I have two of them. Both my father and sister witnessed dear friends die in combat. Thankfully they both made it home to us. My whole family is seething with anger today. https://t.co/PiRWV40Gdb
My father was an immigrant who served his country. A POW who was forced to endure the Bataan Death March, he was awarded a Purple Heart. Trump makes me sick.

Trump was never going to serve in the military because there was no way to locate marks for him to scam, no targets from whom to steal & grift. Now he voices they're all suckers & losers. That's always been his mindset, which should be clear from his bottomless greed & con game.
“Biden Turns Attention Back to Coronavirus and Reopening of School.”
“The Bidens will speak Wednesday morning with Sylvia Mathews Burwell, a secretary of Health and Human Services under President Barack Obama and now the president of American University in Washington; Joshua Sharfstein, the vice dean for public health practice at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and director of the Bloomberg American Health Initiative; Linda Darling-Hammond, the president of the California State Board of Education; and INGRID KATZ an infectious-disease physician who oversees the Harvard Global Health Institute’s covid-19 work with a primary focus on schools.”

Ingrid Katz, Harvard Global Health Institute, trained in infectious diseases,
working with the Biden campaign to get our children back in school, speaks with Hayes.
Hayes: “Are people overly scarred such that we should be having more kids in school than we do?”
Dr. Katz:
“This comes down to basic bread and butter pandemic responses.
We needed and we still need adequate testing across this country. And we need to be able to test as part of a reopening of schools program. And that’s not just diagnostic testing, and diagnostic testing meaning just testing people when they’re symptomatic. We need to be able to test people in a much broader way. Because we know that 40% of the transmissions occur among people who are asymptomatic. And that’s particularly true among children. So we are going to protect these children and protect the adults, that are part of the school system, whether they’re educators or other people involved in the school.
We absolutely need to be having widely available tests.”
Hayes: “So if Joe Biden were the President right now and had the resources at his disposal,
what would a plan look like for really focusing the nation’s power and governing capacity on getting kids in school as much as possible, as quickly as possible?”
Dr. Katz:
“So I think you’re absolutely right that since we’re behind the eight ball here, we have to play catch up.
And that means a federal, co-ordinated response at the every level. We need a national plan. Right now, counties and states at every level have had to iterate on their own plan. And the virus as we know, doesn’t stop at a state border. It crosses from community to community. And outbreaks can happen so quickly. We’ve seen how contagious this virus is. So a plan that would work well would be a national, co-ordinated response using all of the resources that a federal government can put behind an opening like this. Because this is the critical piece to helping our economy get back on its feet. And to helping ensure that our children get educated, which is such a critical piece of this moment.”
Hayes: “..I just read about a private school in New York that signed a very expensive contract with the testing apparatus, so they could do rapid-fire tests to get people in the school. We know that the data we have shows inequities between children from lower income households in terms of their attainment, declined more than affluent households during the quarantine. This is an enormous, enormous problem for the whole country that we’re seeing right now.”
Dr. Katz:
“Absolutely. It’s a huge issue of equity.
And we’re talking about the digital divide, we’re talking about exacerbating food insecurity. And we’re talking about prolonged periods where caregivers cannot go back to work because they’re caring for their children at home. It’s a huge issue of disparities. And you’re right that wealthier schools are able to pay for things like testing for their staff and students. And of course it also comes down to the infrastructures that schools have to keep their whole communities safe. And that means … students, that means social distancing, and that means of course abundant masks for children and their educators to have available.”
“I’m one of the pilots that got shot down. Our Commander-in-Chief thinks that makes me a loser.
He thinks the many friends I lost & soldiers I medevac’d were suckers.
This is disgraceful. @realDonaldTrump is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.”
(MJ Hager tweet)
Ms. Hager is thus someone Trump derides as a “sucker” and a “loser”.
