To get around the paywall, go to your favorite search engine like Google, Yahoo, or Bing and put the article headline or just part of it in quotes (like “two black moms take their kids to the mall”). The search results will include a public access version of the article. I do it for WaPo and NYT articles all the time.
Thank you dudette, for letting us know about how to get around a firewall. I have seen other other ways to get around them, but this seems real easy. I do have an on-line subscription for the Washington Post.

As I explained the other day, I’m writing postcards out to send to swing state voters and ordered $70 worth of stamps from USPS online…. well, I got them yesterday and they had a handwritten Thank You!! With a smiley face. If you are able to help them out, it is appreciated and needed. Imagine life with no postal workers…and mail delivered
PS… the stamps are beautiful:) not the ones we get at the grocery. Really special works of art

I am having bouts of nausea just seeing that photo. OMG.
Me too. A friend of mine in a different county told me her son had to go back because some of his classes online are not offered online. He told her there have been very minor safety changes and only half the students are wearing masks. 😱
Oh, dear God, no.
Like lambs to the slaughter. Another friend said masks aren’t mandatory in her kids’ school district “and I’m sure after a few days only few will wear it.”
I just can’t even…
This is just so utterly unthinkable. I would never know how to cope with all that.

I guess they realized that trying to stop mail-in/absentee voting will also impact Republican votes…maybe more so. But it can’t be okay in some states and not others. It can’t be okay for one party over the other.

Someone on tRump’s staff have put together *pictures* that depict the Covid-19 numbers in a more “positive????” light.
How he can just gloss over the fact that 150K+ (~1000/day) is beyond me.
But rather than looking at what’s happening HERE…NOW, he likes to pivot with “but what about…” He can talk about what’s happening in other countries and try to spin it to make it seem like the US isn’t doing so bad after all. [That’s like talking about how well the stock market is doing to someone who is living paycheck to paycheck.] His spinning doesn’t help the families who have lost loved ones or who have loved ones who are sick and alone. It doesn’t help the businesses that are struggling because you know who doesn’t want to claim responsibility and doesn’t want to set any national mandates or use/apply federal resources except where he thinks it will profit him or aid him in his campaign. It doesn’t help teachers and students go back into the classrooms in an environment that is safe.
He doesn’t care.
