Both Barack and Michelle Obama are expert, inspiring, caring mentors fo0r young people around the world, especially those others may overlook out of racism or just indifference.

    Good evening Todville.

Congratulations Dudette on getting vaccinated and the story of your dad handing out the package with $ and masks is heartwarming.

I got my first shot yesterday. So far no reaction! So happy to get this. So many of my friends are getting vaccinated. So happy so many are finally getting covered.

Agree 100%-every word. My neighbor was complaining about Biden yesterday. He was so angry about something… thinking he would switch from being a Dem to an Independent. I told him why is it Repugs stick
together like glue, but Dems stick together like ice cream on a hot summer day. We get all emotional on single issue items and can’t see the big picture. WTF is wrong with some of these DEMS?

DITTO TO THIS THREAD! Yes to all other comments about this. The dang filibuster must go. I was listening with ‘a third ear’ yesterday to Senator Pedilla from CA. The discussion was about this bill, getting it passed, etc. He was very positive and said something like “I think they will try it for a couple of months (Manchin and Sinema holding the filibuster) but if there’s still NO support from Rs, it just may go.” 🤞🤞🤞🤞

    • February 28, 2021 at 12:34 pm

I get it when the FURY is about the minimum wage = $ 15,000 a year.
$15 an hour is no picnic either.
And it is a 5 year phase in!!
      Bring back earmarks.
–NOW, NOW, NOW get rid of the filibuster.

Totally agree with this thread Jazziz2. We love to eat our own, and the MSM love to promote it.

    • February 28, 2021 at 3:10 pm

1.9 Trillion$ will be a HUGE accomplishment. The minimum wage is equally huge for survival after that.
–what are coal coporations telling Manchin…will he block everything going forward?

A beautiful celebration of a life well-lived, to join with all who loved her! Enjoy every minute, Gazelle, the laughter and the tears, your Mama will be laughing with you!

We surely did. So many stories. My Dad used to tease my Mum that she was actually born on 2/29, leap year (of course the year she was born wasn’t a leap year). She’d counter back with: Well you’re married to a very young woman! 😇They were together for over 67 years! Until Dad passed. We learned love & grit from them, & the grandkids had blessed time & love with them. 💞💞

    In ‘Small Axe’,
Steve McQueen Explores Britain’s Caribbean Heritage:

‘McQueen, who was born in West London to Grenadian and Trinidadian parents, is one of Britain’s most gifted and garlanded Black filmmakers. He’s best known to American audiences as the director of the star-studded “Widows” from 2018 and “12 Years a Slave,” in 2013, for which he became the first Black director of a best picture Oscar winner. When he collected that trophy, McQueen was already developing the drama project with the BBC that would become “Small Axe.”
Today, the finished product comprises five discrete works of varying lengths (the shortest is 70 minutes; the longest 128 minutes), all directed and co-written by McQueen.”

      Notting Hill riots.
“Mangrove,” the series opener, focuses on the sensational trial of a group of Black activists in 1971.
They were accused of inciting a riot during a protest against the targeted police harassment of patrons at The Mangrove, a Caribbean restaurant in London’s Notting Hill district that was a thriving hub for Black intellectuals and artists.
—‘Mangrove’ now on Netflix….started watching it yesterday.

Bernie can’t say “he” wasn’t given the chance by President Biden to pull this off. I agree he did not make it happen – although he wouldn’t necessarily be singled out as the cause, if he didn’t do that to himself – so maybe he’ll stop yelling and get to work on the next step, now. Sorry but this has me annoyed!

how old would you say a young reader would be….my granddaughter is 18…i plan to purchase “Becoming” for her to take to college….should i get the regular version or the young reader edition…what do you think

        March 1, 2021 at 11:15 am

I assumed by young readers she meant children and younger teens. My guess would’ve been that an 18 yr old college student would be more interested in the grown-up version. But, what do I know?