Hager to Maddow:
“Thank you Rachel. It’s not easy to hear, to speak on TV after hearing these things frankly. I’m having a very physical and visceral response to the reporting. Because as a medevac pilot, I medevaced so many wounded, and dying, and dead patriots that have served this country. Both Republicans and Democrats – by the way.
This isn’t a political thing for me. This is about when our men and women in uniform put their lives on the line, when we put our lives on the line. We can only do so with a clear mind on the mission, because we’re trusting the people who put us there. And so for me this is not about politics – I would be calling out a democrat who said the same things. I’ve never heard ANYONE democrat or republican, say these types of things. But I think it’s especially critical when we’re talking about a Commander In Chief who has deploying troops at his fingertips.
Hager:
“It does put into context stories about things like stories about Russian bounties, and some of the foreign policy decisions. Like gutting the State Department, which is the frontline of military defense. Robbing from the military budget to build a border wall. So it does put some of these things into context.”
Hager:
“But it sounds to me like a highly insecure person.
Maybe it’s because I have toddlers. And so I’ve grown to understand how to recognize a bully and understand the deep level of insecurity that creates a bully. That’s what this sounds like to me. It’s somebody who is damn lucky that those of us who have put the uniform on to sacrifice for this country, have done so. Because that puts him in a position to have the freedom to make these types of statements. And the men in women in uniform will fight and die for his right to express his opinion? All we ask is that the people who send us into harm’s way are doing so with a clear mind and a true heart, and are doing it as a last resort. And are doing with a respect for the sacrifices that we make.”
Maddow:
“The profound disrespect specifically for the sacrifice, is the thing that I can’t get over here.
And Jeffrey Goldberg is a very good reporter. He says that he has 4 sources who heard the president say: “Why should I go to that cemetery? It is filled with losers.” Four sources in a separate conversation on the same trip heard the president refer to the more than 1800 marines who lost their lives at Bellau Wood, refer to them as “SUCKERS” for getting killed. And I know you say that this is not political and you would be equally critical of any democrat or republican who said things like this. I’ve just never heard a human being say things like this, in any context. The idea that the specific act of, like you, being wounded while serving your country. Or, god forbid, dying while serving your country – that makes you less, that makes you repulsive, that makes you unworthy of respect. This is completely foreign to any idea of human empathy, but also the range of emotion I can understand. Have you ever heard anything like it before?”
Hager:
“I feel that we should be asking a psychologist where this comes from frankly.
I think that it’s projection. I think that he’s been so rejected. We’ve seen him attacking transgender troops who are trying to serve our country, and acting like they’re not good enough. And I say that it has to come from a place where he knows he’s not good enough. He would never make it as a pilot. He would never make it shot down behind enemy lines. I won’t go into the details of the things that I think he would do under duress. But I will say that even though it isn’t political, you’ve mentioned something critical in your reporting which is that, and Goldberg did in his reporting, that he’s gotten away with it! He hasn’t been held accountable. Who is there to hold him accountable? It’s us Rachel. This is on US. This is a call to action for every patriot across the country to answer the call for god’s sake! And do something about this. Not only to vote, but to bring 5 people with you to vote. To volunteer for campaigns. To make your voices heard.”
Hager:
“We in the military are trained not to make our politics heard because we have to serve multiple parties, commanders in-chiefs. So it’s pretty extraordinary for generals to be speaking out. It’s difficult for me to run for office and make my politics known, because it’s going against years of training to keep my mouth shut about such things. But the time is now to stand up for the next generation putting on the uniform. And if we don’t send a resounding message that this is unacceptable and we send that message at the polls, we’re going to see that this is not going to be unique. Right now I can’t think of anyone else that’s done this. But if he gets away with this, we’re going to see more examples of this, I believe.”

