Hey, isn’t that … former president Barack Obama and comedian Bill Murray, hitting the links together at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Va., on Tuesday? The “Caddyshack” star and Charleston resident was in Washington for the Sunday-night Mark Twain awards at the Kennedy Center honoring fellow funnyman Dave Letterman, and apparently found time during his visit to reunite with an old golfing buddy. Obama and Murray famously practiced putting in the Oval Office in a video the White House released in December urging people to sign up for health insurance.

Katie Van Syckle: Larry David Says Obama’s Golf Game Is Very Presidential
One of his favorite golf partners over the years has been President Obama. The pair have been spotted on Martha’s Vineyard, where David has a house and where the Obama family takes their annual August vacation. According to David, Obama’s golfing style is just what you’d expect: very chill. “He doesn’t cheat at all, he loves golf, he’s a cool customer on the golf course,” David told Vulture last night at the premiere of season nine of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. “You can learn a lot about a person when you play golf with them.”

“Like when you play golf with me, you can see what a baby I am,” David continued. “How unfit I would be to be president. But when you play with him, you say, ‘Oh yeah, that guy, I’m glad he’s president.’ He hits a terrible shot, and he just goes, ‘Oh, hey, too bad.’ And then moves on. He’s very good at handling adversity which is what you need in that office. I’m not. I freak out.”

Dan Roberts: Barack Obama Tees Off Scotland Visit With Round Of Golf
Barack Obama arrived in Scotland for his first ever visit and a round of golf at St Andrews before a charity dinner in Edinburgh that could hardly strike a more contrasting note with his successor. Obama was warmly received by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, during an earlier visit to Berlin on Thursday and then landed in Scotlandon Friday amid the sort of excitement normally reserved for current world leaders. Nonetheless, many camera phones were present to witness the famously golf-obsessed president complete his homage to St Andrews and tee off to a round of applause. After the third hole, Obama wandered over to the crowd who had been following him round the course. He shook hands with people and spoke with them before heading back to resume play.
