Where do I start? Will begin with myself though that seems selfish. On Dec. 18, I was so sick with awful diarrhea, probably close to food poisoning. It was from my homemade chicken noodle soup earlier that week, then the night of the 17th. It bothered my hubby and daughter but nothing like me. My stomach hasn’t been 100% since then. Saturday night I was very restless, awake and asleep so felt awful yesterday. Last night the same and had some diarrhea again early this morning. Meds have stopped that except I am exhausted and sooooo sleepy and uneasy stomach, I’m doing lots of liquids including pedalite. Slight headache because I’m so sleepy.
Memphis family: Husband’s brother, almost 93, had to be admitted to hospital around Thanksgiving, not COVID, but bronchitis and other issues for an almost 93 yr old. It was a small hospital, overrun with COVID and because of negotiations between insurance and home health, he was there 3 days longer than he should have been. Was home for 24 hrs and was so bad, family took him to Baptist in Memphis. He had COVID and died early morning Dec 07. His daughter and one son both got it, neither really bad case. The person we were all so worried about was his son in law — very high risk. Sure enough, he came down with it and died Christmas Eve night. So, husband’s niece lost father and husband in a 2.5 week span.

Today has been THE WORST day of all my shifts and years in nursing and that's saying alot considering this year. At 0700 a 5yr old was brought in and coded for over an hour before being called ,why? Because his fucking family had to have a fucking Christmas get together

Sydney is battling a new outbreak after months of no local cases.
The virus’ re-appearance a week before Christmas sparked a swift re-introduction of restrictions in the city, including clampdowns on holiday gatherings and a lockdown of the worst-affected region, the Northern Beaches.
The outbreak has already grown to 129 cases.
On Tuesday, Australia’s Immigration Minister Alex Hawke said he had been “shocked” by the scenes at Bronte Beach. He issued a warning to other visitors.
“If somebody is threatening public safety or health, their visa can be cancelled and revoked,” he said.
However he did not specify how or if authorities would track down the partygoers – none of whom were fined or otherwise penalised according to New South Wales state police.