Joe Biden just won the presidency when he knitted together, on the fly, all the strands that make Trump the most dangerous, unfit candidate in US history: happily letting his countrymen die, in war or in peace, of Covid or from foreign artillery, if it helps him personally. QED.
Tom Nichols, not a Democrat, and a professor from the U.S. Naval War College, just said on MSNBC – relating to trump’s comments about the military and the hot response from Joe Biden …
“That’s a reminder that Joe Biden, unlike donald trump, is a normal human being. He has normal reactions to things, and normal emotions. I think he spoke for a lot of people with that level of anger, because I think that’s how a normal person reacts to these kinds of monstrous comments.”

When asked IF the President could have driven to the Aisne-Marne Cemetery, this former official said confidently: "The President drives a lot. The other world leaders drove to the cemeteries. He just didn't want to go."
Regarding Trump's July 4th military parade, during a planning session at the White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of "wounded guys" "that's not a good look" "Americans don't like that," source confirms.
Regarding McCain, "The President just hated John McCain. He always asked, 'Why do you see him as a hero?" Two sources confirmed the President did not want flags lowered but others in the White House ordered them at half mast. There was a stand off and then the President relented.
Fox News confirms… (I cannot believe I’m retweeting and sharing this)
Two former sr Trump admin officials confirm .@JeffreyGoldberg reporting that President Trump disparaged veterans and did not want to drive to honor American war dead at Aisne-Marne Cemetery outside Paris.
According to one former senior Trump administration official: "When the President spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, 'It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker'."
This former official heard the President say about American veterans: "What's in it for them? They don't make any money." Source: "It was a character flaw of the President. He could not understand why someone would die for their country, not worth it."
I read the source a few quotes from The Atlantic article. This former Trump admin official said, "The President would say things like that. He doesn't know why people join the military. He would muse, 'Why do they do it'?"
Re: trip to mark 100th anniversary of WW I Source: "The President was not in a good mood. Macron had said something that made him mad about American reliability and the need perhaps for a European army. He questioned why he had to go to two cemeteries. 'Why do I have to do two'?"
President Trump's staff explained he could cancel (his visit to the cemetery), but he was warned, 'They (the press) are going to kill you for this'." The President was mad as a hornet when they did.
President will use today’s 5:00 newser to attack the Atlantic’s article, which he says is nothing but lies. It must be asked, of course, why a man linked with 20,000+ lies during his presidency continues to think he has any credibility
As schools reopen — virtually and in-person — there are still a lot of questions to be answered. So, let's talk about them.

I still think about this image regularly. Trump said to Myeshia Johnson, "[Your husband] knew what he signed up for." #VoteEarlyhttps://t.co/T2VyyhQy1E
To think this is the man all of GOP elected officials rallied behind, instead of removing him from office…. what does that say about them? That hate the troops too? Shame on you ol Moscow *itch.
I think PP’s supporters are a special kind of ppl. They deserve a medal or something but in the mean time I hope they are still donating money to build the wall which Bannon is or was overseeing:)
His cult definitely won’t move, but, hopefully, those eligible voters who didn’t vote last time will be moved to act. With massive voter suppression and apathy to overcome, it’s going to be a tough climb.
New @ACLEDINFO data show that while more than 90% of demonstrations since #GeorgeFloyd's killing are peaceful, they're increasingly met with violence by government forces, non-state groups, and counter-demonstrators across the #US.

Perspective: 93% of racial-justice protests that swept U.S. this summer remained peaceful and nondestructive. New rpt logs 7,750 protests 05/26-08/22 linked to #BlackLivesMatter movement in 2,400 locations across all 50 states and DC. Via @washingtonposthttps://t.co/UK6jA7y44q
The group identified ~220 sites where protests became “violent” (defined as demonstrators clashing w/police or causing property damage). Even in those cases, the upheaval was “largely confined to specific blocks, rather than dispersed throughout the city." https://t.co/GPKJpAYzsX
More than 93% of BLM demonstrations have been peaceful, yet 42% of population believe that protestors are trying to incite violence or destroy property. "Research indicates that this disparity stems from political orientation and biased media framing"https://t.co/wsZWqwRf37

Full Speech by Joe Biden Today.
Let’s hope so. VOTE!!! Your lives depend on it!!
We’re with you dear Joe.
Works for me.
Friday is here…as we live and breathe.
Love to all who mourn, and may their loved ones rest in peace without pain.

Dr. Biden is going to be such a great First Lady!
Perfect.
No doubt the jackass thinks they’re very fine people
To think this is the man all of GOP elected officials rallied behind, instead of removing him from office…. what does that say about them? That hate the troops too? Shame on you ol Moscow *itch.
I think PP’s supporters are a special kind of ppl. They deserve a medal or something but in the mean time I hope they are still donating money to build the wall which Bannon is or was overseeing:)
I think he just blew the make-up off the faces of the other guests.

I hope he’s wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is.

Rachel’s show tonight, segment in 2nd hour of show. Stephanie Wolkoff, ex-BFF of “Slovenia Becky” (aka Virus45-Wife), has receipts! And why she wore that disgusting jacket to tour caged children: “I don’t care, do you”. Ugly.
Note to your calendars: MSNBC, October 9 @ 10:00pm ET (it’s also going to be in theaters Sep 18th) 😷:

Morning everyone
Two young white children explained their food rations to a reporter, shown on tv. A certain amount they were allowed to eat every day and no more. To help their Mom stretch what the little they had across the week. They were thin and frail and so sweet. How that mother must feel. You send money and then wonder if it is received. We need a million Chef Josés, open the doors of all the closed restaurants to the hungry, and McConnell gone, gone, gone, gone.
New post.
