    Congratulations Representative Debra Haaland!!!!

    “Congresswoman Haaland grew up in a military family;
her father was a 30-year combat Marine who was awarded the Silver Star Medal for saving six lives during Vietnam, and her mother is a Navy veteran who was a federal employee for 25 years in Indian education. She knows the sacrifices made by military families because her family moved throughout the country during her father’s military service; as a result, she attended 13 different public schools.

As a single mother, she volunteered at her daughter’s pre-school in order to afford an early childhood education. Like many New Mexicans, she had to rely on food stamps at times as a single parent, has lived paycheck-to-paycheck, and struggled to put herself through college. Though hard work and determination, she earned degrees from the University of New Mexico and UNM Law School. Congresswoman Haaland and her daughter, who recently graduated from the University of New Mexico, are still paying off student loans.

For several years, she ran her own small business producing and canning Pueblo Salsa and later became the first Chairwoman elected to the Laguna Development Corporation Board of Directors, overseeing business operations of the second largest tribal gaming enterprise in New Mexico. Deb successfully advocated for the Laguna Development Corporation to create policies and commitments to earth-friendly business practices. Deb is a former tribal administrator and has administered a local service provider for adults with developmental disabilities.

She is a 35th generation New Mexican who is an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Laguna,
and also has Jemez Pueblo heritage. After running for New Mexico Lieutenant Governor in 2014, Haaland became the first Native American woman to be elected to lead a State Party. She used her experience reaching out to communities who are often forgotten during the electoral process during the two Obama presidential campaigns. During her time as State Party Chair, she traveled to Standing Rock to stand side-by-side with the community to protect tribal sovereignty and advocate vital natural resources.

Starting in 2016, Haaland has served as an Honorary Commander of Kirtland Air Force Base which gives her a better understanding of its missions and effects on New Mexico’s economy.”

“A Rural School Under Pressure To Stay Open: ‘People Are Just Rough And Tough’
“”One afternoon this week, the bell had just rung and kids were emptying out of the small elementary school
and into the snowy parking lot, almost as if it’s 2019 and there is no pandemic.
No one appears to be wearing a mask,
which is just fine with parents like Cassandra Folkman.
“I don’t make them wear ’em anywhere we go,” Folkman says. “I don’t wear one and they don’t.”
She’s sitting in her idling pickup waiting to pick up her kindergartner and second grader.

Speaker Pelosi Statement on COVID-19 Vaccine:

“According to government continuity guidelines, Congressional Leadership has been informed
by the Office of the Attending Physician that Members of the House and Senate are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. The Attending Physician further stated to Members ‘My recommendation to you is absolutely unequivocal: there is no reason why you should defer receiving this vaccine.’

With confidence in the vaccine and at the direction of the Attending Physician, I plan to receive the vaccine in the next few days. Even with a vaccine, I will continue to follow CDC guidelines by continuing to wear a mask and take other science-based steps to stop the spread of the virus.

“We must all continue to embrace testing, tracing, treatment, mask wearing and social distancing as the vaccine is being distributed. It is imperative that we ensure that the vaccine will be free and delivered in a fair, equitable manner to as many Americans as soon as possible and that we accelerate its manufacture, including by invoking the Defense Production Act.”

      John Brennan,
      former CIA Director, to Hayes:
“Well it appears as though this is the work of the Russian SVR as Nicole said.
Which is basically the rough equivalent of CIA. They’re the Russian group entity that collects intelligence against foreign targets. And their primary foreign target is the U.S. government and U.S. high tech firms. And so this is a very, very damaging breach of those systems and networks that if you’re able to penetrate them, you have access to just troves and troves of information of great intelligence value to Russia. And so this seems like it’s a very creative and unfortunately very successful attack given the scope, since it went after so many government departments and agencies as well as private firms. But as it was pointed out, the duration that they have been in those networks, and then the ability to extract information apparently out of it and defeat what’s called the ‘Einstein sensor system’ which is designed to detect the extraction of information to different IP addresses, that could in fact be those mechanisms that the Russians used to get information out. As Nicole said, this appears to be an intelligence collection activity, but I wouldn’t take great, great comfort in just thinking that the SVR which is traditionally an intelligence collection agency, is not also going to be potentially used to deploy malware that could lie silent for a while, that could have disabling and destructive capabilities that the Russians could decide to activate at certain times.”

    • December 18, 2020 at 3:58 pm

      John Brennan:
“Now also I should point out though, it does seem as though this is the unclassified networks that are very, very important and contain very sensitive information, but the very sensitive and mission critical networks are classified networks in the Intelligence Community and in the National Nuclear Security Agency. But if they’re able to infect these business networks and the cancer is metastasizing throughout the systems, there are things that could be done to disable all of those support systems that go into supporting critical missions.”

    • December 18, 2020 at 4:03 pm

Hayes: “It seems to me that there’s some response that has to happen here above just cyber-defense in terms of how this is broached as a foreign policy matter. What do you think?”
      Brennan:
“Well yes, I think first and foremost the U.S. government needs to understand exactly what has happened and try to then prevent further damage from taking place. And it seems as though they are still uncovering the various places and networks where the Russians apparently were able to access. And so I think that is the primary responsibility of the cybersecurity professionals. And also in the high tech. As Nicole pointed out there are supply chain issues here that really are quite complex and complicated that defy easy solutions. But as far as dealing with Russia, you know we can decide to sanction individuals within the SVR who have been identified as behind this very unfortunately, a successful breach of our systems. We’ve done that with the Chinese and others. And there have been breaches of government systems before. Remember the very large breach of the OPM systems and networks that gave China a treasure trove of information. But this again is a feature of this digital environment that rides on the worldwide web, that very ingenious and cyber actors can exploit to be able to access these networks and then pull out information. Or, again potentially disable and destruct networks that can have a very, very grave and damaging impact on our national security.”

