Plan to savor the tremendous success of the DNC convention, avoid the RNC, and write tons of postcards to voters this week. Who’s with me?

We all need to set aside our morbid curiosity and love of the surreal and NOT WATCH ONE SECOND OF THE SHIT_SHOW next week. DO NOT ADD TO THE VIEWERSHIP RATINGS! The many absurd, sickening and vomitous low-lights will available later.

It is a hard decision to make..to actually follow thru with…to have to leave your job…that you expected to retire from…it is not a easy thing to do…but i am sure that the folks at the FDA were watching what happened at the CDC..knowing that their time was coming

the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will stop the bleeding…but it will be massive undertaking to fix the damage that has been done at all the Federal agencies…

Acceptable loses to them because the majority are Black, brown and Native. All of the let’s rush to re-opening was all about the white view of “why should my life be put on hold because of these people?” Nothing happens in this country until large numbers of white people are affected by it, then it is considered an emergency. Black people always know that they are on their own.

Van Jones on Anderson Cooper today said that we should be watching the RNC convention so that we have an idea of what tactics the Repugs will be engaging in. Even if we have to fortify ourselves with pepto- bismal to get through the entire convention.

I still say no thanks. Ack.

    Good Morning, TODbots.

  27. August 24, 2020 at 11:11 am

VP Joe Biden accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination for President at the National Democratic Convention 2020.

  28. August 24, 2020 at 11:13 am

    VP Joe Biden:
“The tragedy of where we are today is it didn’t have to be this bad. Just look around.
It’s not this bad in Canada. Or Europe. Or Japan. Or almost anywhere else in the world.
And the President keeps telling us the virus is going to disappear. He keeps waiting for a miracle. Well, I have news for him, no miracle is coming. We lead the world in confirmed cases. We lead the world in deaths.
Our economy is in tatters, with Black, Latino, Asian American, Native American communities bearing the brunt of it. And after all this time, the president still does not have a plan. Well, I do.”

    • August 24, 2020 at 11:19 am

Over 176,000 of our fellow Americans are dead, and over one thousand dying every day.
Hayes described this incredibly compelling speech as an “unadorned”. We see vividly VP Biden’s competency and compassion and light. Meanwhile nada from the nation’s current ‘leaders’.

    • August 24, 2020 at 11:20 am

      VP Joe Biden:
“I understand how hard it is to have any hope right now.
On this summer night, let me take a moment to speak to those of you who have lost the most. I have some idea how it feels to lose someone you love…..I know how mean, and cruel, and unfair life can be sometimes. But I’ve learned two things. First, your loved one may have left this Earth but they’ll never leave your heart. They’ll always be with you. You’ll always hear them. And second, I found the best way through pain and loss and grief is to find purpose.”

    • August 24, 2020 at 11:21 am

Hayes: “Joe Biden provided the country with a public national moment of mourning,
directly addressing the many Americans who have lost loved ones in this pandemic, sharing his own loss and pain with them. Tonight, tonight we’re seeing the first visuals of a mass memorial, with 176,000 lives lost. Hundreds of people marching in the streets of cities like New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and San Diego on a day when more than a thousand Americans died from the Coronavirus again. This is the reality of the situation we are in and what we have lost. It does not have to be like this. We can still turn this thing around. And given where things are, that seems as compelling a message in the final stretch of this campaign as any.”

    • August 24, 2020 at 11:23 am

Ron Klain, VP Biden’s former Chief of Staff:
“I think people say that’s the best speech he’s ever given. I’ve heard him give speeches like that before.
I think what it was, was an authentically Joe Biden speech on the largest stage he’s ever had. I think what made last night’s speech so different from other speeches was the moment, the crisis we’re in as a country. The multiple crises we’re in as a country. And the fact that the America was looking to see if Joe Biden is the man to lead us out of those crises. And I think at that moment, at this time, I think him being himself, so authentically who he is, talking about the loss we’ve suffered as a country, talking about his toughness and determination, talking about the side he will choose to go forward with, the side of the light, and then talking about what we would do about these things. I think these were very authentically Joe Biden ways of talking about things. And I think it’s what the country is looking for now.”

    • August 24, 2020 at 11:25 am

Ronald Klain, former Biden Chief of Staff: DNC speech was “authentically Joe Biden”.
“I’ve known him for 30 years. I’ve seen Joe Biden do that time and time again when no one is watching,” says Ron Klain of Biden helping the young man with his stutter. “What I’ve loved about this week is that we’ve been able to tell those stories to the country at large, so they can see why so many of us who know him well love him so much.”

  33. August 24, 2020 at 12:12 pm

    Senator Maggie Hassan on Hayes:
Her takeaway from the DeJoy hearing on Friday:
“We have a Postmaster General who either doesn’t understand the impact of these operational changes he started about a month ago, or doesn’t care about the impact on real people in my state and all across the country. Who as you point out, depend on the Postal Service from everything from getting their medications to getting business supplies, or their Social Security checks. And as troubling, is that when we presented him with this information, he refused to actually reverse course at all.”

    • August 24, 2020 at 12:15 pm

      Senator Hassan:
“In my state of New Hampshire that is particularly concerning.
They’ve removed one of two sorting machines from our biggest distribution facility.
      Leaving us with just one.
      It broke this week.
      And that delays everything.
And so he is refusing to reverse course even when we tell him how it’s impacting people.
The other big take away was he said that they would prioritize election mail as we’re heading towards an election where record numbers of Americans would vote by mail, but he had no specifics about how he was going to accomplish this. So it was a concerning hearing to be sure, and we just have to keep after him.”

    • August 24, 2020 at 12:17 pm

Refuse to remove machines and post boxes.
Reinstall machines that DeJoy has removed.
      STOP DeJoy-Trump!!

PLEASE make this front and center news across our world.
Do these police officers have any children? Let’s have a look at what their families look like.
Our police system is total crap. We need a do-over. But first sling these people in uniforms into jail.
The murderous white police state has had a nice run and got away with it for this long.
Protest, protest, protest all the way for police reform and gun reform.
We are so done with U.S. police domination.

Who pays the hospital bills for the victims of police brutality? Who pays for their ongoing recovery, for the trauma, the disability, for the PTSD those children will have to deal with, the entire family? When police reform FINALLY becomes a serious concern, this is a factor to be considered, and ought to be high on the docket of accountability. This goes for any and all victims of gunshot tragedies. I have a candle going as well, it seems a small gesture, but it comes from the heart.

I am neither Christian nor overly religious. Though i do go to a church once in a blue moon to light a candle.

All I can say is, Jesus please help this man. (I don’t know what his condition is – read somewhere he is in stable condition).
I don’t have any comment apart from that. Just can’t.

Police officers rewarded with time off I see.
