President-elect Biden yesterday at health care team announcement:
“One out of every 22 people in our country, often with devastating consequences of health.
At this very moment, what is the outgoing administration asking the Supreme Court to do in the United States Supreme Court? To repeal the entirety of the Affordable Care Act when we need it most. A law that’s on the front lines against the pandemic, protects more than a hundred million Americans who live with pre-existing conditions, which will increase now including those with lung scarring and heart damage as a consequence of COVID-19.
It provides coverage for more than 20 million Americans who get the care they need if they’re showing symptoms of COVID-19. The law that fulfills our moral obligation here in America, healthcare is a right for all, not a privileged for a few. But as all of you know, I know that out of our collective pain, we’re going to find a collective purpose to control the pandemic, to save lives and to heal as a nation. Today, I’m pleased to announce a team that is going to do just that. It’s a team of world-class experts at the top of their fields, crisis tested, defined by a deep sense of duty, honor and patriotism who are already ready to jump in…
They’ll lead the COVID-19 response across the government to accelerate testing, fix our supply chain and distribute the vaccine. The work of my economic team, because controlling the pandemic, delivering better healthcare and reviving the economy go hand in hand. They’ll work with my foreign policy and national security teams because we can’t only beat the virus here at home, it must be beaten everywhere, or it comes back to haunt us again…
Whatever your politics or point of view, mask up for 100 days once we take office. 100 days to make a difference. It’s not a political statement. It’s a patriotic act. It won’t be the end of our efforts, but it’s a necessary and easy beginning, an easy start…
Let me repeat.
We need Congress to finish the bipartisan work underway now, or millions of Americans may wait months longer to get the vaccine, months longer than they otherwise would have to wait to get the vaccine, vaccination. Look, and then we’re going to need additional action next year to fund the rest of the distribution efforts. We also need the Trump administration to act now though, to purchase the doses it has negotiated with Pfizer and Moderna and to work swiftly to scale, manufacturing to U.S. populations and the world. This can be fixed. If it is fixed, my team will be able to get at least 100 million vaccinations done in my first 100 days…
We’ll look to have the most schools open that we can possibly in 100 days, if Congress provides the funding we need. It’s not a secret how to do it. Masking, vaccinations, opening schools…
We need to level with one another. It’ll take longer than we would like to distribute it to all corners of the country, depending on how it gets started off between now and the time I’m sworn in. We’ll need to persuade enough Americans to take the vaccine…
We can do this. There’s nothing we’ve ever failed to do when we decided to do it together.
Together, that’s America.”

“Bag Man:
The Wild Crimes, Audacious Cover-Up, and Spectacular Downfall of a Brazen Crook in the White House”
Rachel Maddow’s “Bag Man” tells the story of Nixon’s VP Spiro Agnew, forced to resign over corruption and
tax evasion. So relevant right now.
“He was Individual One before Individual One.”
Maddow to O’Donnell:
“One of the key people who catapulted Spiro Agnew from obscurity in Maryland to Vice President
was Pat Buchanan. Because our old friend Pat absolutely loved the way Agnew played the racist card in Maryland, and the way that he abused his Black constituents. And the way that he played up his abuse of them for the television cameras. The way he was willing to essentially to do a mid-Atlantic version of what George Wallace was threatening during the ’68 election to rob Nixon of his base in the southern strategy. They picked Agnew because they thought he was provocatively and performatively racist enough, that it could defend Nixon’s racist right flank from what was otherwise going to be George Wallace denying him the presidency. And Wallace did in ’68, of course win a bunch of Deep South states. But the Mid-South states stayed with the Republicans, stayed with Nixon, and they really believed a large part of that was because Agnew’s appeal to the hard right racist base.”
Maddow:
“And at the end of it they had 40 pages worth of indictable offenses for Agnew.
They could have done a 40-count felony indictment against him. And that’s what allowed them to force the deal that forced him to resign, and kept him from becoming president.”
I remember this TrickyDick horror show all too well, old Spiro was our governor, but no one I knew liked him or thought much of him.. we are paying the price now, ever since. Time for all this darkness to be cast out into the Light of truth and honesty.

