“Well, it’s been hard Chris. I mean, I don’t have a whole lot of time to stop and process it or feel sorry for myself. I’ve got a job to do and I’m going to keep doing my job. But starting in April, when the president singled me out, and called me “that woman from Michigan” and tweeted “Liberate Michigan!”. Every time he focuses on my state or on me we see the violent rhetoric increase. We see the threats online increase. I have had to have a lot of serious hard conversations with my children when there are people with AR15s out on our front lawn.
And these are people who are looking for any leader to give them some credibility and some some comfort, and some encouragement. And when Donald Trump won’t denounce them in the middle of a presidential debate, that’s the kind of encouragement they see. When Donald Trump says things like “Lock them all up!”-
that’s the kind of encouragement and it’s dangerous. It’s Anti-American.
We settle our differences at the ballot box. And if we don’t like the result, we get organized and get ready for the next Election. We have peaceful transition of power. We put our democracy before our party.

“Fewer inspectors, more deaths: The Trump administration rolls back workplace safety inspections”
In 2019, OSHA’s safety inspectors conducted 962 investigations into fatal or catastrophic workplace incidents — the highest number since the agency began publishing the data in 2011.
As these incidents mount, however, the Trump administration has scaled back OSHA inspections, which research has shown to lower injury rates….The slowdown in inspections could prove dangerous for millions of workers: A Public Integrity analysis shows the vast majority of deaths and catastrophes have occurred at workplaces that weren’t inspected by OSHA.
“Worker Dangers Up As Trump OSHA Cuts Come Home To Roost, Say AFL-CIO Exec, Ex-DOL Official”
Increased dangers to workers are coming home to roost from the Trump Administration’s weakening of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), say a key AFL-CIO executive and a former Department of Labor official.
He notes the Obama Administration started to develop OSHA comprehensive infectious disease standards in 2009.
“We were making progress,” says the former official.
But when Donald Trump became president, OSHA leadership took the initiative off the active regulatory rule making agenda and put it on the long-term backburner.
“Most of OSHA’s energy now is going into rolling back existing regulations and working on ones not as important as infectious diseases,” he contends.
Under Trump, OSHA has the lowest level of inspections in its 50-year history while the economy has grown, the two point out.

Senator Cory Booker, Judiciary Committee,
speaks to Hayes:
“First of all there is an alignment in this one. If you cannot see the clear line between grace, decency and generosity and survival then you’re wrong. Wearing masks that act of generosity towards others. Taking precautions that act of grace towards others, means whether people live or die. And this is a president that has so deeply violated human conceptions of decency and grace and honor, that he is endangering lives just by his very behavior. I was in the Capitol…on the eve of the awful vote that could effect the healthcare of millions, Amy Coney Barrett. And I’m sitting in that room with Kamala away from her, and I was telling her I was astonished that when she has someone who had Covid near her she stopped her schedule. She got off the campaign trail! And with vice president Pence it is just the opposite. It’s almost as if he was flaunting the facts. That is not a sign I would want from a leader, which is honor. That was a dishonorable thing to do to put people at risk and to model behavior that others will follow. That could literally put American lives at risk.”
Hayes: “Watching the numbers spike up…exhausted about it…this is happening again..I think everyone should understand that…and you were Mayor of a city where there are a lot of governing challenges. You’ve now worked in the Senate. Governing is hard, and doing things like getting a vaccine to 300 million people is hard…who is going to actually get this going and working?”
Senator Booker:
“..I’m still stuck in this point that I am sitting in New Jersey. We are in a pandemic.
There is still a desperate need for everything from everything from PPE to ventilators.
There are about 100,000 businesses that are about to close in this country and never open again. There is 40% of American families with children do not know where their next meal is going to come from. They are food insecure…as these numbers mount. Hospitalizations mount. Deaths mount. As we get into what could be the most difficult period of the pandemic.”
Sen. Booker:
“1918. The first wave was not the deadliest wave. It was the second wave.
And so the question should be obvious. Who is acting more like they are dealing with the crisis? Right now. Not what is going to happen one or two months from now. Who do you trust more to deal with it now? The guy that’s denying, that’s saying we’ve “rounded the corner”? Saying that it’s “disappearing”? Or the guy that has shown through his behavior that he understands and respects the gravity of the challenge, and is ready to step up.”
Hayes: “In the wake of that Amy Coney Barrett vote…Bryan Schott said ‘Look you killed the old Senate, whatever it was it’s dead now.’…What is going through everyone’s minds and hearts (in the Senate) about what we’ve seen happen, and what is ahead of us in this next week?”
Senator Booker:
“I joined this institution almost seven years ago to the day, in a Special Election.
And I’ve watched the erosion of norms accelerating from Mitch McConnell and the Merrick Garland incident, to just tumbling downward from there. And the Senate is broken. It’s deeply wounded and injured. It’s not dead, but it is deeply wounded and injured. And I think that folks understand that this is not something that you can have in an earnest sort of naive way, this idea that oh, if we just win back control of the Senate things will get better. No. It is going to take steps. Now I don’t know what they are going to be. We’re going to debate them hotly. But I think that the atmosphere in the Senate, to taking steps to try to right wrongs, balance the scales, and do justice… I think you’re going to see a lot of people stepping up to try to figure out what we could do after a very dark period, in which not just in the Senate, but our Constitutional norms and traditions have been trashed. And what is worse than the person who actually trashed them, Donald Trump, is the people that stood by and said nothing.”

Get hypothermia from freezing conditions or pass out from the heat…tRump’s super spreader events are dangerous in so many ways.
Multiple attendees of President Trump’s rally in Tampa passed out due to the intense heat, as a truck blasted water at the crowd, NBC News reports.
The event comes two days after seven people who attended Trump’s rally in Omaha were hospitalized due to exposure to near-freezing temperatures.
