I’m feeling sad today. My sister accepted a government job in Korea for a year. It might be extended to two years. She just left yesterday. Arrived safely this morning. I miss her already. 🥺
She’s gonna be working with military families at one of the US air bases. She was stationed in Korea for a while when she was active duty, so she knows the country. I hope to go visit her at least once.

AQUARIUS, URANUS, AND THE ELEVENTH HOUSE: ASPIRATIONS, INDIVIDUALIZATION, AND CHANGE | JANUARY 2022
As we strive to align ourselves to the reality of ourselves as Souls, we will be seeking ways to implement a greater measure of Goodwill into our lives. This requires that we judge ourselves not too severely while identifying what in our personality prevents a greater flowing of loving inclusivity. Hostility, prejudice, and the intolerance of other people’s differences are several of the most inhibitory factors preventing the manifestation of the strength and power of Goodwill in both our personal and planetary lives. In the violence and chaos of our challenging times, we but need to look around us to see the destruction of life and civilization that comes from an absence of the Will-to-Good. –A.O.
One of the most significant goals in the current dynamics of human evolution is the development of true intuition as the “sixth sense.” This takes place first in the awakening of the heart center/chakra which is the fourth such centers in the human organism. The awakening of the heart is related to the fourth plane of consciousness (the first three are physical, emotional, and mental), which is known in the Ancient Wisdom as the “Buddhic” or intuitive plane. In the astrological system, Uranus is the planet associated with this level of awareness. Once the heart center is opened, there is a resonating link to the Third Eye and these two centers begin to vibrate simultaneously. The combination of these two functioning centers gives the individual the power of intuitive perception. I am here not speaking theoretically, but am pointing to an actual process—your process and mine—that leads to a most important stage on our development. This stage is called “individualization” and it speaks about the polarization of energy between the Sun/Leo and Uranus/Aquarius. This is the place where humanity has entered at the present time—the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. Thus the human struggle in our current era is to awaken the fusion of the heart and Third Eye point and by so doing, to release us from the current crises of inhuman behavior on the part of nations and their inhabitants.
Gurdjieff, a rather enlightened and enigmatic early 20th century teacher, stated that all humans were machines until they reached a certain stage of self-awareness. That stage has become increasingly available to us, the first generation en masse of Aquarian Age children. Yet this, our group is still very cuspal while the huge majority of men and women on Earth are still to quote the Tibetan Master DK, “prisoners of the planet.” We have not as yet fully evolved to embrace the higher energies of Uranus. We as the collective Humanity are thus currently unable at this point in the 21st century to live out the mission of Goodwill to all men and woman of all nations, races, and life orientations. We still cannot embrace the Aquarian ideal of equality and the union of all distinct groups into One Group while allowing each of these smaller collectives to live out their own lives in accordance with the beauty of their differences. This last statement embodies the relationship between Leo and Aquarius: Leo the individual and Aquarius the group.
Before the manifestation of the real New World Order and the coming forth of the One Religion that unites us all, there will still be enormous violence and continuous wars. This One Religion of which I speak permits each to worship in his or her own way while at the same time realizing that there are many Paths to the One Goal and respecting those differences. This One Religion will have no name, it is the intrinsic potency of Uranus/Aquarius at its highest, i.e. an energetic conscious web that links all of humanity as one. This is manifesting in the world today through the archetypes of the cell phone, Facebook, and Twitter. It allows every individual to have his or her own phone, page, followers, but in order to do so, one must be connected to the “group.” The requirement being that we pay our fees and obey certain rather liberal collective codes of behavior in order to be part of these social networks. Within the social network of the One Group, there are myriads of sub-groups and/or you can be a group of one. But I reiterate, in order to be Leo (the individual), you must be part of Aquarius (the group).
During this cuspal period between the Ages of Pisces and Aquarius, we are witnessing the destruction of a number of groups through wars of genocide. This was most evident during World War Two but the global holocaust continues, especially from the outset of the Uranus/Pluto square in 2010. It will continue at its current ferocity at least until 2015 when these two planets make their last exact 900 aspect in the middle degrees of Aries and Capricorn. At the same time we are also watching the forces of Good working out through the Aquarius group modality in such forms as Doctors without Borders, UNESCO, Greenpeace, the Clubs of Rome and Budapest, and many, many other groups dedicate to World Goodwill. All of the latter and its participants may be grouped under one super-Aquarius model known as the New Group of World Servers.
