good news is no news
Politicususa: Last night Fox News released a new poll that revealed President Obama’s job approval ratings have swung a net 13 points and increased to 55% in the past month.
The poll has Obama’s job approval rating at 55%, which is an 8 point increase over the last month. Obama’s disapproval rating has declined by 6 points from 47% to 41%….
…Liberals approve of how Obama is performing as president, 78%-17%. Moderates also approve of the Obama presidency, 72%-24%. As expected almost 2/3 of conservatives disapprove of Obama, 33%-64%….
These job approval ratings for Obama are his highest in the Fox News poll since June of 2009. Even before the capture of Bin Laden an improving economic picture had the President’s approval ratings trending upwards, and now it looks like they have taken off.
….The media won’t tell you this, but Barack Obama isn’t in that much trouble. The popular media narrative is that this president’s political future is in jeopardy. Gloom and doom sells…
When even the Fox News poll shows growing Obama approval ratings the media may just have to face the fact that this president is fairly popular, and a whole lot of Americans are going to vote for Barack Obama in 2012.

GOPolitico: President Obama isn’t letting Mitt Romney off the hook so easily. While raising money in Boston on Wednesday, Obama alluded twice to Romney’s role in enacting the Massachusetts health care law, the latest reference to the former governor’s record that has haunted him as he eyes a White House bid.
“With a little assist from the former governor of Massachusetts, we said that health care should no longer be a privilege in this country,” Obama told laughing supporters at his first fundraiser. “We said that in the United States of America, just like here in Massachusetts, you should never go broke because you get sick.”
…At his second fundraiser Wednesday night, Obama called Romney’s measure a “great idea.”
“Implementation is going to be difficult, because part of our task is not just making sure that 30 million people have health care, but that we’re starting to get a better bang for our buck; that we’re driving down our costs, just like Massachusetts is now working on,” Obama said.

Fox need to find a new polling company – their latest poll shows the President at 55 😯
well, this is embarrassing
CBS (March 2): New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says he is confident he could win the 2012 presidential election if he wanted to … “I have people calling me and saying to me, ‘Let me explain to you how you could win.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re barking up the wrong tree. I already know I could win,’” he said. “That’s not the issue. The issue is not me sitting here and saying, ‘Geez, it might be too hard. I don’t think I can win.’ I see the opportunity both at the primary level and at the general election level. I see the opportunity.”
Rutgers (April 8): After becoming less positive following introduction of the budget, New Jersey voters remain split on their impression of Gov. Chris Christie, according to a new Rutgers-Eagleton Poll. While 44 percent of registered voters give the governor a favorable rating, 42 percent view him unfavorably and 14 percent have no opinion….
…President Barack Obama’s favorability rating stands at 55 percent, with 32 percent viewing him unfavorably and 13 percent reporting no opinion….

CNN: On the eve of his State of the Union address, Barack Obama’s approval rating is at its highest level in more than a year, according to a new national poll……Fifty-five percent of people questioned in the poll say they approve of how Obama’s handling his duties in the White House, with 44 percent saying they disapprove.
“The 55 percent figure is seven points higher than in December and 13 points higher than his September mark,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. “The president’s approval rating has not been this high since November of 2009 in CNN polling.”
