NOW: Jill Biden campaigns in Dallas, Texas – https://abcnews.go.com/live/video/special-live-4
Wow! Kamala is telling it as it is. Scary! ACB is scary. Kamala would be a great SC Justice herself after being VP then Prez.
After seeing video of Donald Trump dancing, I wonder what’s going through his mind. Is he thinking Dancing with the Stars, or is he worried about Dancing Behind Bars? from Dan Rather
Mu eyes are leaking.
* My eyes* Sorry.
Oh Dudette, on these day I so feel my white privilege. My heart aches. But I voted straight Democratic. I do have hope.
Thanks for that! I have hope too! ❤️
Me too.
👍🏾💕
AEI – Wow!

PP’s new theme song.
Good evening TODville. Did anyone watch the exchange between Speaker Pelosi and Wolf Blitzer on CNN today. Will try to find the video. Unfortunately I only watched a small clip, but heard that she called him out on his talking points.
I didn’t,but I hope she did!!!!

“Trump Admin Admits Embrace Of Disputed Herd Immunity Strategy: WaPo ”
“Rachel Maddow shares reporting by the Washington Post that a Trump administration official has admitted that the Trump policy for dealing with coronavirus is tantamount to herd immunity, even as experts deride it as “fringe” and “dangerous,” and the U.S. appears to be in the grips of a second wave of infections.”
First the Apprentice, now:
Do Nothing But Super-Spread Spectator Sports…maybe you’ll die, maybe not.
Trump Administration plan = Infect as many people as possible.
“Never in the history of public health been used as s strategy…letting COVID-19 circulate unchecked therefore means allowing unnecessary infections, suffering and death.”
(W.H.O Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus)
—c/o trump wh anti-science snuff rallies.
September 16th, Maddow:
Explained the math on herd immunity.
“Math on Trump Covid strategy has millions dying before it works”
“Rachel Maddow does the math on the herd immunity Covid-19 strategy that Donald Trump has chosen, with the backing of Fox News doctor Scott Atlas, as the way the U.S. will deal with the coronavirus and finds that even with rosy circumstances and granting some leaps Trump makes without the support of science, millions of people would die in the U.S. for it to work.”
—btw under the Herd Plan the least American death toll is 2.1 million.
Under the “Herd” plan:
65% of population has to be infected = 215 million Americans.
Our fatality rate = close to 3% of positive infections.
= 6.4 million deaths.
trump-pence choosing mass murder over wearing a mask
Genius, I tell ya. Genius! Look at this! My God!
That’s Devine! Thanks Dudette! 💞
Oh I love to see those fingers fly!
🥰 Happy Birthday to our very wonderful Roberta. May you maintain your kind and funny outlook on life. Thank you for being a TOD family member. We love you 😘 ❤️🌷🌷🌷
Aaaaw, what lusciousness! All of these. This last quote by Sherriflyn Ifill is 1000% right. I am not a good writer to express myself on just how powerful that quote is and how much it breaks my heart of all our Black brothers and sisters, past and present and sadly, future. Just know I do not overlook the devotion and heart it takes. Love, love, love to all.
Different note: This morning on Joe Madison, he played the entire (long) segment with NP and Wolf. Man, Wolf was testy and at times, nasty. Nancy did a good job, however (and a sizable however), here was the BIG mistake she made: She never specifically explained what is in her/the House bill and what is in the WH/Munchin/MM bill. In other words, she gave no easy to understand specific details. After he played the entire thing, he opened his lines to caller who have NOT voted yet because of the pure politics of it–getting a $1200 check signed by DJT trying to buy votes. The first caller, Anita, explained quickly point by point what is in the House bill FOR THE PEOPLE and what is in the WH bill for the $$$$$ people and corporations. She did not say what she does, but am guessing she works on the Hill for a person in Congress. Too late, but NP made a mistake in that interview. 😦
Had she done what the first caller did, she wold shut Wolf down instantly.
What a fab list/essays! Greatness all the way thru! 💞
I couldn’t agree more!
Spectacular series of posts, Dudette!!!! Thank you!!!!
Hiya Bob! You’re very welcome! 👍🏾
Agreed! Fab Dudette.
um imo,
Barrett spilled the beans.
GOP probably thinks they’re pretty slick sliding Barrett into our Supreme Court.
Despite refusing to answer yes or no to basic questions on decades old law (e.g. intimidation at the polls),
Barrett unintentionally showed
her and GOP’s true colors by referring to LGBTQ issues as “sexual preference”.
By not using the term “sexual orientation”,
Barrett let slip her ignorance,
prejudice,
or both.
“Sexual preference” suggests a choice for which you can be punished or “trained out” of.
The Christian Right would like LGBTQ folks to disappear. They cannot jail them or kill them off as in other countries. Instead they give money to aggressive regimes to do it for them. Here at home maybe start with discrimination, undo the marriage law and make it illegal, bring back DOMA.
—Barrett here reminding us that the trump architects are stacking the courts with the Christian Right.
BARRETT: Referred to LGBTQ as “people with a sexual preference”.
“I certainly didn’t mean and would never mean to use a term that would cause any offense to the LGBTQ community”… Barrett largely evaded questions Tuesday on how she would rule on specific issues,
as is the general practice in Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
But her claim to have never discriminated against the LGBTQ community rang hollow after a New York Timed profile revealed she had served on the board of an Indiana private school that barred admission to students of unmarried parents when same-sex marriage was not yet legalized in the state.

NEW: Barron Trump tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
He has since tested negative, first lady Melania Trump announced in a personal essay posted on the White House website.
Great news!