“Lawyers across the country urge bar associations to investigate Trump’s legal team.”
“Arguing that “a license to practice law is not a license to lie,”
nearly 1,500 lawyers issued a letter on Monday calling on bar associations across the country to investigate and, if needed, penalize the members of President Trump’s legal team, including the architect of his post-election strategy, Rudolph W. Giuliani.
“It is indefensible for lawyers to falsely proclaim widespread voting fraud,
submit a pattern of frivolous court claims and actively seek to undermine citizens’ faith in our election’s integrity,” said the letter, which was signed by several former judges, former federal prosecutors and law professors. “We condemn this conduct without reservation.”
“Mr. Giuliani’s aim is obvious,” the letter said. “To fuel Mr. Trump’s campaign to delegitimize the outcome of the election.”

The republican AG’s and their backers, not the entire states. There are many Democrats in these states and it is a disservice to imply that everyone (and I am sure this includes some republicans who have common sense and Independents) are not in support of this. Sometimes I have a fear that within a generation if not before, the US will break apart into regions with separate governments. Minorities and others who are considered to be persona non grata will suffer greatly. I think about what happened to Black people when federal troops pulled out of the South; 100 years of terrorism and no civil rights respected, Black people in US have h ad less than my lifetime of recognized rights (somewhat) and opportunity ( a little). One thing that helped to lift Black people into the middle class was federal jobs and every year the benefits are whittled away. The current climate, where the worst racism is proudly on display will not end any time soon.
The BIG question is…how did we end up here? This is a request to SCOTUS to declare civil war. As Californian, where 5mn more voted Biden…I certainly want to declare damn independence.
I’ve been saying this for years.
Then I realize after each thought…I’ve lived in MN for yrs. In 2000, I moved to the 6th Dist in MN. In 2002, Sen Paul Welsone was killed in a plane crash along with his daughter, wife & several aides. It was that year that I was horrified to find out that the 6th Dist was a Far-Right Dist. In 2004, MN, a Blue state passed Conceal & Carry. I was heartbroken.
In all the 50 States, there are Red & Blue areas…secession will be nearly impossible. But I would like the Blue States like CA, the 6th largest world economy to start making demands for change based on their tax Contributions to the Fed Govt. The Red States like West Virginia would die out without Fed dollars.
The 18 state attys. general who want to overturn the will of the people and give the election to the loser: Texas Missouri Alabama Arkansas Florida Indiana Kansas Louisiana Mississippi Montana Nebraska North Dakota Oklahoma South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Utah West Virginia
Ok, let them secede. Remember fucking rick perry’s threat to secede when Obama was elected? So let them all go. We get blue states nation by default. The current insanity cannot go on under the guise of ‘union’.
No not secede.

