On the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre, we remember all those who were killed and the survivors who bravely continue to share their stories so that we never forget this painful part of our history. Take a moment to learn about what happened: https://t.co/RiqrSpKGNz
On #MemorialDay, grateful Americans pay tribute to the fallen heroes who gave their last full measure of devotion to safeguard our cherished freedom and ensure the survival of our sacred democracy.
On this solemn day of remembrance, let us honor our selfless servicemembers by renewing this vital pledge: that just as the military leaves no one behind on the battlefield, we must leave no veteran behind when they come home.
CORRECTED: On this day, 100 years ago, white mobs terrorized, tortured and murdered 300 Black people in one of the biggest attacks of racial violence in American history. https://t.co/vETlnbQu0Z

Massive fine for not talking to the press? This must change!
People come to see Naomi for the tennis. Why don’t athletes have the option of talking to the press if they want to? (Do guys on football teams get the option?) When you’ve just played your guts out on the court…this pressure to talk afterwards is wrong. Naomi am so with you!!
For anyone tempted to criticize #NaomiOsaka just know that it is possible to play in front of a crowd and be damn near paralyzed by anxiety and stress when peppered w/ (asinine) questions by the press. She does not owe the world her mental health. ✊🏾

A shocking question for American teenager Coco Gauff at the French Open has left many tennis fans convinced by Naomi Osaka’s controversial press conference boycott.
However, others have pointed to an eye-opening press conference with 17-year-old Gauff, as proof that Osaka’s concerns are justified.
The American teen sensation – who begins her Roland Garros campaign against World no. 212 Aleksandra Krunic on Tuesday – was asked by a journalist about being compared to fellow Americans, Serena and Venus Williams – the latter of whom she is partnering in the doubles.
“You are often compared to the Williams sisters. Maybe it’s because you’re black. But I guess it’s because you’re talented and maybe American too,” the reporter started off by saying.
“We could have a final between you and Serena. Is it something you hope for? I mean, 22 years separate you girls.”

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces.
During World War II, the American military was racially segregated, as was much of the federal

Let me just say something else about @naomiosaka decision. If she doesn't want to talk and protect her mental health, that is her prerogative. I am personally disgusted because people are acting like shit is normal in the world right now. IT IS NOT.
While everyone has also gone through something, for some people, it's been worse because of the rank racism focused on certain bodies in this world. I don't think I have to spell this out, you get my drift.
So Osaka's decision to withdraw is not weakness.. it is the strength to carve a space of wholeness and healing in a world that keeps trying to control our bodies and minds for consumption and $$$
Lots of people struggle with depression, and don't need to be dealing with folks peppering them with questions designed to cut one's self confidence. Some of us cope better than others, but no one needs to be constantly reminded of where they have f*cked up or fallen short.

Myanmar.
World Report 2022 Myanmar, Human Rights Watch.
“International pressure increased on the government to cooperate meaningfully with UN rights investigators, including UN Special Rapporteur Thomas Andrews and the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM), in pursuing accountability for grave rights violations against ethnic minority groups. The International Court of Justice unanimously ordered Myanmar to take provisional measures to protect the Rohingya from genocide as Gambia’s case against Myanmar for violations of the Genocide Convention moves ahead. The court also mandated regular reports from Gambia and Myanmar on Myanmar’s compliance, although the reports remain confidential.”
At first Navratilova flat-out dismissed Naomi’s reason for not wanting to do press conferences on air (I heard it myself) by saying she needed to “woman up” and learn to compartmentalize better. I guess after the dragging she got, she softened a bit, but still accused Naomi of making things worse by withdrawing after the tournament officials threatened to expel her. Some ally. 🙄
She and Billie Jean King both disappointed me big time. They didn’t advocate for a female athlete trying to protect herself and had nothing to say about the tournaments threatening that young woman’s career instead of working to provide a safer environment for all athletes. After all these years watching the shit Venus & Serena endured. This young woman said I’m not willing to just suck it up, it’s unhealthy and they basically just blathered about how back in the day they just shut up and took whatever came at them. Well, their experience is not her experience. Her mental health is not their mental health. Fuck that shit.

General Barry McCaffrey (ret.):
“This is putting the country at risk…”
“But as a senior military officer retired as he is, to be calling apparently for a coup against our democratic country, and he`s done this before, is extremely dangerous. Department of Justice is going to be hard-pressed to not consider whether this language is criminal in nature.”
Brian Williams:
“What do you think turned him, General?
Because for him to hold these views now means a dramatic reversal of all the training and indoctrination that our flag officers go through to work up to the rank he occupied in the U.S. Army. It was alarming to see him enjoying a banquet dinner with Putin on the Russia television coverage of that event early on.
But what turns a man like Mike Flynn?”