    • December 18, 2020 at 4:05 pm

Hayes: “Obviously 2016 was a year in which there was this cyber attack on the U.S. election.
And that went beyond just extraction of information, right? It was actually used in a very explicit way to interfere in the election, to sabotage one campaign over the other. The president never acknowledging that…making excuses for it. Back in 2017 he talked about how he and Putin discussed forming an ‘impenetrable cyber security unit’, said election hacking and ‘many other negative things will be guarded’. Which I don’t think happened. And then I want to play for you what Senator Mitt Romney said today who issued a very strong statement about the absence of any kind of response from the Administration..(…)
What do you think of that?”
      John Brennan:
“Any other president would have made this his or her first, second, and third priority at the first instance of being aware of the magnitude of this breach. But unfortunately we have Donald Trump who continues to push out this theory of fraudulent election and ignoring a very, very serious and damaging attack basically, against our systems that again have given, apparently the Russians, free access to so much critically important information that we rely on for our national security. So the Biden Administration is going to now have one more very, very messy issue that it needs to address from Day One. But the fact that Donald Trump does not address this, it’s not shocking or surprising at all. But it is unconscionable. It is disgraceful. And it is something that is again putting the United States at greater risk vis à vis our adversaries.”

Since the question of election fraud seems to be in play, what about questions about Mitch McConnell’s re-election?

An investigation of Kentucky voting results by DCReport raises significant questions about the vote tallies in McConnell’s state.

==> McConnell racked up huge vote leads in traditionally Democratic strongholds, including counties that he had never before carried.

==> There were wide, unexplained discrepancies between the vote counts for presidential candidates and down-ballot candidates.

==> Significant anomalies exist in the state’s voter records. Forty percent of the state’s counties carry more voters on their rolls than voting-age citizens.

==> Kentucky and many other states using vote tabulation machines made by Election Systems & Software all reported down-ballot race results at significant odds with pre-election polls.

==? Even in counties that voted overwhelmingly for Democrats as recently as the 2019 gubernatorial election, there were a staggering number of Democrats voting Republican in 2020.

    • December 19, 2020 at 8:45 am

In a Dec. 4 filing in Georgia, Trump’s legal team referred to a “machine-controlled algorithm deliberately run” by a voting machine vendor, Dominion Voting Systems. They allege this algorithm “generally took more than 2.5% of the votes from Mr. Biden and flipped them to Mr. Trump.” So Trump’s own legal team, instead of providing evidence of fraud by Biden’s side, may have inadvertently revealed fraud benefiting Trump. In describing a deliberate, vendor installed, machine-controlled algorithm automatically taking a percentage of Biden’s votes and giving them to Trump, they certainly are outlining how fraud could have been executed.

Trump’s team claims Dominion was the machine vendor embedding algorithms to “flip” votes but is Trump pointing to one machine vendor to distract from another?

In Kentucky, when looking at counties where the numbers leap out on behalf of Mitch McConnell, none used Dominion machines. Most used machines from Election Systems & Software (ES&S), a Dominion competitor. If you swap ES&S for Dominion in the alleged vote-flipping scheme, you may arrive at an alternate explanation for why Amy McGrath’s numbers weren’t lining up and correlating with Biden’s.

    • December 19, 2020 at 8:46 am

Significantly, Trump and his post-election legal team have pointed at Dominion voting machines and implored courts to look into this automated vote-flipping premise—but only in states that he lost. So, let’s test it in ES&S states like Kentucky where Trump won.

Lindsey Graham’s race in South Carolina was so tight that he infamously begged for money, yet he won with a comfortable 10% lead—tabulated on ES&S machines throughout the state. In Susan Collins’s Maine, where she never had a lead in a poll after July 2, almost every ballot was fed through ES&S machines. Kentucky, South Carolina, Maine, Texas, Iowa and Florida are all states that use ES&S machines. Maybe the polls didn’t actually get it wrong.

When Trump says “look over here” at Dominion voting machines, maybe we should look at ES&S machines instead. When Republicans spout unfounded claims that Democrats stole the election, maybe we should be looking at Republican vote totals instead. And when Trump calls this the most fraudulent election in our history, maybe he knows of what he speaks.

737 Max: Boeing ‘inappropriately coached’ pilots in test after crashes.

US Senate investigators say that Boeing officials “inappropriately coached” test pilots during efforts to recertify the company’s 737 Max aircraft.

The planes were grounded in March 2019 following two deadly crashes.

Investigators accused Boeing and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials of “attempting to cover up important information”.

    ///

In its report on Friday, the Senate committee said that based on “corroborated whistleblower information and testimony during interviews of FAA staff”, it concluded that FAA and Boeing officials involved in the test had “established a pre-determined outcome to reaffirm a long-held human factor assumption related to pilot reaction time”.

“Boeing officials inappropriately coached test pilots in the MCAS simulator testing contrary to testing protocol,” it said. “It appears, in this instance, FAA and Boeing were attempting to cover up important information that may have contributed to the 737 Max tragedies.”

The report cited a whistleblower who claimed that Boeing officials prompted test pilots to use a particular control immediately before an exercise.