They were not brainwashed: he was the one that they were looking for to roll back regulations, get hefty tax cuts, to force their perverted religion on the rest of us and to let their racism out loud and proud. The only ones who did not like this were the elite class (like George Will, Bill Kristol and that group); the hoi polloi that they had used even as they held them in contempt, rose up and consumed them. Trumpism is more a revolt against the elite Republican class than it is a backlash against Obama and those of us who dared to vote for him. The elites joined us in dethroning the deplorable one because he made them irrelevant.
What’s clear from this s***show is that this is the strategy the GOP has had since 2000 and is going to follow for every election they lose moving forward. The only reason, I am guessing, they didn’t attempt in 2008 and 2012 was bc McCain and Romney actually cared about democracy
Democrats need to stay in the game and to be on the offensive. Republicans are the trolls under the bridge who continue to plot even when they defeated, They are ever planning to game the system. We have had minority rule from the moment we became a nation. Every document is tainted with the evils that came from compromising with Southerners. They see such willingness to compromise as weakness and they do not respect those who do so. We need to have leaders and active citizens who stand up for what we believe unapologetically. All of this wanting to work with others so much that we wound up letting them have the advantage is such bull shit and needs to stop. We do not need to be dishonest rule breakers, crooks and liars, but we can govern with the will to do what is in the benefit of the overall country come what may. it does not matter if they like us or that we do not have that bonhomie that some legislators had decades ago. It is time to get shit done and f**k what republicans think about it. They always benefit from the things that result from democratic rule even when they talk and vote against it so it really does not matter what they say. We have seen what 72 million of them think and what their officials will do; no need for any reaching out or begging them to agree with us or to come to the table in good faith.
Biden/Harris has the largest mandate that any candidate has had in over 100 years and they achieved it over a popular incumbent. They need to govern like the winners that they are.
Rant over.
Republicans have a knack for having their cake and eating it too. Just like the stimulus checks they voted against during the Obama administration. Yet GOP governors were eager to get checks for their states…even though they didn’t use it for the purpose intended.
They are able to say they were against something — have the vote to prove it — while reaping the benefits; often more of the benefits than the people that NEEDED the benefits more and for whom the benefits were intended.
This is notable — and a key marker for those who say Trump’s actions help China: The Chinese embassy in the US has retweeted Trump’s fake claim of election fraud. After having spent four years refusing to answer or acknowledge the dumpster fire that is the current president’s Twitter feed, Republicans in Congress now have the audacity to try to use the tweets of Biden nominees against them.
Apparently, Cornyn believes “insulting” a member of Congress makes you unfit to serve in the executive branch. And yet, there was Trump calling Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., a liar and a cheat in January and labeling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., “dumb as a rock.” In October he called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., “crazy.” (And don’t get me started on the names he used for his Republican challengers during the 2016 election.)
Such hypocrisy is an embarrassment but not at all surprising. It is a prelude of what we can expect going forward from Republicans in Congress. They will do everything they can to pretend the last four years didn’t happen. That it was some kind of liberal mirage that they had no hand in enabling or fueling.
1) The lawsuit, which Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed Monday, calls on the court to delay the electoral vote in the four targeted states, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, to allow investigations of voting issues to continue. That would be unconstitutional. Article II, Section 4, says that Congress can choose the day the electors meet to vote but that it also says the day “shall be the same throughout the United States.” This year, it’s Dec. 14, five days from now.
2) Texas has no legal right to claim that officials elsewhere didn’t follow the rules set by their own legislatures. The United States doesn’t have a national election for president. It has a series of state elections, and one state has no legal standing to challenge how another state conducts its elections.
3) While it’s true that the Supreme Court is the place to go when one state wants to sue another, it has to get permission from the court first, and it has to show there’s no other place to resolve the issues. The Texas lawsuit is a compilation of legal claims that have already been chewed over in lower courts.
4) The lawsuit asks the Supreme Court for an order invalidating something like 20 million votes…which is unthinkable
5) The court filings also appear to have been prepared in haste. For example, the lawsuit says the four states that Texas wants to sue have a total of 72 electoral votes. The total is actually 62.
Cobb County, Georgia will add two more locations for the final week of early voting in the Senate runoff races after voting and civil rights advocates criticized changes they said would harm Black and Latino voters' access to the polls. https://t.co/MPyqnItLqx

Just a quick hello, and a big hug to everyone.. stay safe, be well, Keep Us All The Heart!

After Senators Ossoff and Warnock are elected and sworn in.
I hope Ms.Abrams finds an island for her to vacation at. Okay maybe she can take a hundred of her closest friends and volunteers etc etc etc … and enjoy a well deserved vacation.
Nothing but blue skies, warm turquoise waters, white Sandy beaches, and gently blowing breeze for a whole month!
Damn, I keep buying the darn lotto tickets … one of these days, I am keeping the faith 🤣
Trump’s campaign to delegitimize the outcome of the election.”
unintended addition of transition article!
Um meanwhile.
“Rudy Giuliani says ‘you can overdo the mask’ while in hospital for COVID-19
after ignoring mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines”.

