.