Uranus is the planet that links people into groups and groups into Super Groups. It does this through advanced technology whose purpose is that of its sign Aquarius—collective networking. Thus Uranus rules computers, the internet, the creation of websites, cellular phone systems, the incredibly popular social networking sites, as well as television, I-Pads, etc. And as we all know, Uranus via Aquarius is the planet of social revolutions. It is thus that we saw the recent initiatives of the Arab Spring in Egypt and elsewhere being led and invoked by a number of anonymous “leaders” using the Uranian device of hand-held communicators. It is through this methodology that we have seen and perhaps participated in those wonderfully creative and powerful seemingly spontaneous group dances and songs in airports, shopping malls, and so many other “Uranian places” (airports and air travel are ruled by this planet as well as all group gatherings). These intensely anonymous uplifting group creative expressions are characterized by “normal” people just coming forth from crowds, creating a specific group expression, and then melting back into the larger collective group from which it appeared. There is one I especially like that was done in Moscow to the tune of “Putin on the Ritz.” See it on YouTube, another Aquarian/Uranian expression of individuals spontaneously creating groups and then groups creating channels of connecting individuals and groups. Amazing! The Age of Aquarius is here both in terms of its Light and Dark sides, but then the expression of the manifested Universe is dual and there is always the battle between Light and its absence.
Aquarius is ruled by two planets: Uranus and Saturn. The blending of these two when positive is incredibly wonderful to behold. I have seen this most certainly orchestrated by the Chinese whose very success as a nation depends upon this synthesis. I remember the first day I was ever in Beijing. This was the day following the huge May Day parades and public gatherings in 1985. I was walking alone in Tiananmen Square. Huge pictures of Lenin, Stalin, Marx, and Trotsky were in abundant evidence but overshadowed by the “ginormous” portrait of Chairman Mao handing on a massive wall of the Forbidden City, overlooking the Square. I looked beneath my feet and radiating from where I was standing was some 500,000 or so it seemed square bricks—each one chalked marked with a number! It was to one’s particular number that each attending Chinese citizen went with his or her set of placards. And when the signal was given these hundreds of thousands of organized separate pieces resulted in perfect mosaics of slogans and portraits of current Chinese heroes that the political and military leaders standing on a balcony under Mao’s portrait could view. This organized group of individuals creating a huge group unity is exactly what the fused of Saturn and Uranus means. Regardless of our agreement or disagreement with China as a political unit, they have this Aquarian Age thing perfected hands down and as a result, are becoming the major power in the world overtaking the USA, Europe, Russia, and certainly the Middle East who still live in states of great divisive duality. This duality in Russia by the way has only just begun!
When Uranus and Saturn do not blend and synthesize and instead oppose and polarize as is the case today in so many countries and regions of the world (as well as within so many of us as individuals), we find the stress that comes from the urge for the introduction of new thought-forms and revolutionary social systems opposing the status quo of religious fundamentalism and political dictatorship. The net result is the violence and chaos I mentioned at the outset of this piece.
This fundamentalism is found most obviously in Islam, Christianity, and Orthodox Judaism. As such we can see how in Islam this has created wars between the more secular movements in the Arab world and certain groups of hardline religious adherents. In the West, Christian fundamentalism has entered into the very heart of the American political system causing the greatest polarization the USA has ever seen. And Israel faces enormous problems trying to integrate its Orthodox community (many of whom do not recognize the current Israeli state) within the fabric of the modern life of this nation. Living vestiges of Christian, Jewish, and Islamic “Saturnian Victorianism” is manifested as the urge to keep woman as second-class citizens or worse and the hateful outcries against the gay people of the world who make up about 10% of humanity.
