    ON JOY REIDOUT:
“Laurence Tribe says if a 2020 result isn’t decided by January 20, Pelosi will be president.”
“President Trump seems determined to sow confusion and chaos ahead of the 2020 election. Laurence Tribe says the president is trying to make the election ‘look chaotic’ and mentions a ‘fail safe’: President Nancy Pelosi.”
    https://www.msnbc.com/the-reidout/watch/laurence-tribe-says-if-a-2020-result-isn-t-decided-by-january-20-pelosi-will-be-president-89374789734

Trump trying everything to cast doubt, make the system look chaotic, but there is failsafe in each scenario.
Tribe saying the system will hold. Trump sowing division with phony claims, doing Putin’s bidding, undermining traditions and institutions. Saying ‘we don’t know who won’ will not work. That ultimate decision will be made by a NEW Congress. Plus Barr et al commit federal felonies if they try to continue.
At high noon on January 2020 if no new president..Pelosi becomes President.

      imo,
Let the children read whatever they want, whenever they want, let them play and play.
Show them the natural world (recommend David Attenborough series – you can leave out the creepy crawly CD!). And music and dancing. And creating any kind of stuff. imo our job is to give them love and happy memories.
All else will follow. School will be back some day and they will go back stronger. But for impoverished children surely we can choose to focus and figure it out? Feed them, put a roof over their head, pay their families. Lack of institutionalized schooling can work out very well for a well-heeled child. But for those without food and shelter
life is already a nightmare. Joe and future VP if you’re listening…now is the time.

          Thanks pw.
Yes we are all different and we all learn differently. We all need love and a positive environment.
Just want to add that my youngest demanded, demanded, we read very complex (scientific) materials to him from his very youngest years. He would cry until you did, and then listen intently to every word. He didn’t ask the meaning of the words when very small. But he wanted to HEAR those words and I believe all children do. And he had zero interest in reading until much later. He was so busy early on with his own projects, own thoughts, studying animals, music, and drawing – looked like a future ethologist.
All of that experience is within and he has gone on to other pursuits. His intellect is off the charts.
I believe we opened up those windows by simply doing what he asked when he asked.
Have said “he” but actually “they” are non-binary. An extraordinary human being.
I don’t have words for how honored I am to spend those years with them.

Joe Bide\n is doing well…his campaign is moving forward…creatively meeting the challenges…of having the campaign turned on its ear…by the corona virus..not being able to have a regular convention…despite that Biden message is breaking thru…

Trump cannot lay a glove on him…and Trump believes that he is going to lose so he is floating the notion of a delay of the election…

this is not to say tha DEMS are home free…but we are in a good spot…

    So ….

now we have this infighting going on about the VP pick…folks threatening to not vote for Biden if he does not select the person they think should be VP…

Have folks forgotten what is at stake here…

we still have to shore up the infrastructure for voting by mail…we still have to worry about the postal service…

Do we have time to infight about the VP selection…

NONE of it Matters if we do not win!

Jocelyn Benson, MI Secretary of State, is confident about mail-in voting in her state, and advises on how-to with states across the country. Recommends importing best practices from states like Utah, that have been 100% voting by mail. Meanwhile, Trump tries to sow doubt. On Hayes she said that 25% of Michiganders voted by mail 2016. In 2020 it is expected to be 71%. Ms. Benson says other states will go from 4% to 70% mail-in voting. Eh and this is what I love: There will be “guarded” drop boxes for voting mail all around MI state and it is fully lawful.
–Of course Trump is suing PA to stop the use of voting drop boxes.

    The $600 has expired.
No new rescue bill as GOP leaves town during worst economic crisis since Great Depression.
“I hear senators making $175,000 a year complaining that these ‘lazy workers are getting so much money.’”
Senator Sherrod Brown: “I can’t imagine they’re going to send kids back into this.”

