Juneteenth is a time to commemorate the anniversary of the delayed news of freedom reaching the enslaved Black folks in Galveston, Texas. Today, we remember that struggle for freedom as we reflect on how far we’ve come as a country—and on the work that remains undone.
We remember that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope for tomorrow’s light. Let us all recommit ourselves today to honoring those who fought over generations to steer our country closer to our highest ideals.

Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.
I saw a video on Twitter where PO promised during campaign that one of the first things he would do is see to it that RvsW would be codified into law. Then, a few months after coming in to office, he said in a press conference that that was no longer a priority. It is actually in a thread on his Tweet about the decision. Just heard Thom Hartman suggest this. Question is could Pres. Biden do this: Do an EO exempting all federal facilities/military bases. Then allow those bases/facilities to lease space to abortion clinics. This would also allow women in military to still have easy access.
