    Really…who’s playing politics????

Kemp won’t even make statewide mandates based on the *WH Taskfore Reccommendations* (abdicating his responsibility to local governments) which include:

    • Recommend a statewide mask mandate for counties with 50 or more active cases to ensure consistent mask usage, as improvements are fragile.

    • Continue the bars closure in all counties with rising test percent positivity, increase outdoor dining opportunities, and limit indoor dining to 25% of normal capacity.

    • Expand the protection of those in nursing homes, assisted living, and long-term care facilities (LTCFs) by ensuring access to rapid facility-wide testing in response to a resident or staff member with COVID-19 with isolation of all positive staff and residents. Ensure social distancing and universal facemask use. Immediately conduct infection control surveys in all nursing homes with 3 or more cases per week over the last 3 weeks. Antigen testing supplies will continue to be provided by the Federal Government over the next 4-6 weeks to support LTCF testing.

    • Ensure messaging to all citizens to limit social gatherings to 10 or fewer people, even with family. Cases seem to be coming from within households. It is essential that all citizens are limiting gatherings and protecting the members of their households with

I would like for the NAACP to hold classes on Zoom to show people how the “food chain” works regarding Civics & State Government. Sadly my people don’t participate in local and state elections which benefits them the most.

Well neither does my state. Take at look at what the legislature just passed last week when they got called back for a “special session regarding COVID.” That was BS! They banned all protesting on state capitol grounds, penalty is both jail time, fine and losing the right to vote for SIX years. Yep, you read that correctly!!!! Lawsuits already in the works which means our taxes will be used to defend it. This legislature and this governor are BATSHIT crazy and it gets worse every day. ZERO leadership from the governor about opening schools. I could go on, but y’all get the picture.

Rev. Warnock appears to be the Democratic front-runner in this race. But there’s also Matt Lieberman (as well as some others). I hope the other Democrats in the race do the right thing for the party — the state and the country — and gracefully bow out and support Warnock.

This is a free for all so even if there is a run-off, it will be based on the top two candidates which could both be Republicans (most likely Loeffler and Collins…ugh) if the Democrat vote is split too much.

    Kristin Urquiza to Joy Reid:
“When my Dad came down with Coronavirus and subsequently died, I didn’t only feel grief. I felt intense anger. Anger that my father was not given a chance to be able to make sound decisions about how to mitigate risks because the airways were littered with either downplaying of the virus, or with misinformation. Such as the governor of Arizona saying that we were ‘on the other side of the pandemic, and that it was safe to go out, and go shopping, and go meet up with friends’. And so that’s why I knew I needed to speak up.”

    • August 19, 2020 at 12:56 pm

Reid: “Where did your Dad getting his information? Was he getting it from these just from these public officials or was it on line?”
“My Dad mostly was a cable news type of guy who read the newspaper, but then also was a big social media guy as well. So I think that this vacuum that was around him was really reinforcing these messages saying we were on the other side of the pandemic, and then being a supporter of Trump. We’re supposed to listen to our leaders in times of crises, and that’s what he did.”

    • August 19, 2020 at 12:58 pm

Reid: “You just said again that it filled with anger what you saw happened to your Dad. Because he didn’t have any pre-existing conditions. He should still be with you. You talked about him also going to a bar with friends. I don’t know if your family is still in any contact with those friends. Has your father’s passing changed their minds?”
“I know that folks in Arizona, my father’s untimely passing, have started to change their behavior. But I think the issue here is that individual behavior is not going to get us to the other side of the pandemic. It’s a co-ordinated, data-driven national response from the highest levels that we need to have in order to be able to make the decisions to keep ourselves safe.”

    • August 19, 2020 at 1:00 pm

Urquiza in a new ad: “My father like so many others, should not have died from COVID-19.
His death is due to the carelessness of Donald Trump, and the politicians who continue to jeopardize our health through a clear lack of leadership. Donald Trump is unfit for the presidency. That’s why I’m voting for Joe Biden, a real leader who will fight for…all of us.”

    • August 19, 2020 at 1:02 pm

Reid: “What would you say to him if you could have a conversation with the current president?”
“I don’t think Donald Trump cares about what any of us individually have to say. But if I could have a conversation with him I would say, “You are responsible for deaths of not only of my father, but tens of thousands of Americans underneath your watch. And you are unfit to be our leader. And you just need to go back to Mar-a-Lago…
People are increasingly becoming upset with the lack of leadership from Doug Ducey. He has still not mandated masks. Today he had a rally with president Trump in Yuma, which is disproportionately seeing the impacts of this pandemic. And it seems like they care…more about their political image than actually protecting people.”