“Donald Trump is a very obvious person.
He is the equivalent of a character in a comic book with a huge thought bubble over his head that everyone can read. But Trump goes even further than that. Because he has no internal censor,
Trump shares his private thoughts and impulses with the world without shame or fear of consequences.
Through his public behavior Trump has repeatedly shown that he is mentally unwell.
His apparent pathologies include malignant narcissism, delusions of grandeur, an attraction to violence, sadism, a lack of impulse control, utter disregard for rules and norms, and a pathological tendency to lie.
In sum, our president can be reasonably described as a psychopath or a sociopath.
The most recent examples of Trump’s mentally unwell behavior, among many include his obsession with his popularity and “ratings” when more than 150,000 Americans are dead from the coronavirus.
His easily-injured sense of self is more important than showing any care or concern for the suffering of others ”

“Kushner’s coronavirus team shied away from a national strategy,
believing that the virus was hitting Democratic states hardest and that they could blame governors”
    (report says):
–Some members of Jared Kushner’s coronavirus task force believed the pandemic would affect Democratic areas worse and may have adjusted accordingly, Vanity Fair reported.
–In March and early April, Kushner gathered a team to devise a nationwide coronavirus testing plan. A public-health expert in regular contact with the team told the magazine that “the political folks” thought a nationwide response was a bad political move.
–At the time, outbreaks were worst in Democratic-voting states and cities.
The source suggested that some close to Kushner thought it was best to hold back and blame governors.
–(The White House has refuted this source’s account, saying it is “completely incorrect.”)
–Kushner’s plan was indeed dropped in favor of a mainly state-by-state response.
–Since then, cases have surged in states on both sides of the political divide.”

That said, this may be a disturbing preview of things to come. Prepare for the slights, sneers and snide remarks about whomever the nominee turns out to be. Get ready to see her background and accomplishments diminished. The campaign will need to take this on directly and show they have zero tolerance for the double standard women have had to put up with for decades.

I remember this response when vandals defaced our forever president’s wall mural in Texas and it’s just as fitting here: ” THERE IS AN ENDLESS SUPPLY OF PAINT!!”

      —————————————————————–

Restaurateur: Obama mural is here to stay

By Robert Stanton Updated 5:51 pm CST, Tuesday, February 19, 2013

      https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Restaurateur-Obama-mural-is-here-to-stay-4291368.php

Houstonian Darrell James, a corporate recruiter who ate Tuesday at The Breakfast Klub, said he believed racism was behind the defacings.

“Should we fix it? Absolutely,” said James, of James & Jordan, the Houston-based management search and consulting firm. “But my thought is it’s just a sign, unfortunately, that racism has not left, and that it will always be here. The only way you can fight racism is with diligent persistence.”

“I don’t care what you think,” he said. “We’re going to continue to push on and move on. We ain’t going nowhere.”

The best way for us to honor John’s legacy is to embrace the message he hoped would outlive himself: that any one of us has the power to enact change. John was a once-in-a-generation hero and leader, but make no mistake—he believed more than anyone that the ability to change the state of things lives in the everyday citizen, and comes to fruition through the simplest of acts. John would have wanted us to honor his legacy—not with defeat and complacence—but with action. Passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act is a start. While we’re at it, let’s go further. Let’s make sure to automatically register every citizen to vote. Let’s give back the right to vote to the formerly incarcerated who have served their time. Let’s abolish the practices that intentionally make it difficult to cast a ballot, particularly in communities of color. Let’s roll back the Senate filibuster and end gerrymandering. These suppressive roadblocks inhibit the strides that John took for us. And while rectifying them may seem like lofty ambitions, John pulled us closer to their fulfillment, and together, we can continue inching forward. What made him so bold was his unflappable belief in progress. If you want to honor his legacy, make sure you and everybody you know registers to vote, votes early, or requests to vote by mail. That’s how we actualize the better tomorrow in which John was courageous enough to believe in.

Only one meaningful question – will enough folk awaken to the actual threat before 3 Nov to ‘turn the tide’ of the WAR?

Who needs Stealth Bombers & Submarines & …… when you can (and have) successfully deployed insurgents in five thousand dollar designer suits to destroy your #1 Enemy.

Definitely not Putin as he has proven beyond any doubt.

    Trump is just a tool.

He could drop dead and it would not interrupt Putin’s onslaught given that VP Pence was strategically inserted onto Trump’s ‘ticket’ by one of Putin’s exceptionally talented foot soldiers – Paul Manafort.

If you wonder why Paul hasn’t ‘spilled his guts’ … well, let’s put it as gently as possible …. he’d be worm food and so would his family.

I see, get you. The 1960s had to be an interesting time. Working class actors like Oliver Reed, Albert Finney, Michael Caine, Alan Bates became fashionable and wiped that plum in the mouth stuff away. Suddenly you could have a working class accent and play a more authentic Shakespeare. But seems like you had to be that rake, sexist, drunken bad boy to be in the top boys’ club.
