Good morning all. It is a good day! First day of spring break so we have a week off from homeschooling. Mommy took off today and tomorrow so she and Aliya can do things together. 🙂 I returned to the Y Friday after one year and a day. Whew! The weekend soreness was something else. I returned this morning and it was easier than Friday. 🙂 We returned to in person church yesterday after exactly one year. It was amazing and wonderful!! The sun is shining before rain tonight. 🙂 The Biden administration is saving us and moving us forward a little each day, but we all need to do our part to not end up back in a mess.

    Michelle Obama #ourforeverFLOTUS 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’m sure the FBI has a tough job to do but gohtdammit the Capital is how far from the J. Edgar Hoover building, and they’re still having trouble identifying the insurrectionist? Are we also to assume that this same FBI doesn’t have a clue as to the hierarchy of the Black Lives Matter Movement.

      • March 15, 2021 at 6:53 pm

Don, I’m still pissed that they let the insurrectionists stroll free from the Capitol grounds. The Feds know how to kettle a mass crowd. It’s almost like they didn’t want to arrest them. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Maybe they were all flashing “FOT Passes…”

“Deb Haaland Becomes First Native American Cabinet Secretary”

“Representative Deb Haaland of New Mexico made history on Monday when the Senate confirmed her as President Biden’s secretary of the Interior, making her the first Native American to lead a cabinet agency.

Ms. Haaland in 2018 became one of the first two Native American women elected to the House.
But her new position is particularly redolent of history because the department she now leads has spent much of its history abusing or neglecting America’s Indigenous people.

Beyond the Interior Department’s responsibility for the well-being of the nation’s 1.9 million Native people,
it oversees about 500 million acres of public land, federal waters off the United States coastline, a huge system of dams and reservoirs across the Western United States and the protection of thousands of endangered species.”

‘The Wealth Tax Is Popular Across America’
Senator Elizabeth Warren makes the case for the wealth tax:
“This would affect the top 1/10th of 1% in America. And it would be a way to raise about $3 trillion in revenue.
Joe Biden ran on raising taxes on the people at the very top and on giant corporations … (Republicans) get why this is popular.”

“White House Launches ‘Help is Here’ Tour”
“U.S. President Joe Biden travels Tuesday to a suburb of Philadelphia as his administration focuses on small businesses in its campaign to promote the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package he signed last week.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that Biden would highlight “how the Rescue Plan invests in small businesses — a key component of the package — including minority-owned businesses, so they can rehire and retain workers while keeping them safe.”

Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, are taking part in the effort as well, meeting with small business owners in Colorado on Tuesday after visiting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in the state.

“When it’s a package of this size,  people don’t always know how they benefit,” explained Psaki.

    Dear President Biden,

Please ban glyphosate poison sprays in America.
    Please ban ROUNDUP = Bayer…(Monsanto until 2018.

Ace Hardware stores and our supermarkets are loaded to the gills with this cancerous poison, shelf after shelf.
Meanwhile lawyers have ads out aimed at folks who already have cancers caused by this stuff…
ROUNDUP is routinely sprayed on our football fields, park greens, schools, regularly exposing our children, pets, produce, farm workers.

Billions have been paid out in compensation for cancers.
    Roundup is banned in Europe.
Why are we allowing warehouses of this deadly stuff to be unloaded upon Americans?

If you want to end cancer, start with this.
    -love

“CDC Purges Trump Era Junk Guidance In Quest To Restore Reputation”
“Maddow looks back at the Donald Trump administration’s practice of forcing the CDC to release politically motivated, unscientific Covid-19 guidance, and reports on the new leadership under the Biden administration ordering a review of past coronavirus guidance officially getting rid of the junk.”

Question: How many people did the Trump Administration kill with their lies?
    —No free pass!!

  48. March 16, 2021 at 2:03 pm

Senate Leader Schumer speaks to Maddow (excerpts from a long interview):
“If we don’t get Republican support, we have to move forward with big, bold action.”
“Everything will be on the table and we WILL move forward. We have to.”

    • March 16, 2021 at 2:06 pm

      Leader Schumer:
“You mentioned Deb Haaland. What a historic choice.
Native Americans have never had a seat at the table. Now they do. We put more money into the AARP bill for Native Americans than ever before. And she will stop the rape of our federal lands by the oil companies…”

“Rachel we are just getting started.
Our caucus knows from one end to the other that we need big, bold action.
Not just to get out of the Covid crisis, as difficult as that is. But also there were so many problems that America had before Covid started. We have to tackle them. There are many that we have to tackle. We have to tackle climate. We have to tackle income and racial inequality. We have to strengthen our democracy and not let the despicable activities that you mentioned earlier by these Republican legislators go on.”

“We have a big, bold agenda, but we’re getting it done. We’re going to have to get it done. Failure is not an option and we are just getting started.”

On the sudden assault on voting rights by GOP:
“What they’re doing is despicable and it’s racist. Racist. It’s Jim Crow.”

    • March 16, 2021 at 2:10 pm

Schumer’s We The People bill (S1) and the Biden Build Back Better proposal which combines climate change and green jobs….pay particular attention to people who are left out of the jobs market.
“We have a big agenda to do and our caucus knows we have to get it done. Will it be easy? No. Passing this AARP was not easy, but we have no choice if we want to move America forward. The good side of this is people saw when Democrats got in, it’s really making a difference in their lives.”

“…we would welcome Republican support, no question about it. And maybe some of them will see the light on some of these issues. But if we don’t get Republican support, we have to move forward with big, bold action and our caucus will come together.”

“I WILL put them on the floor and we will see on very popular issues where Republicans stand.
I recently said when the House passed the background checks bill, I’ll put it on the floor.
90% of the American people are for background checks. 80% of gun owners are for background checks.”

    • March 16, 2021 at 2:13 pm

“Every Democrat understands that we have to move forward in a very significant way…I have a leadership team we meet Monday night…where we discuss where to go. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and Joe Manchin and Mark Warner. And time and time again we respect each other’s views. We talk it through and then we move forward successfully. And that’s what I believe we will continue to do in a big, bold way. We have no choice. America needs it.”

Moving on from Trump’s judicial appointments…
“They had no understanding of walking in the other person’s shoes.
They were narrow, right wing often young people. So we have to restore the balance to the bench. And that’s of great urgency. And we will….We will move on and start appointing judges and redressing the imbalance that Trump put on the bench.”

“And tell your listeners we will change America in a big, bold way. We must.
It’s an imperative and failure is not an option.”
