Good morning, TOD. Let’s DO this!!! Yes, we voted early. My Republican husband voted a straight blue ticket. He did the same in our local August election. 🙂 He says he is still a Republican, but not sure when he will ever vote for a R again. Funny how lots of his ideas/comments are much more D than R. 🙂

    Thank you NW.

Happy Voting Day Eve – let the music begin!!

Our democracy is on the ballot.

If we want to build on the progress that JoeBiden
and Democrats have made so far, then we’re going to need everybody to make their voices heard on Tuesday.

Show up. Vote on November 8th. Encourage your friends, family, neighbors to join you.

It was so very wonderful seeing President Obama out on the campaign trail, again. Helped us get through this scary time for our democracy – and he nailed it, every time he was at the mic!

“The ad from a coalition of right-wing groups claims that a measure guaranteeing reproductive freedom in Michigan would let kids receive puberty blockers without parental consent.

LGBTQ+ groups and other civil rights advocates are denouncing an ad being run by opponents of Michigan’s Proposal 3, a ballot initiative that would enshrine the right to reproductive freedom in the state constitution.

The ad from Citizens to Support Michigan Women and Children claims that if Proposal 3 is passed by voters this November, children will be able to receive puberty blockers without parental consent. Puberty blockers are often prescribed for transgender children.”

pls come to realize that we’re ALL EQUAL NO EXCEPTIONS.

We may be from across the tracks, living in wealth, or in between, in good health or not. Nevertheless we are Equal absolutely as well as absolutely Equal. At all times in all weathers, this equality with the ten thousand things is inviolable, done.

Republican leaders are saying that if I don’t help them cut Social Security and Medicare then guess what?

They will wreak havoc on our economy and refuse to raise the debt ceiling. I’m not joking.

FACT SHEET: President Biden’s Leadership to Tackle the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad Galvanizes Unprecedented Momentum at Start of U.N. Climate Conference (COP27)

“In less than two years since taking office, President Biden’s leadership to tackle the climate crisis has boosted U.S. manufacturing and deployment of cost-cutting clean energy technologies, put the country on a durable path aligned with limiting warming to 1.5 °C, and galvanized global action by partners and the private sector – building unprecedented momentum towards achieving critical climate goals and strengthening global resilience. As more than a hundred countries gather for the 27th Conference of the Parties to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, the United States will work with partners to enhance global ambition to accelerate growth of the clean energy economy, avert the most catastrophic impacts of climate change, and help lower- and middle- income countries build resilience to climate impacts. In fact, the President has pledged to work with Congress to increase U.S. international climate finance to over $11 billion a year – which would make the United States the single largest contributor of climate finance. These actions are key to strengthening global security – including energy, water, food, and health security – which has been made all the more urgent following Russia’s war against Ukraine that has disrupted energy markets, strained economies with rising prices, and threatened vulnerable countries with severe food shortages.”

I usually vote on election day because I like standing in line and trying to pick which person is going to screw up democracy by voting for the most unprepared candidate. But with this election I went and voted early so I could sit back on election night and enjoy the blue wave. And speaking of Elon Musk, this guy is a piece of work, am I right folks? This guy had the electric vehicle segment and outer space on lockdown, this guy was one white Persian cat and an underground city away from being the first real-life Bond villain. But no, I mean why show the world that you’re a certified asshole by buying Twitter and burning it to the ground when you could have just as easily bought and not try to burn it to the ground.

POLICE OFFICER MICHAEL FANONE – once a Trump supporter,
said this in his Ad today:

    “On January 26th 2021,
thousands of violent rioters descended on the nation’s Capitol,
    fueled by the lies
peddle by Donald Trump and his allies,
and directed by the former President himself
to take the fight to the Capitol.

Their purpose was to prevent Congress from certifying
    a free and fair election,
and in some instances to hunt down members of Congress and the Vice President.
They came to the Capitol armed with firearms,
    basesball bats, batons, knives,
    chemical irritants,
    and commercial grad explosives.
What they were met with was hundreds of American police officers,
many, like myself, who self deployed
after heeding the distress calls of our colleagues.

    For hours we fought,
outnumbered by as much as 5 to 1,
to protect members of Congress, their staff,
and for the police officers standing
to our left and to our right,
    even for democracy itself.
As a result, more than 100 officers from the Metroloplotian Police Department
and the United States Capitol Police
    were injured, many seriously.
I sustained a traumatic brain injury, suffered a heart attack,
and was later diagnosed with PTSD.

Mehmet Oz is no ordinary Republican.
He has aligned himself with Donald Trump,
the first president in U.S. history
to send his supporters to attack their fellow Americans,
police officers, in an attempt to subvert democracy.
Donald Trump recently promised to pardon
individuals convicted from the January 6th attack,
    including those convicted
    of violently assaulting police officers.

Oz has filled his campaign ranks
    with election deniers
and even participants in the January 6th
    attack on our Capitol.

Oz is not the independent voice he claims to be.
He is a mouthpiece for Donald Trump
    and his hate-filled violent rhetoric.

    Pennsylvanians deserve a representative
    committed to our democratic process
    and one who respects
    the rule of law.
That is why I support John Fetterman for Senate in Pennsylvania.

    Thank you.”

Remarks by President Biden at a Democratic National Committee Rally

    The Liacouras Center
    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“Do you know what their number-one priority is if they win? They made it — look, they’re saying it out loud. They want to get rid of everything we just did. The power we just gave Medicare to negotiate drug prices — gone. The $2,000 cap on prescription drugs — gone. The $35 cap on insulin — gone. The tax credit for lower energy costs — gone. Fifteen percent corporate tax — gone. And the $800 savings in healthcare premiums we just got for families in the Affordable Care Act — gone.

In fact, they want to do away with the Affordable Care Act. And that means millions of people with pre-existing conditions would lose their insurance completely.”

    Joy Reid’s most marvelous advice:

“We are in the final stretch of this mid-term election
and there are a few things you need to keep in mind with just …hours until polls begin to close, OK?

Now if you remember back in 2020, some Republicans jumped to an early lead in the vote count. Remember the warnings about the “Red Mirage” or the “Blue Shift”?
    Well why did that happen?

Because Democrats are more likely to vote early and by mail, and to use ballot Drop Boxes. While Republicans, fueled by Donald Trump’s conspiracy theories, have largely turned on mail-in voting and disproportionately prefer to vote in-person on Election Day.

So we can expect similar trends (today) in some key states, like PA, AZ, MI and GA.
These key states, they process the votes in different ways.

So here are the buckets of votes that you have to keep in mind when watching the results:

    Early votes and the in-person votes, take for example PA;
the Republican legislature refuse to allow election officials to process mail-in votes until Election Day.

That means the state will have a million Early Votes just waiting to be processed till the polls close. Same thing in WI.

And NV absentee ballots cannot be processed until the polls close.

Now all of this is to say that there is a very real possibility that we will not know the outcome of some of these key races, including control of Congress (tonight).

As the votes come and the shift – the totals will shift too.
So America, breathe! Take a deep breath.
Settle in and just let the votes be counted.

Just because it takes a long time does not mean that something nefarious is happening. You will know the answer to who won the elections soon enough. So breathe!”
