In each of us, there's a story to be shared—a story that’s sacred and can bring us together. I had such a good time talking with the @WellReadBlkGirl Book Club about A Promised Land because just as they learned about my story, I had a chance to learn from theirs. pic.twitter.com/u6vAXUSK5s

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a traitors’ trip, That started beneath the Capitol, and ended on Jan 6th. The Rep was a mighty QAnon' man, a Tour Guide with a score. Some rioters surveilled that day for a three hour tour. A three hour tour.
The protest started getting rough, the rioters were cross. If not for the coverage of the leaders phones, the record would be lost. The MAGA would be boss. The schmucks made ground on the floor of our, unguarded seat of power.
“A U.S. Supreme Court decision from March 1978
continues to hinder tribal sovereignty on a daily basis.
The ruling in Oliphant v. Suquamish Indian Tribe
stripped tribes of most criminal prosecutions against non-Indians.
Those cases became the responsibility of the federal government. In his dissent, Justice Thurgood Marshall wrote “I am of the view that Indian tribes enjoy, as a necessary aspect of their retained sovereignty, the right to try and punish all persons who commit offenses against tribal law within the reservation.”
The Violence Against Women Act was an attempt to remedy the persistent trend of non-Native abusers of Native women slipping through the cracks of the federal justice system.

It’s bad enough we’ve got to work around Manchin’s dumb ass. Now we’ve got Bernie stupidly forcing Manchin and others to dig in their heels. Bernie makes a mess of everything he touches. It’s the only consistent thing about politics over the past forty years.
I loathe everything about this man, he is an impediment full of dampness and drab. This fucker is a common cold, not sick enough to go to the doctor but sick enough to fuck up your entire weekend.
Love how Joe Biden’s White House rolls! Right in the middle of all the amendments and voting and annoyance, they congratulate all progress made to this point! Jen and Ron are doing a fine job.
Grateful for everyone who got this compromise on the American Rescue Plan so we can move it forward!https://t.co/iqpWeU7ZKv

Thinking of every Senator working in the early hours on behalf of the People tonight. Thank you for staying at the Capitol after all that has happened there – and we are still in a pandemic. Thank you for working up until the Covid Relief Bill vote. We need you soo much. Thank you, thank you.
Even our Poet Laureate can’t escape the ugliness of racism. Damn!
@TheAmandaGorman was stopped by a security officer for "looking suspicious." Then had the humiliation of proving she wasn't by unlocking the door. It's so sad that resisting that humiliation part gets people killed. And even a poet laureate has to face that truth if Black.

In a sense, he was right. I AM A THREAT: a threat to injustice, to inequality, to ignorance. Anyone who speaks the truth and walks with hope is an obvious and fatal danger to the powers that be. https://t.co/hY9miR0b6J
A security guard tailed me on my walk home tonight. He demanded if I lived there because “you look suspicious.” I showed my keys & buzzed myself into my building. He left, no apology. This is the reality of black girls: One day you’re called an icon, the next day, a threat. https://t.co/MmANtQqpBs

Now, the Senate-passed bill goes briefly back to the House. There, it is expected to be passed quickly and then sent on to President Biden for his signature.
So now the Senate passed 1.9 Trillion dollar #CovidReliefBill goes to the House to reconcile differences in both bills and they vote on it and then send it to @POTUS to sign it into law.
The Covid relief bill now moves to the House, which can either pass it as-is, as amended, or try to amend it which would put the bill into conference. The ball heads back to @SpeakerPelosi’s court. She’s been through this a few good times including on Obamacare.
In the end, Dems remained united behind an enormous package nearly three times the 2009 stimulus that will help untold numbers of people. Amid two of the biggest US crises of modern times, it's sobering to imagine what we'd be seeing now if it weren't for the Georgia runoffs.
Thanks to Georgia voters, the United States Senate just passed the most generous economic relief package for working and middle class families in American history.
Georgie is on my mind also Jacqueline. Thank God and the voters who gave tus he two senators from Georgia. I am celebrating the passing of the recovery bill from the senate and my second covid vaccine shot administered this morning at 10:05. 🙂 🙂

Elections matter—and we’re seeing why. Congratulations to the Biden Administration and to the American people on a COVID relief bill that will improve the lives of families across the country.
This landmark legislation will help families pay rent and put food on the table, lift millions of children out of poverty, make health care more affordable, aid small businesses, fund broad-based vaccination efforts, and make it easier for states to reopen schools.
This is the kind of progress that’s possible when we elect leaders across government who are devoted to making people’s lives better—and a reminder of why it’s so important to vote.
Whilst Republican senators staggered off to sleep after a pointless all nighter for the covid relief bill, Schummer briefly had a 2/3rds majority and called cloture on Merrick Garland!. Debate is over! Vote to confirm is scheduled for next week. Needs simple majority. Hahaha!!!
I know the left's kind of into glasses being half-empty–but, hey! Biden, with a 50-50 Senate and 221-211 House, is going to sign the biggest government spending bill since…when?–LBJ?–FDR?. And lots of it goes to lower income families and the public sector. Lefties: Cheer up!
Jeffrey Epstein got tax benefits when you passed the 2017 tax cuts for the wealthy. It left low and moderate wage earners behind. There was not even a crisis then and you were emboldened to give money to the wealthy.