Joy Reid suggests a Trump Crime Commission:
“During a discussion with former Obama Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes,
Reid pointed to the bipartisan Senate report that confirmed much of the Mueller report and verified Russians conducted election interference in 2016 as well as deep connections between Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and a member of Russian military intelligence. The report concluded the Russian meddling posed a “grave counterintelligence threat. “It strikes me in just reading through this that Paul Manafort did to the United States what he had previously done to Ukraine,” Reid said. “He had messed with their elections in the past in order to put a [Vladimir] Putin puppet in charge. And now you have a president who’s rumonating apparently on meeting with Vladimir Putin in New York has talked about putting him back in the G7 and seems to be doing everything — you know, if there was a Christmas list that Vladimir Putin would have put together, it couldn’t have gotten any better than what Donald Trump is doing.”

    • August 19, 2020 at 1:26 pm

“If Joe Biden becomes president,” she asked, “should be something like a Trump Crimes Commission. Should he empanel such a commission? And do you think that members of the Trump campaign including up to the president should be at least looked at for prosecution?”

    • August 19, 2020 at 1:27 pm

Ben Rhodes: “There is no question in my mind, Joy, that there has to be an accountability process if Joe Biden wins, to protect the integrity of our democracy,” he told Reid. “It’s not about getting revenge. It’s not about going after political opponents. That’s what Donald Trump does. It’s about sending a message that if you collude with, facilitate, coordinate with a foreign adversary and hacking private materials and releasing them that there are going to be consequences. Because think of the message it sends,” Rhodes added. “If you have this criminal enterprise behavior and this multi-year obstruction of justice. To this day, Joy, there are Republicans in the Senate, Ron Johnson, a Republican senator, is still laundering this Russian-created conspiracy theory that we learned that Ukraine was somehow behind the interference in the election. We deserve the truth about what happened and there needs to be accountability for the people responsible. We cannot just say we’re going to turn the page. We have to deal with this as a country. And so I really think it’s essential that we have some accountability process if Joe Biden wins the election.”

    Sally Yates,
Fmr Acting U.S. Atorrney General, fmr U.S. Deputy Attorney General:
“Speaking at a political convention is something I never expected to be doing. But the future of our democracy is at stake. I am here in my hometown of Atlanta, where as a young lawyer joined our nation’s Justice Department. For nearly 30 years, through democratic and republican administrations, I worked alongside my DOJ colleagues to advance our nation’s promise of equal justice. I served as Deputy Attorney General in the Obama-Biden Administration, and stayed on as Acting Attorney General for the Trump transition. Then ten days in, I was fired for refusing to defend president Trump’s shameful and unlawful Muslim travel ban. That was the start of his relentless attacks on our democratic institutions and countless dedicated public servants. Like me, these officials didn’t swear an oath to a person or a party. Public servants promise to defend our Constitution, uphold our laws, and work on behalf of the American people. But from the moment president Trump took office, he has used his position to benefit himself rather than our country. He’s trampled the rule of law, trying to weaponize our Justice Department to attack his enemies and protect his friends. Rather than standing up to Vladimir Putin, he fawns over a dictator who is still trying to interfere in our elections. He is even trying to sabotage our Postal Service to keep people from being able to vote. His constant attacks on the FBI, the free press, Inspectors General, federal judges, they all have one purpose: To remove any check on his abuse of power. Put simply, he treats our country like it’s his family business. This time bankrupting our nations’s moral authority at home and abroad.
But our country doesn’t belong to him. It belongs to all of us.
    Joe Biden embraces that.
He has spent his entire life putting our country first. He has never backed down from a challenge or a bully.
He summons the best in us. And lives by the values that define us as Americans – service, integrity, courage, compassion. There are countless stories of Joe Biden reaching out to someone in their moment of need.
Well this is our country’s moment of need. We need a president who respects our laws and the privilege of public service. Who reflects our values and cares about our people. We need a president who will restore the soul of America. We need Joe Biden.”

Voting by Absentee Ballot/Mail-in Voting does not allow for the hacking that most electronic voting machines are vulnerable to. It’s already been determined that Russia is attempting to hack voting machines; correct? If so, might that be a reason tRump is trying to obstruct and sabotage mail-in voting; to force more people to vote in person and thus manipulate the results due to hacking? Is that why he’s so keen on going with the vote count on election night because he knows that a plot is in the works that could impact the results in his favor? [Besides COVID-19, this gives me more reason to vote absentee and utilize the drop boxes.]

tRump has a habit of telling you what he’s doing. [What do they call it? Confession of Projection?] I don’t discount anything he says or does.

Eventually the early confidence he received carried him through to rare accomplishments. Bravo! With thanks to our FL for putting food for thought out there!
