YouTube suspends Donald Trump’s channel
YouTube has become the latest social network to suspend President Trump.
The Google-owned service has prevented his account from uploading new videos or live-streaming material for a minimum of seven days, and has said it may extend the period.
The firm said the channel had broken its rules over the incitement of violence.
The president had posted several videos on Tuesday night, some of which remain online.
Jim Steyer – who previously helped coordinate similar action against Facebook last year – had called on Google to go further and take the president’s channel offline.
“We hope they will make it permanent. It is disappointing that it took a Trump-incited attack to get here, but appears that the major platforms are finally beginning to step up,” he tweeted after the suspension.

The media is reporting that a number of Republicans are in agreement with the impeachment. These are the same Congress people who have allowed tRump and company to do whatever the heck he wanted. They lied and made themselves look stupid by jumping through hoops trying to defend the indefensible. THEY are now saying they are okay with DEMOCRATS going through the impeachment process.
Is this a case of having your cake and eating it too? From the few Republicans who are openly saying they agree with the impeachment to the ones who say that the impeachment shouldn’t happen [note they didn’t say it wasn’t deserved], the one thing they have is COVER. They will get rid of the thorn in their side who many privately admit they dislike. They hope that tRump will be weakened within [what’s left of] the Republican Party. Yet, they will be able to say that they did not vote for it. They get the benefit without taking the risk.
History will not show them in a good light, but for them, it comes down to PERSONAL desires and salvaging THEIR political careers. Not what is best for the country.

In addition to the metal detectors, there should also be a sweep of the chambers BEFORE and AFTER sessions. I would not put it past these extremists to have feigned their indignancy to get their weapons into the chamber and hide them somewhere knowing that they won’t get away with avoiding the metal detectors in the future. I’m among the ones who believe that they provided the information that allowed the insurrectionists to easily maneuver throughout the Capitol.