The urge to synthesize Saturn and Uranus and the success of this process will eventually win out over the polarization of these two powerful forces. This is because such a harmonious fusion and the “humanization of humanity” resulting into the opening of our collective heart center is the paradigm of the Age of Aquarius. But as we are seeing, getting there is so very destructive, so very violent, and so very abusive to so many. It is very true that at this particular time in human history, we are seeing both within ourselves as well as in the collective struggles of certain groups within nations, the struggle for liberation. This requires a tremendous effort from freeing ourselves from those previous thought-forms, patterns of behavior, and structures of society which we have inherited from the dualistic, emotionally polarized Age of Pisces. The urge is for freedom and liberation but the forces that seek to be liberated and freed are not all good ones! Thus there are to be some form of inner personal legislation (hello Mr. Saturn) that guards, protects, and structures the Will-to-Good, both in ourselves and in the world. It is in this that we find one of the most challenging dynamics of the evolution of human consciousness.
A hint in terms of your individual chart: look closely at your Eleventh House to see how you may most naturally contribute to World Goodwill. It will be through this astrological domicile that you can be connected to the group of other men and woman who will be in your own “spiritual family” and with who you may work to bring forth your higher ideals and aspirations for a better world. See how the planet Uranus is aspected to the ruler of your Eleventh and the connection that Uranus has to Venus in your chart. These are other clues inherent in your natal map that will open the Path for you to those kinds of impersonal relationships that will point to how your “field of service” may be joined and integrated with other people of similar orientation.
I will end this article with some comments about the esoteric ruler of Aquarius and its purpose relative to Uranus, the traditional ruler of this sign. In soul-centered astrology, we work with Jupiter as the ruler of the Water Bearer. Jupiter is the planet of the Second Ray of Love/Wisdom. As I have already mentioned, Uranus is the planet governing all the social media outlets and the entire range of computerized products. It is the ruling planet of the Seventh Ray which deals with the ordering of the physical plane. Thus the purpose for all of our Twitterings, FaceBookings, endless messaging, and group gatherings via all things Uranian is to bring for the Ray of Love/Wisdom governed by what we call the Greater Benefic, the planet Jupiter. This is the hope, purpose, and aspiration of all men and woman of Goodwill at this time: Let Love and Wisdom Prevail on planet Earth.

AQUARIUS, URANUS, AND THE ELEVENTH HOUSE: ASPIRATIONS, INDIVIDUALIZATION, AND CHANGE | JANUARY 2022
As we strive to align ourselves to the reality of ourselves as Souls, we will be seeking ways to implement a greater measure of Goodwill into our lives. This requires that we judge ourselves not too severely while identifying what in our personality prevents a greater flowing of loving inclusivity. Hostility, prejudice, and the intolerance of other people’s differences are several of the most inhibitory factors preventing the manifestation of the strength and power of Goodwill in both our personal and planetary lives. In the violence and chaos of our challenging times, we but need to look around us to see the destruction of life and civilization that comes from an absence of the Will-to-Good. –A.O.
One of the most significant goals in the current dynamics of human evolution is the development of true intuition as the “sixth sense.” This takes place first in the awakening of the heart center/chakra which is the fourth such centers in the human organism. The awakening of the heart is related to the fourth plane of consciousness (the first three are physical, emotional, and mental), which is known in the Ancient Wisdom as the “Buddhic” or intuitive plane. In the astrological system, Uranus is the planet associated with this level of awareness. Once the heart center is opened, there is a resonating link to the Third Eye and these two centers begin to vibrate simultaneously. The combination of these two functioning centers gives the individual the power of intuitive perception. I am here not speaking theoretically, but am pointing to an actual process—your process and mine—that leads to a most important stage on our development. This stage is called “individualization” and it speaks about the polarization of energy between the Sun/Leo and Uranus/Aquarius. This is the place where humanity has entered at the present time—the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. Thus the human struggle in our current era is to awaken the fusion of the heart and Third Eye point and by so doing, to release us from the current crises of inhuman behavior on the part of nations and their inhabitants.
