“San Francisco Mayor London Breed to Joy Reid: Trump Is Denying Climate Change When ‘It’s Right At Our Heels’. On President Trump dismissing the threat of climate change during his visit to California, San Francisco Mayor London Breed mentioned how she woke up last week to red, orange skies like ‘it was the end of the world.’”

The City of Portland has the worst air quality on Earth
    5 million acres has burned
    35 people are dead
    so many people are missing
families are in fear and pain,
while fake C-I-C Trump auditions for Count Orlock.
“It will start getting cooler heh…heh…”

The news has skewed the air quality news by implying Portland has the worst air quality in the nation. Large major city would be more accurate. It is actually the fifth worst in Oregon. There are other small towns and cities here that are much worst. I just looked it up this morning. It was much worst were I live in Oregon last Wednesday and Thursday. Today it is finally rated Good where I am. I can even see the grey sky today.

    More from the Woodward audios.
    Trump says:
    1) “This thing is a killer if it gets you. If you’re the wrong person, you don’t have a chance…. This rips you apart.
    It is the plague.”
    2) “Bob, it’s so easily transmissible, you wouldn’t believe it … I mean you could, you could be in the room … I was in the White House a couple of days ago, meeting with 10 people in the Oval Office and a guy sneezed — innocently. Not a horrible … you know, just a sneeze. The entire room bailed out, OK? Including me, by the way.”
(The latter on Colbert interview with Woodward:

Voting early is key, either in person or by absentee. I wish all states would do it the Oregon way: automatic voter registration, voters pamphlet mailed to your home of record 3 weeks before the election, ballot mailed to your home two weeks before the election with prepaid postage. Fill it out ASAP and take it to a dropbox at one of the libraries or mail it as early as possible. SO EASY! Did you watch Michelle’s VOMO event on tv last night? Hope the kids got the message that their vote matters!

    Michael Caputo:
Trump’s top communication official at DHHS:
“…accused the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of harboring a “resistance unit” determined to undermine President Trump, even if that opposition bolsters the COVID-19 death toll.
    “Warns of Armed Revolt”.
Made: “outlandish and false accusations on Sunday that career government scientists were engaging in “sedition” in their handling of the pandemic and that left-wing hit squads were preparing for armed insurrection after the election.
–Don’t look now…sleeveen in charge of CDC pandemic communications off his frickin’ rocker.

    • September 15, 2020 at 1:11 pm

“Trump officials interfered with CDC reports on Covid-19”
“The CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports are authored by career scientists and serve as the main vehicle for the agency to inform doctors, researchers and the general public about how Covid-19 is spreading and who is at risk. Such reports have historically been published with little fanfare and no political interference, said several longtime health department officials, and have been viewed as a cornerstone of the nation’s public health work for decades.”

    • September 15, 2020 at 1:12 pm

“But since Michael Caputo, a former Trump campaign official with no medical or scientific background,
was installed in April as the Health and Human Services department’s new spokesperson,
there have been substantial efforts to align the reports with Trump’s statements, including the president’s claims that fears about the outbreak are overstated, or stop the reports altogether.
Caputo and his team have attempted to add caveats to the CDC’s findings, including an effort to retroactively change agency reports.”

  14. September 15, 2020 at 1:53 pm

“Political hacks, cranks like Michael Caputo, they are working in positions of authority to undermine the science we need to fight a once in a century pandemic in an attempt to cover up the illness and death Trump is responsible for, and boost the president politically. The politics of denialism are running roughshod over science.”
    (Chris Hayes)

    • September 15, 2020 at 2:01 pm

Michael Caputo today manipulating what the CDC says about the pandemic:
“In what is arguably the single most important public health publication in the world.
It’s called the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports, and it had until Donald Trump been apolitical…a publication that informs scientists and public health experts about the latest data and trends in infectious diseases. Everyone reads it in the world of public health. Everyone.” (Hayes)

    by Sharon LaFraniere

      Maddow:
“Michael Caputo has been stopping the CDC from publishing scientific information on COVID,
including in the CDC’s flagship weekly public health reports. And he simultaneously says while he is doing that, that he is being hunted by left wing hit squads and everybody should buy ammunition because after the election…This is a real thing. This is who they’ve got as the gate keeper on COVID information for the public. And for the world. Really?”

    • September 15, 2020 at 3:16 pm

      Sharon LaFraniere,
NYT investigative reporter, speaks to Maddow.
Maddow: “You reported this straight up with direct quotes and no commentary….Is there a connection between Mr. Caputo’s crazypants ranting and the conspiracy theories that you reported on, and the way he has been comporting himself at HHS?”
      LaFraniere:
“Well this showed a side of Mr. Caputo that I think reporters who deal with him have not really seen up close. So it was rather surprising in that way. He doesn’t usually talk like this. But I would say that the views that he expressed are really not that different than the views of some other people in the president’s inner circle. There are echoes in what the president himself says. The president has himself disparaged scientists and said that he thinks the Deep State is out to get him. And that they are thwarting his efforts to control the pandemic and cast doubt on whether the election is going to be fair. And he has vaguely suggested that there are armed squads that are preparing for action. So there is some overlap in their views.”

    • September 15, 2020 at 3:25 pm

      (First section would not post…)
Maddow: “With your history of reporting on CDC and HHS does it surprise you that CDC didn’t have more institutional gravitas to be able to brush back on these political influences that they’re doing?”
      LaFraniere:
“I think what we’re seeing overall is a very broad pressure campaign on the health agencies that are dealing with the pandemic, and it’s not just the CDC. But the CDC has proved to be more pliable than some of the other agencies. I think that a number of scientists within the CDC would say they feel like Dr. Redfield who is leading the agency, has failed to protect them from political interference. And the result is what we see going on with these reports. The FDA seems like it’s more on the verge. Its rollout of convalescent plasma was rushed and it was….but the scientists in the agency agreed that was the right thing to approve that treatment. On the other hand, the FDA approved hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19 and then it had to reverse itself. The NIH seems like it’s fighting back quite hard. But it’s also not as much in the front lines as the other two agencies.”

“shadows on the ceiling in my apartment, there alone, shadows are so long.” (Michael Caputo)

I believe JO’B asked for stories of my Mum a couple months ago. It’s hard to go through the process. But I did draft this poem. Which is a smidgen, but a start in dealing w/ grief. Much love. xoxo

    Becoming Orphan

    With each weeping loss
    I mourn
    My journey towards Orphan.
    Now understanding my early
    Connectivity towards
    Orphaned Babies,
    Who grabbed my heart.
    Now I’m them.
    I am that Orphan.

    Father gone. Mother gone.
The stalwart engines of my life’s path,
    My core center,
    Gone.

And as I walk a path of broken glass,
Trying to glue pieces back together,
    Even in their imperfectness,
    I search for Us.
For love of those who are
    Here and now,
    Who aren’t yet
    Our Ancestors,
    Trying to mend that Orphan
    Hole in my heart.
    Holding off the pain of
    Becoming Orphan.