“June 10: Eclipse of the Sun at 19.47 Gemini at 10.54 am conjunct Mercury at 20 Gemini and widely square Neptune at 23.08 Pisces.
Briefly, an eclipse of the Sun indicates the end of one set of circumstances and the beginning of another. The house position tells you where this event is going to occur. This sense of “endings and new beginnings” (a solar eclipse is after all, a New Moon) does not have to be negative. There are things, relationships, ideas, things that have had their period of usefulness and now must “move along.” In this respect, solar eclipses can also indicate “a place of new opportunity.” As the eclipse is in Gemini conjunct Mercury in Gemini, I would think (good Gemini word), that the eclipse would offer a place for new opportunities for speaking, writing, and thinking after an “old place” was replaced.
Now I try to avoid bringing up the subject of DT as I am so glad not to hear that voice or see that face on a daily basis (even if it was in the brief time it took me to change the channel or press a delete button). But my astrological interest is stronger than my personal disdain, so please note that in the man’s natal map his Uranus is at 17.54 Gemini, his nodes are at 20.48 Gemini/Sagittarius, the Sun is at 22.56 Gemini, and his Moon is at 21.12 Sagittarius. This means that the Solar eclipse (19.47 Gemini) is right atop this entire grouping (with transiting Neptune at 23.08 Pisces). Je crois que le destin est enfin arrive’—so much more dramatic to say this in French—I believe that his destiny has finally arrived…in the form of karmic returns from illegal financial interplay (and perhaps, from previous sexual escapades as well). I get this from Neptune in Pisces transiting his 8th house ruling the natal 8th house (but in Libra in the natal 2nd) square his Gemini/Sagittarius grouping of planets. The unfolding/unraveling of this mess will take those involved until the end of 2022 to process (Neptune enters 23 Pisces and no longer retrogrades to affect his degrees in Gemini/Sagittarius beginning in mid-January 2023. Until then, Neptune will “have his way” with Mr. T.“

Remarks by President Biden at the 153rd National Memorial Day Observance
“Democracy is more than a form of government. It’s a way of being; it’s a way of seeing the world.
Democracy means the rule of the people — the rule of the people. Not the rule of monarchs, not the rule of the moneyed, not the rule of the mighty — literally, the rule of the people.
The lives of billions, from antiquity to our own hour, have been shaped by the battle between aspirations of the many and the greed of the few. Between people’s right to self-determination and the self-seeking of the dictator. Between dreams of democracy and appetites for autocracy, which we’re seeing around the world.
Our troops have fought this battle on fields around the world, but also the battle of our time. And the mission falls to each of us, each and every day. Democracy itself is in peril, here at home and around the world.
What we do now — what we do now, how we honor the memory of the fallen, will determine whether or not democracy will long endure. We all take it for granted. We think we learned in school. You have to — every generation has to fight for it.”
Folks are all for mental health until a Black woman sets a boundary. Then she’s uppity, self absorbed, entitled, etc. Naomi Osaka is one of the best in the world, let that be enough. Damn.

Seems ‘critical theory’ is a buzzword for Marxian theory, used for analyzing power relationships. Plus we can’t have their white target base aligning themselves politically with people of color – right? Turning people who should be allies against each other, creating a false ideology so you’ll act against your own interests, is all they have. They have nothing and will only take. “Cheney fires back at Flynn over coup remark”

MICHAEL FLYNN,
Doom’s former National Security Adviser said:
“I want to know why what happened in Myanmar can’t happen here—no reason”
Fomenting armed rebellion – isn’t that illegal?
Am trusting the FBI and others are watching Flynn and his people
who want a military coup to install trump.
The GOP created these monsters. Since Newt Gingrich and Rush Limpballs they have cultivated the crazy with lies and hatred toward the Government.
Look here girl, you’re the entertainment. You do as I say, not as I do.
Ow!
A good thing happening in Nevada!

Fellow athletes rally around Osaka after withdrawal

Note that they are all POC. I have seen only Navratilova supporting her. The french tennis fucktard gave a statement and then ducked the press.
Some ally. 🙄
I guess I only saw the later martina. Bummer.
Billie too? That sucks.

Separating children and treating them animals was the thug’s worst crime and yet 70+ million racists were ok with it.
COUP D’ÉTAT:
The sudden violent overthrow of an existing Government by a small group.
Michael Flynn, fmr National Security Adviser and ret. Army Lieutenant General,
says he is FOR IT in the United States.
Money, money and power builds tremendous greed
Good Morning!

We must support her to stay on track regardless.
regardless of the games, and not let this mistreatment turn her against what she loves.

Sicilian Mafia boss Giovanni Brusca, whose grisly crimes include having a child’s body dissolved in acid, has been released from prison.
Dubbed the “people slayer”, Brusca has confessed to his role in over 100 killings, including the assassination of Italy’s top anti-Mafia prosecutor Giovanni Falcone.
But Brusca became an informant, helping prosecutors hunt down fellow mobsters.
His release after 25 years in jail has outraged his victims’ relatives.
He will now be on parole for four years.

inr? if the ‘law enforcement’ has to plea deal with a mass murderer to rat out on the other murdering thugs, that shows their utter incompetence. Just like the US ‘law enforcement’ against a traitorous seditious insurrectionist.
thx amk, brilliant interview on “The Ezra Klein Show” pod.
PBO: “It presumes none of us have a monopoly on truth.”
Hope it’s true. The majority of oldies fucked up and are still fucking up things. Here is to the future fucking up the past.

Eh we can’t have our young people being educated about real history.
Let’s align working women and men of all colors. And btw we need schools and colleges that encourage our children to think.
Latest news confirms Manchin does NOT back the Dem Voting Rights Bill.
We’re up against the wall, make or break right now.
You’ve got Flynn full on coup language.
Manchin must know that America turning autocratic endangers the entire world.
–Do we have any, any response to any of the well-coordinated right wing attacks on this country?
Just give me a sign.
oops late for signs. DO SOMETHING.
I just called Dick Durbin’s office and shared my concern with his office. I then called the WH, but the comment line is working yet so I had to leave my comment on the website. I pulled no punches. Personally, I think this voting rights issue needs to be the ONLY thing the administration is focused on right now. Not infrastructure, gun safety or any other issues. Because if this voting rights does not get settled, none of this other things will matter!!! I love Joe, but I do not think he or any of the other Dems see this ON FIRE issue.
SOON..,