Gurdjieff, a rather enlightened and enigmatic early 20th century teacher, stated that all humans were machines until they reached a certain stage of self-awareness. That stage has become increasingly available to us, the first generation en masse of Aquarian Age children. Yet this, our group is still very cuspal while the huge majority of men and women on Earth are still to quote the Tibetan Master DK, “prisoners of the planet.” We have not as yet fully evolved to embrace the higher energies of Uranus. We as the collective Humanity are thus currently unable at this point in the 21st century to live out the mission of Goodwill to all men and woman of all nations, races, and life orientations. We still cannot embrace the Aquarian ideal of equality and the union of all distinct groups into One Group while allowing each of these smaller collectives to live out their own lives in accordance with the beauty of their differences. This last statement embodies the relationship between Leo and Aquarius: Leo the individual and Aquarius the group.
Before the manifestation of the real New World Order and the coming forth of the One Religion that unites us all, there will still be enormous violence and continuous wars. This One Religion of which I speak permits each to worship in his or her own way while at the same time realizing that there are many Paths to the One Goal and respecting those differences. This One Religion will have no name, it is the intrinsic potency of Uranus/Aquarius at its highest, i.e. an energetic conscious web that links all of humanity as one. This is manifesting in the world today through the archetypes of the cell phone, Facebook, and Twitter. It allows every individual to have his or her own phone, page, followers, but in order to do so, one must be connected to the “group.” The requirement being that we pay our fees and obey certain rather liberal collective codes of behavior in order to be part of these social networks. Within the social network of the One Group, there are myriads of sub-groups and/or you can be a group of one. But I reiterate, in order to be Leo (the individual), you must be part of Aquarius (the group).
During this cuspal period between the Ages of Pisces and Aquarius, we are witnessing the destruction of a number of groups through wars of genocide. This was most evident during World War Two but the global holocaust continues, especially from the outset of the Uranus/Pluto square in 2010. It will continue at its current ferocity at least until 2015 when these two planets make their last exact 900 aspect in the middle degrees of Aries and Capricorn. At the same time we are also watching the forces of Good working out through the Aquarius group modality in such forms as Doctors without Borders, UNESCO, Greenpeace, the Clubs of Rome and Budapest, and many, many other groups dedicate to World Goodwill. All of the latter and its participants may be grouped under one super-Aquarius model known as the New Group of World Servers.
Uranus is the planet that links people into groups and groups into Super Groups. It does this through advanced technology whose purpose is that of its sign Aquarius—collective networking. Thus Uranus rules computers, the internet, the creation of websites, cellular phone systems, the incredibly popular social networking sites, as well as television, I-Pads, etc. And as we all know, Uranus via Aquarius is the planet of social revolutions. It is thus that we saw the recent initiatives of the Arab Spring in Egypt and elsewhere being led and invoked by a number of anonymous “leaders” using the Uranian device of hand-held communicators. It is through this methodology that we have seen and perhaps participated in those wonderfully creative and powerful seemingly spontaneous group dances and songs in airports, shopping malls, and so many other “Uranian places” (airports and air travel are ruled by this planet as well as all group gatherings). These intensely anonymous uplifting group creative expressions are characterized by “normal” people just coming forth from crowds, creating a specific group expression, and then melting back into the larger collective group from which it appeared. There is one I especially like that was done in Moscow to the tune of “Putin on the Ritz.” See it on YouTube, another Aquarian/Uranian expression of individuals spontaneously creating groups and then groups creating channels of connecting individuals and groups. Amazing! The Age of Aquarius is here both in terms of its Light and Dark sides, but then the expression of the manifested Universe is dual and there is always the battle between Light and its absence.
