Congrats on first!
OMG. Received his book “A Promised Land” from a friend for Christmas. I’m good.
I too am happy with my Xmas gifts two out of my four kids got me Promised Lands. Both from Amazon and I am an Amazon Prime member too so I called Amazon up Xmas morning and arranged for them to credit me the cost of one copy and it will be picked up to ship back on Monday. That was easy! I also got the book Collections of Obama’s speeches which is beautifully bound. Shade by the Photographer Pete and the Ruth Ginsburg book. So that will keep me reading for a long time. The best part was we all spent an hour and a half together on Zoom Christmas morning.

Lewis Hamilton says Black Lives Matter gave him ‘extra drive’ in 2020
Lewis Hamilton says the Black Lives Matter movement helped drive him on to his seventh Formula 1 world title.
Hamilton, 35, took a knee on the grid and wore anti-racism slogans in support of the cause during the season.
The Briton’s Mercedes team also adopted a black livery for the 2020 campaign in a stand against discrimination.
Hamilton, who guest edited BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Saturday, said: “I had this extra drive in me to get to the end of those races.”
He was voted as the 2020 BBC Sports Personality of the Year earlier this month after equalling Michael Schumacher’s record of winning seven World Championships and passing the German’s total of 91 grands prix victories.
On Saturday, Hamilton told historian and presenter Professor David Olusoga: “It was a different drive than what I’ve had in me in the past – to get to the end of those races first so that I could utilise that platform [for Black Lives Matter] and shine the light as bright as possible.”
Asked by Olusoga if he had been concerned about the response to his stance, Hamilton replied: “There is no way that I could stay silent. And once I said that to myself, I didn’t hold any fear.”

China will overtake the US to become the world’s largest economy by 2028, five years earlier than previously forecast, a report says.
The UK-based Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) said China’s “skilful” management of Covid-19 would boost its relative growth compared to the US and Europe in coming years.
Meanwhile India is tipped to become the third largest economy by 2030.
The CEBR releases its economic league table every year on 26 December.
Although China was the first country hit by Covid-19, it controlled the disease through swift and extremely strict action, meaning it did not need to repeat economically paralysing lockdowns as European countries have done.
As a result, unlike other major economies, it has avoided an economic recession in 2020 and is in fact estimated to see growth of 2% this year.

“For some time, an overarching theme of global economics has been the economic and soft power struggle between the United States and China,” says the CEBR report. “The Covid-19 pandemic and corresponding economic fallout have certainly tipped this rivalry in China’s favour.”
The report says that after “a strong post-pandemic rebound in 2021”, the US economy will grow by about 1.9% annually from 2022-24 and then slow to 1.6% in the years after that.
By contrast the Chinese economy is tipped to grow by 5.7% annually until 2025, and 4.5% annually from 2026-2030.
China’s share of the world economy has risen from just 3.6% in 2000 to 17.8% now and the country will become a “high-income economy” by 2023, the report says.

The EU is launching a co-ordinated vaccine rollout to fight Covid-19, in what the bloc’s top official says is a “touching moment of unity”.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Saturday the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine had been delivered to all 27 member states.
Some countries started administering the jabs on Saturday, saying they were not prepared to wait another day.

My daughter did six months of covid duty wearing those horrible PPE’s for 8 hours a day. I had to stay 220 KM away from her due to quarantine lockdowns. My wife and daughter could not see each other face to face for six months though they both lived in the same home. They lived like hermits in the same house.