I wonder if Biden is tired of winning yet. 😁
I dunno about him, but I am DEFINITELY not tired of him winning! 😃

We gotsta have them Senate-side.
—If ya voted just now, vote again, and take your Young Wans.
Wut?
We as Democrats love to eat our own.
Smh
Got it.
1) The Jihad Party is prepared to die for trump.
2) Individual One and his henchmen are still SNOWING us with frivolous stuff.
–Their just-snow strategy has worked to derail media and keep trump relevant.
–Let’s end that now.
–Let’s quit, you know, chit chatting about 2024. And oh…doom and his crime syndicate running for office.
–Let’s figure out how to put him away. Done.

Good Afternoon, Beloved TODville Community
This tweet made me smile.
4-3! That is still frightening that it was this close.
This gon’ be goooood!
Straight with no chaser; love this.
OH!! That was sooooooo good!!
Time for blue states to secede. Let the racists have their own ‘country’.
And maybe even Kentucky … ?
Brilliant…plus…
How’s Rev. Raphael Warnock doing for Ad Fabness?
= Rev. Warnock MUST HAVE ad fab-ness.
Ok, let them secede. Remember fucking rick perry’s threat to secede when Obama was elected? So let them all go. We get blue states nation by default. The current insanity cannot go on under the guise of ‘union’.
No not secede.
Let’s stop entertaining whoever they are’s fantasies…
Compromised and mentally defective Trump would dotz planet Earth to avoid paying for his crimes.
Joe resoundingly WON the presidency as umpteen candidates did before him – including Doom.
—Cry us a river jihads!
–Next!
Traitorous thug’s corrupt regime was a fantasy until it happened. Doing the same thing over & over, over decades has come to this disastrous pass.
I misseded you, Daddy! 😍😍😍😍😍
Crying!!! A son needs his father. Yes we miss so much…!!!
Marc is the lifeline that is keeping so many of us sane.
Yes he is!
LOL! 😆
This is the photo that I kept on the wall of my high school Language Arts classes. If a gifted writer like the president who is also a JD, had to edit his work and do re-writes then they can do so as well.
Awesome! So inspirational!
Tomorrow Twitler is gonna apoplectic … again.
Any thoughts? I think it should go to our front line healthcare workers myself.
That would be find. But I think most of them would rather have more PPE, Ventilators, some time off and people to wear masks.
fine
Do it multiple times.
Duh, wouldn’t you?
And one of those detector thingy to sniff out any bugs planted in the WH. I don’t trust the current idiots.
You can be sure P-E Biden’s people will be on it.
Can they do this this close to run-off elections?
Relentless corrupt thugs.
They shouldn’t be able to change the rules…especially between a general election and the runoff associated with it. Plus, a number of people have already received their absentee ballots and have already returned them.
They’ve done it. Added back 2 sites after pushback.
yup.
BECAUSE:
THE 70 MILLION PEOPLE WERE RIPE.
They had been ripened.
I put it down to 100% open racism and white entitlement resentment. Which both the totus thug and the traitorous gop peddled 24×7.
AMENNNNNNNNNN to the 1 millionth Power💥💥
They are able to say they were against something — have the vote to prove it — while reaping the benefits; often more of the benefits than the people that NEEDED the benefits more and for whom the benefits were intended.
lol.
A seditious, treasonous traitor.

The guy is a treasure. Are the dems listening?

Why aren’t the blue states not doing this? ‘Staying above the fray’ is a bs losing move.
Yessss.
At last!
That’s what I am talking about. Fight back. Go on the offensive. Do it all.
Goodnight TOD.

Does tRump think adding himself to the petition will trigger Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett to do what he put them there to do?
Poll Watchers or Poll Obstructionists??????
Just thugs. with guns too, probably.
“Don’t let Republicans rewrite history. We can’t allow them to impose a standard of decency, morality or scrutiny that they refused to hold Trump or his Cabinet to literally for years.”
41 DAYS Y’ALL!!!
I don’t give a shit, stupid adult.
Continuing to do good…