Aquarius is ruled by two planets: Uranus and Saturn. The blending of these two when positive is incredibly wonderful to behold. I have seen this most certainly orchestrated by the Chinese whose very success as a nation depends upon this synthesis. I remember the first day I was ever in Beijing. This was the day following the huge May Day parades and public gatherings in 1985. I was walking alone in Tiananmen Square. Huge pictures of Lenin, Stalin, Marx, and Trotsky were in abundant evidence but overshadowed by the “ginormous” portrait of Chairman Mao handing on a massive wall of the Forbidden City, overlooking the Square. I looked beneath my feet and radiating from where I was standing was some 500,000 or so it seemed square bricks—each one chalked marked with a number! It was to one’s particular number that each attending Chinese citizen went with his or her set of placards. And when the signal was given these hundreds of thousands of organized separate pieces resulted in perfect mosaics of slogans and portraits of current Chinese heroes that the political and military leaders standing on a balcony under Mao’s portrait could view. This organized group of individuals creating a huge group unity is exactly what the fused of Saturn and Uranus means. Regardless of our agreement or disagreement with China as a political unit, they have this Aquarian Age thing perfected hands down and as a result, are becoming the major power in the world overtaking the USA, Europe, Russia, and certainly the Middle East who still live in states of great divisive duality. This duality in Russia by the way has only just begun!
When Uranus and Saturn do not blend and synthesize and instead oppose and polarize as is the case today in so many countries and regions of the world (as well as within so many of us as individuals), we find the stress that comes from the urge for the introduction of new thought-forms and revolutionary social systems opposing the status quo of religious fundamentalism and political dictatorship. The net result is the violence and chaos I mentioned at the outset of this piece.
This fundamentalism is found most obviously in Islam, Christianity, and Orthodox Judaism. As such we can see how in Islam this has created wars between the more secular movements in the Arab world and certain groups of hardline religious adherents. In the West, Christian fundamentalism has entered into the very heart of the American political system causing the greatest polarization the USA has ever seen. And Israel faces enormous problems trying to integrate its Orthodox community (many of whom do not recognize the current Israeli state) within the fabric of the modern life of this nation. Living vestiges of Christian, Jewish, and Islamic “Saturnian Victorianism” is manifested as the urge to keep woman as second-class citizens or worse and the hateful outcries against the gay people of the world who make up about 10% of humanity.
The urge to synthesize Saturn and Uranus and the success of this process will eventually win out over the polarization of these two powerful forces. This is because such a harmonious fusion and the “humanization of humanity” resulting into the opening of our collective heart center is the paradigm of the Age of Aquarius. But as we are seeing, getting there is so very destructive, so very violent, and so very abusive to so many. It is very true that at this particular time in human history, we are seeing both within ourselves as well as in the collective struggles of certain groups within nations, the struggle for liberation. This requires a tremendous effort from freeing ourselves from those previous thought-forms, patterns of behavior, and structures of society which we have inherited from the dualistic, emotionally polarized Age of Pisces. The urge is for freedom and liberation but the forces that seek to be liberated and freed are not all good ones! Thus there are to be some form of inner personal legislation (hello Mr. Saturn) that guards, protects, and structures the Will-to-Good, both in ourselves and in the world. It is in this that we find one of the most challenging dynamics of the evolution of human consciousness.
A hint in terms of your individual chart: look closely at your Eleventh House to see how you may most naturally contribute to World Goodwill. It will be through this astrological domicile that you can be connected to the group of other men and woman who will be in your own “spiritual family” and with who you may work to bring forth your higher ideals and aspirations for a better world. See how the planet Uranus is aspected to the ruler of your Eleventh and the connection that Uranus has to Venus in your chart. These are other clues inherent in your natal map that will open the Path for you to those kinds of impersonal relationships that will point to how your “field of service” may be joined and integrated with other people of similar orientation.
I will end this article with some comments about the esoteric ruler of Aquarius and its purpose relative to Uranus, the traditional ruler of this sign. In soul-centered astrology, we work with Jupiter as the ruler of the Water Bearer. Jupiter is the planet of the Second Ray of Love/Wisdom. As I have already mentioned, Uranus is the planet governing all the social media outlets and the entire range of computerized products. It is the ruling planet of the Seventh Ray which deals with the ordering of the physical plane. Thus the purpose for all of our Twitterings, FaceBookings, endless messaging, and group gatherings via all things Uranian is to bring for the Ray of Love/Wisdom governed by what we call the Greater Benefic, the planet Jupiter. This is the hope, purpose, and aspiration of all men and woman of Goodwill at this time: Let Love and Wisdom Prevail on planet Earth.
