but will be a rotter and say it was too angry plus other neg emotions to be a genuine children’s Christmas movie and couldn’t abide it.
The one i love is “The Claus Family” (Finnish)
which could not be less like the American model, which gives insight into a different culture and delights the loving heart with its gentle caring for young children.
No way you are a rotter, brp ~ this film reflects the current status of the modern world, spoken in a old setting, how hope, love, joy and kindness must and will endure, how the bonds between species is one more delicate and magical than we think! Yes, the darkness and hate in this film is hard to take, not the usual cheery but maybe make-believe ‘christmas’ tale we prefer for children ~ but children know, they feel the intensity of modern day, and in this film it is shown to be something to grow stronger through mastering!!! Especially when Maggie Smith ‘unintentionally’ revealed an elven ear at the end… brilliant!! Absolutely brilliant!! Things are not always what they seem!!!

movies that create fear and paranoia in children…why? (Frozen II was continuous fear.) Visual anything has power over the psyche. It is so easy and cheap to sling around fear and anger and violence. Creating with humor and sweetness takes something else. Yes imo Christmas magic especially should be sweet for children. They’re not small adults with our outlook. Or receptacles for as you say”darkness and hate” which adults have manufactured and then try to justify. Let’s show them what love is!
