    Happy Monday Everybody! 😄
Today is the first day of Women’s History Month!

    Congresswoman Cori Bush:
“Minimum Wage Hike Could Be ‘Difference Between Life And Death’ For Some”
“We’re talking about $15, Chris. We’re not talking about making anybody rich. This is the difference between life and death for people.”

  3. March 1, 2021 at 1:18 pm

By 2026 = raising the minimum wage to $15 over 5 years!!
So even Manchin gets his starvation 11 dollar wish during that time. Let’s see him live on that.
“In 2018, the federal minimum wage of $7.25 was worth 14.8 percent less than when it was last raised in 2009, after adjusting for inflation, and 28.6 percent below its peak value in 1968, when the minimum wage was the equivalent of $10.15 in 2018 dollars.
This decline in purchasing power means low-wage workers have to work longer hours now just to achieve the standard of living that was considered the bare minimum half a century ago.”
    (Cooper, epi.org, 2019)

Hey there, Dudette! I think the experience in Seattle with raising the minimum wage to $15 showed no loss of business. People who earn their income paycheck to paycheck are long overdue for a raise. Damn GOP saw no problem with giving billions of tax cuts to corporations and rich people which did NOT trickle down to most of the country. Why do people vote for these heartless a-holes?

    David Ignatius:
“Opinion: Biden stood up for Jamal Khashoggi. What happened to him should never happen again.”
“President Biden has decided to “name and shame” Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,
by disclosing a CIA report that says the crown prince knew about and probably ordered the operation that killed Post contributing columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
Release of the CIA report, (last Friday)
will provide a measure of accountability, at last, for Khashoggi’s grisly murder.
But the man who oversaw that killing will continue to live and govern in royal splendor.”

Heather McGee: “The Sum of Us”
‘”The Sum of Us’ Tallies the Cost of Racism for Everyone”
“As the pandemic has laid bare, the United States is a rich country that also happens to be one of the stingiest when it comes to the welfare of its own people. McGhee, who spent years working on economic policy for Demos, a liberal think tank, says it was the election of Donald Trump in 2016 by a majority of white voters that made her realize how most white voters weren’t “operating in their own rational economic self-interest.” Despite Trump’s populist noises, she writes, his agenda “promised to wreak economic, social and environmental havoc on them along with everyone else.”

      WE CAN DO IT TOO.
      AND WE MUST.

      Trump’s
      treason, sedition,
      corruption,
knowingly allowing hundreds of thousands of Americans to die.
separating infants and children from their parents illegally…some of those children died.

Q: How does it help the U.S.A. if we cover it up?

I just finished Episode 3 of PBO and Bruce Springsteen’s podcast “Renegades: Born in the USA.” They focus on American music and how it shaped them growing up. They also cover President Obama shocking the world when he sang Al Green at the Apollo and when he sang Amazing Grace at Rev. Pinckney’s funeral. All three episodes are great, but this one is my favorite so far. ♥️

I had enough of Oprah and Gayle when Oprah did that interview with on HBO with those two liars Wade and James. No interview with anyone from the Jackson family to get their side . Michael Jackson gave her a interview in 1993 when he was the biggest star on the planet, bigger then Oprah. When Michael died Katherine Jackson let Oprah interview Michael’s kids. And Gayle attempt to go after Kobe before his body was in the ground. No interview about Harvey Weinstein though, who was a friend of Oprah.

President Biden did not name Amazon or express views on the results of the vote.
“Workers in Alabama, and all across America, are voting on whether to organize a union in their workplace,” Biden, 78, said, calling their vote “vitally important.”
“Let me be clear: It’s not up to me to decide whether anyone should join a union,” Biden said. “But let me be even more clear: It’s not up to an employer to decide that either. The choice to join a union is up to the workers — full stop.”

“About 6,000 Amazon workers in its Bessemer, Alabama, warehouse are voting this month on whether to join the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, The Washington Post previously reported. If they vote to do so, the group would become the first Amazon workers to unionize. The New York Times reported that Amazon currently has 400,000 American workers.”

    President Biden said on Sunday:
“there should be no intimidation, no coercion, no threats, no anti-union propaganda.”
“No supervisor should confront employees about their union preferences,” he added.
“Every worker should have a free and fair choice to join a union,” the president said.
“The law guarantees that choice. And it’s your right, not that of an employer. It’s your right. No employer can take that right away.