Okay legal TODers out there, what am I missing?
Agreed. If putting up unauthorized boxes is a crime, treat anyone putting them up as criminals.
She should have been a bit more than a slovenly man servant ….
Now, she’s documented as that, and just simply clueless.
Whoa. Gorgeous.
Nancy Pelosi on Lawrence O’Donnell now. He explained that ppl who are not crafting (my word), have no business giving advice to the Speaker of the House (i am paraphrasing).
I am glad she is on his show.
I finally saw the clip of McConnell laughing during the debate. What a piece of work MM is. An evil man for depriving ppl of much needed help.
Someone should ask him ( maybe even the SC nominee) to explain the meaning of Pro-life.
Fun & informative interview. But had to fall out laughing at this exchange! 😂😂
Kamala on Rachel tonight. At end of segment (paraphrasing):
Rachel: In debate did you see fly on Pence’s head?
Kamala (nodding, then w/ her smile, then her laugh at question): I think, Rachel, we’ll just let that one fly away! 😂😂
Wow! Barbie is pretty amazing!

Trump ends the Census early:
Pelosi Statement on Supreme Court Ruling Ending Census Early
“Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after the Supreme Court approved the Trump Administration’s emergency request to end the 2020 Census early, which threatens to deny vulnerable communities federal funding and lead to an inaccurate apportionment that will violate the constitutional right to political representation:
“The Supreme Court’s decision to enable the President’s shameful campaign to curtail the Census is regrettable and disappointing. The President’s attack on the Census count and his refusal to provide time beyond December 31 for submission of the Census report clearly violate the Constitutional mandate enshrined by our Founders for a fair and accurate Census. Further, the President’s actions threaten to politically and financially exclude many in America’s most vulnerable communities from our democracy.’
“The Trump effort to end the Census early has been resoundingly rejected by experts, including in the Government Accountability Office, Commerce Department Inspector General and Census Scientific Advisory Committee, who all warn that the accelerated schedule will result in an inaccurate Census that will deny vulnerable communities the representation and funds they are entitled to. Specifically, the Census Bureau officials have stated that curtailing the Census is ‘ludicrous’ and will result in ‘fatal data flaws that are unacceptable for a constitutionally mandated national activity.’
“The House of Representatives will continue to fight in the Courts and in the Congress to ensure that every person has a say in our American Democracy, and to ensure a fair and accurate Census as the Constitution and our American ideals demand.”

Speaker Pelosi:
“On Pandemic Relief Negotiations With GOP”
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) says Mitch McConnell’s lack of interest in coming to realistic terms on a coronavirus relief bill is “heartbreaking.” While the House wants funding to aid communities hit hardest by the pandemic, she tells Lawrence O’Donnell Republicans are more interested in tax cuts.”

SPEAKER PELOSI:
Dear Colleague on Insufficiencies of the Administration’s COVID-19 Relief Proposal
October 13 2020:
State and Local Government:
Appropriations Chair Nita Lowey: the Trump Administration’s latest offer “shortchanges state and local governments that provide most services Americans depend on. The coronavirus pandemic is the greatest peacetime challenge our nation has ever faced. We must meet the moment, and that will require Republicans to work in good faith on a meaningful relief package.”
Testing:
Energy and Commerce Chair Frank Pallone: “The Administration continues to refuse to put a national testing, tracing and surveillance plan in place. [The Trump plan] would also needlessly delay funding to states by requiring states to jump through legislative hoops that are simply unnecessary. It does nothing to address the barriers and needs of communities of color that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.”
Working Families:
Ways and Means Chair Richie Neal: “This approach is a transparent attempt to score political points in the coming weeks, not a plan to ensure those who are struggling can make ends meet. Democrats expanded the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. Meanwhile, the Trump proposal fails to include either of those expansions, depriving millions of Americans of thousands of dollars in tax benefits” while continuing tax benefits for some of the wealthiest in America.
Rental Assistance:
Financial Services Chair Maxine Waters: “Right now, an estimated 14 million families are at risk of eviction and homelessness, which is why Democrats have persistently pushed to provide robust emergency rental assistance, in addition to other life-saving provisions to prevent evictions and foreclosures. The Trump Administration’s misguided action to temporarily delay evictions is no substitute for the Heroes Act’s strong tenant protections and rental relief.”
Workers’ Protections and Child Care:
Education and Labor Chair Bobby Scott: “Seven months into the one of worst public health crisis this country has ever experienced, infection rates are rising again, and OSHA still refuses to issue any enforceable workplace safety standards. Their measly offer to increase funding for education stabilization is not enough to help schools reopen safely. Additionally, our child care system is on the brink of collapse and their proposal would not even cover half of what is needed.”
Small Businesses:
Small Business Chair Nydia Velázquez: “Unfortunately, the Trump Administration’s proposal fails to meet the needs of our country’s smallest businesses and employees. These businesses – our local restaurants, hotels, retailers, entertainment venues, movie theaters, and family-owned and operated bodegas – were particularly harmed by the Trump Administration’s ‘first-come-first-serve’ approach to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). But the Administration is now requesting that Congress consider small business relief alone and in a far more inadequate form.”
Elections:
House Administration Chair Zoe Lofgren: “While the President peddles bogus conspiracy theories about voting by mail, his proposal provides no funding for state and local governments to conduct either safe in person or safe mail voting. The COVID pandemic, which the President downplays publicly, has put financial strain on our states and our Post Office when it comes to this election. Their proposal is a disgrace.”
Census:
Oversight and Reform Chair Carolyn Maloney: “The Administration’s latest coronavirus proposal – coming after months of dithering since the House passed the Heroes Act to provide essential relief and protections to working families – is inexplicably short-sighted and wildly deficient. The Administration’s actions are directly jeopardizing the Constitution’s core requirements for a complete and accurate Census.”

Was thinking last night about where the heck we’d be without Speaker Nancy Pelosi right now?
–A zillion billion thanks to her. Minimum.
