following the leaked release of surveillance video from inside Robb Elementary School
as a deranged gunman took the lives of two teachers and 19 children.
According to Uvalde officials, the video was meant to be seen first privately by family members of the victims this weekend. It led to a heated city council meeting on Tuesday where the Uvalde mayor attacked the media outlets who published it, but got some pushback on where his anger should be directed. Donell Harvin, senior policy researcher at the Rand Corporation and a first responder following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary joins Joy Reid to analyze the failed police tactics revealed in this footage.”

I Was Raped by My Father. An Abortion Saved My Life.

    By Michele Goodwin
    (Nov. 30, 2021)

“It was the early morning of my 10th birthday the first time that I was raped by my father. It would not be the last. The shock was so severe that I temporarily went blind before I began the fifth grade a few weeks later. By the time the school year began, my father had taken me to see a battery of doctors — a medical explanation would paper over the fact that the trauma caused by his sexual violence had caused my body to shut down.

The physiological suffering that I endured included severe migraines, hair loss and even gray hair — at 10 years old. While other girls may have longed for puberty, I loathed the idea of it. My body became a vessel that was not mine. It had been taken from me. I lived in fear of the night, and the footsteps outside my bedroom door.”

    • July 15, 2022 at 12:20 pm

“My father’s predations were hidden behind wealth, social status
and his acting the part of a committed and attentive parent. I attended elite schools in New York City, studied ballet at a renowned academy and took private violin and tennis lessons. My father never missed a parent-teacher conference. However, that veneer of normalcy belied intimate family violence that began years before with his physical abuse of my mother. At times he was so violent that she was hospitalized.

At age 12, I was pregnant by my father, and I had an abortion.”

“Rather than provide aid and care, states often punish girls who have run away from home after experiencing sexual violence. More than 80 percent of the girls in juvenile justice systems in some states are victims of sexual or physical violence.” (Michele Goodwin)

Election Subversion Is the New Voter Suppression

    By Marc Elias
    (May 25, 2022)

“Contrary to what some argue, I don’t expect Republican election officials to blatantly ignore the election results and declare that the candidate who received fewer votes has won. The Republican election subversion plan is more sophisticated than that. Instead, I expect Republicans to use false allegations of fraud as a pretext to remove ballots from the vote totals and then certify those incomplete results.”

    • July 15, 2022 at 12:27 pm

Marc Elias to Danya Perry in the video posted above:

“So this is I think the real threat to democracy in 2022 and 2024,
because we all talk about the right to vote.
But the second part of that is the right to have your voted counted,
and for the right to have the accurate results certified.

So what I worry about is the Republicans at the local level and at the state level
simply won’t include all the ballots in the certified results.
Now if that sounds crazy, right now,
the state of PA is suing 3 counties in PA because…”

CANADA: First Nations question open-pit mining project

A ruling by Canada’s federal and territorial governments to proceed with BMC Minerals’ proposed Kudz Ze Kayah mining project is raising concerns among the Kaska Dena First Nations that they were not meaningfully consulted on the project, APTN News reported on July 8.

If given final approval, the $381-million, open-pit mineral mine is expected to generate annually about 7.8 million ounces of silver and 235 million pounds of zinc from an area that is at the heart of the winter range for the Finlayson caribou herd, an important food source for the Kaska people.

“The caribou herd has dwindled in numbers in the last few decades, dropping from about 6,000 animals in 1990 to about 2,700, according to a report from the Yukon government.”

“Shhhh, we have to be quiet,” the teacher urges the kids who are now fidgety and anxious.
Suddenly, the silence is cut as the locked door handle shakes aggressively with someone on the outside attempting to get in. The footsteps retread and a walkie talkie echoes “clear.” Even though we knew this time, it was just pretend, it felt so real.”

    Statement by President Joe Biden
    JULY 15, 2022

“Action on climate change and clean energy remains more urgent than ever.

So let me be clear: if the Senate will not move to tackle the climate crisis and strengthen our domestic clean energy industry, I will take strong executive action to meet this moment. My actions will create jobs, improve our energy security, bolster domestic manufacturing and supply chains, protect us from oil and gas price hikes in the future, and address climate change. I will not back down: the opportunity to create jobs and build a clean energy future is too important to relent.

Health care is also critical. After decades of fierce opposition from powerful special interests, Democrats have come together, beaten back the pharmaceutical industry and are prepared to give Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices and to prevent an increase in health insurance premiums for millions of families with coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Families all over the nation will sleep easier if Congress takes this action. The Senate should move forward, pass it before the August recess, and get it to my desk so I can sign it.

This will not only lower the cost of prescription drugs and health care for families, it will reduce the deficit and help fight inflation.”

Allow me a quick rant, which spans the early ’90s until today. Ha.

Every time I see Pete Williams on MSNBC, I gag. Back in the mid-90’s, I transferred to one of the southern states and was working in public affairs as a civilian for a Navy command, shortly after old rugged Pete had already left his job as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs at the Defense Department. I was hosting a training course for my fellow Navy Public Affairs Officers from around the country and our command a couple of years later, entitled, “Risk Communication.” The excellent course was run by a private training firm under contract with the Defense Department … a woman who was probably in her 50s, not that age matters except in the telling of this story, was the owner of the company and was telling us a little bit about some of her experiences as we sat around at lunch one day.

She said that the first day she and her training team arrived to present its maiden (used that word purposefully here lol) course to high-ranking Defense public affairs personnel at The Pentagon, she ran into old cranky Pete, who was in charge of the group of trainees (military and civilian). When he walked into the training room before the course started, he saw her and said, “Can you grab me a cup of black coffee?”

A few years later, she was still annoyed by that. She had good credentials and a company of her own which was distinctive enough to get a Defense Department training contract and that old-school fool took one look at her and decided she must be part of the kitchen staff or whatever. I mean, why else would a woman he didn’t know be in the room?

And I gag when I see Pete because I realize that in the minds of some of these old-school pukes, their respect for women – at work or in their leisure time, perhaps – hasn’t grown. Not all men, thank God … but Pete and his brethren? No doubt. Gag.

End of rant. P.S. When I hold a grudge, I hold a grudge. lol

And well you ought to hold onto it, JO’B, because we will never forget, we MUST NEVER forget, nor shall we forgive, and we shall always remember this type of fool is exactly how we have come to be in the state of massive fail we are in presently: there is no excuse for such low-level consciousness.

We ‘baby boomers’ were, and are, as a group of Souls, meant to come into form to begin the serious change needed to return the Earth and Her immensely creative energy back to the path of having a future for all life forms. Many of us have understood this and done the work, made a difference.

Too many of the group born with us have chosen to ignore the Soul Purpose, have chosen to maul and malign, to excuse their greed in an effort to pretend they are working for the good of all, as they continue to show the world how badly they have failed. Perhaps they truly do not understand their own shame, but I believe on some low, unconscious level they do know, and are so bound up in their fears now, they do not know how to rebalance.

      Too bad for them, yes.

But too bad for all, for our children, for the plants, the birds, the seas, the skies, all Life contained within the dome of this exquisite creation we call Home.

We need her more than She needs us, them’s the facts. Mother Earth WILL rebalance, it’s exactly what She is doing now, She must. It’s possible She doesn’t even know we are here, such small, stupid and inconsequential pathetic beings we have turned out to become.

And yet, still I hold hope in my Heart, still I keep the faith, because there ARE good people on this planet, we are good people, and somehow, the good will prevail.

      It must.

“I have always said that sometime in the reasonable future, I would be stepping down.” Dr. Anthony Fauci will likely retire by the end of President Joe Biden’s term in January 2025.
