This is what I am thinking. That Texas group demanding Biden swing state votes be overturned by SC is just too crazy for it to be all about the loss, especially since they won so many down ballot offices. There is a desperation to their acts and to the non-action of Senate Republicans that is beyond keeping the grifter in office. They have dirty and bloody hands, dark secrets and crimes that they must want to stay hidden

True. These are slimy people. They need to be exposed and prosecuted.

      • December 8, 2020 at 8:06 pm

No question about it. Been obvious for a very, very long time – actually since Nixon – that they have amassed a criminal record of enormous proportions.

The Biden Administration needs to set a precedence for enforcing the Rule of Law NEVER seen in America before.

As I’ve noted on many occasions, #NoJusticeNoDemocracy; #NoJusticeNoAmerica.

For years the privileged refused to stand up for the marginalized. They looked away or made excuses or denied our pain. Now the horror of our years is being visited upon them and they are shocked and amazed. They chose to believe that systems that were so unjust to so many would be just to them when they finally questioned or did something that the powers did not like. So tired of white people crying all over social media for the past 4 years with statements like “This is not America” and “but we are a land where the rule of law prevails.” This country from day 1 was a place or the favored few. It is a country built on genocide, human trafficking, and exploitation of the poor and the powerless. We are living in the times that so many have warned about but too many ignored.

      • December 8, 2020 at 8:11 pm

Well, as you know, this white dude has been stating these facts ever since I arrived at TOD –> ” This country from day 1 was a place or the favored few. It is a country built on genocide, human trafficking, and exploitation of the poor and the powerless. We are living in the times that so many have warned about but too many ignored.”

As noted in my comment, above, the Biden Administration must BEGIN ENFORCING THE LAW no matter the ‘optics’ or other political bull shit.

I have more confidence in Joe Biden & Kamala Harris doing that than at the beginning of any previous Administration in my life time.

Bet Desantis’ head is swimming that all of this got out into the public and on the national scene so quickly. So thankful that she had cameras in her home and that she put it out on social media where it went viral within hours and the national media picked it up. I live in fucked up Florida where they put someone on the ballot who does not exist to pull votes away from a candidate that had a similar name an where another republican was telling people how to go to Georgia and vote in the run-off election for the repub. candidates. This is the state where ALEC wrote the laws and the state legislators were owned by Jeffrey Epstein. The only bright spot is my area in Duval County where even though we have a republican mayor (not a total douchebag), we came strong for Biden/Harris (18,000 plus more votes than the deplorable ticket) and our election officials and staff are fair and helpful.

The next thing out of trump’s mouth was now he wanted to see President Obama’s grades? Can someone not get his (trump’s) grades released? He brags about his high IQ but we know … he never got into any of his schools based on merit.

According to a report from the Guardian, residents in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin are furious that they were forced from their homes to make way for a planned Foxconn factory that was touted by Donald Trump and former GOP Gov. Scott Walker — but never materialized.

In 2017, the then-Republican governor and the president announced with great fanfare that Foxconn would be building a $10 billion factory in the town that would one day employ over 13,000 workers making LCD displays.

However those plans “imploded” reports the Guardian resulting in a facility 20 times smaller that is essentially a warehouse.

While the president promised the plant would be the “eighth wonder of the world,” the report points out that the majority of site of the proposed plant is instead a barren stretch of land where houses used to exist.

“We gave up on our ideas.
We gave up on our values.
All we had left was just to game the system against the voter.”
    2010:
“REDMAP targeted 107 local state legislative races in 16 states—including, as you might imagine, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Florida. This coordinated campaign offensive flooded these lower-profile races with negative ads, and duly defeated Democratic incumbents amid a surging wave of anti-Affordable Care Act and Tea Party protests. GOP majorities in these critical states were thus empowered to redraw congressional district maps to pack as many Black and Democratic voters into as few districts as possible, creating a wholesale political resegregation along both sides of the Mason-Dixon line.
“They cracked, stacked, packed, and bleached Black voters,” said the Reverend Dr. William J. Barber II,
co-chair of the national Poor People’s Campaign. We think of the 2010 election as the Tea Party’s ascendancy,
but its far more momentous impact was to unleash the partisan and racial gerrymanders that played a vital role in creating the Trump electorate.

“The Case for Not Panicking About Trump’s Pardons”
“Liberals are in full freakout mode about how a disruptive president could use his most unchecked powers. That’s a mistake.”
“Of course, Trump abusing his power in unprecedented and corrupt ways is a big deal, but his critics should put this worry on the back burner. Of all Donald Trump’s voluminous attacks on the rule of law as president, a last-minute pardon spree would be one of the least effectual—and perhaps even a gift to President-elect Joe Biden.”

“Trump Is Committing A Crime By Pressuring Officials To Falsify Election Results”
    Maddow:
“Per The Post’s new reporting, it has been twice in the past week where the president has called the Republican speaker of the statehouse in Pennsylvania and told that speaker that he needs to figure out a way to throw out the Biden win in Pennsylvania and give the state to Trump instead.

I realize it sounds quaint to point this out,
but pressuring officials to falsify election results is a crime.

I mean that’s election interference, right?

If anybody else you knew was pressuring elections officials personally, leaning on them, weighing on them to try to get them to falsify the election results and say the other guy won, they’d be indicted.”

Question: gerrymandering effed us and we lost a lot of seats in Congress. How is Fudge’s seat filled with a GOP governor? Was there no one else just as competent to lead HUD? We don’t need these complications. Plenty of talented, competent people for these posts.

You cannot negotiate with people who have no soul…no HEART…who are using anti democratic tactics to maintain their POWER
the only thing that they understand or respect is POWER…

so what do we do….do we play hardball….should we wait til January…to see who has control of the Senate…

i say we wait…i know that folks will be hurt…but the GOP is willing to sacrifice them on the altar of greed and power…..as they always have…

      .

      • December 9, 2020 at 10:31 am

But while we are waiting, we also have to plan for any scenario.

Republicans bend the rules without necessarily breaking them. They find the loopholes and take advantage of them. Democrats like to stay within the norms. But times are not normal. For Republicans, POWER supersedes PATRIOTISM. For them, democracy is obsolete.

Therefore, when Democrats are strategizing, they have to take into consideration that mindset. One side can’t follow the rules when the other side sees rules as a suggestion.

        • December 9, 2020 at 11:49 am

I agree…but what happens if noone plays by the rules…what happens to the Republic…

          • December 9, 2020 at 12:49 pm

I don’t know if it comes down to Democrats doing what they need to do to gain control [Desperate Times/Desperate Measures] and then put legislation/policies in place to get rid of the loopholes or make it difficult to exploit them. Bottom line, SOMETHING has to be done to stop the bleeding.

I agree. Having the rules and everyone respecting and adhering to the rules makes for a peaceful environment. I am tired of all the anxiety and anger I’ve felt since 2016…and it’s even worse now with all the crazy stuff the Republicans are doing to try to overturn the election.
