This is tantamount to Stone saying, ‘commute my sentence (to probation) or I will talk.’ If Trump now does so, it will be a corrupt exercise of the pardon/commutation power. NEW: It’s virtual learning for Atlanta Public Schools this fall. According to re-opening plan, digital learning will be in place for at least the first 9 weeks of school: https://t.co/Bf5M6gDiNU@wsbtv@apsupdate
I thought of you when I read the plan, I’m most concerned about the materials (laptops) that the students will need for virtual learning. There are a lot of parents that can go out and lay out hundreds of dollar for a laptop, I wonder if there will be any kind of assistance provided to those families and can’t afford laptops?
In my school and district, Don, we have a lot of chromebooks for kids to use during class. So, what we did when we went to on line school in March is we signed out chromebooks to all the kids who didn’t have a computer at home. They signed out over 300 of them, and got all but 12 back. We have a mix of kids in my school, but are in a well to do district, so those kids benefited from that.

Georgia corona virus numbers are spiking. Local leaders are trying to do things to flatten the curve. Kemp is pushing back.
What state restrictions? I'd they was working the curve wouldn't have had an upswing. Maybe the Governor needs to follow the lead of the mayor's from Savannah, Athens and Atlanta
Come January, President Biden’s Attorney General should challenge this as a corrupt and hence illegal commutation and seek to have Stone’s prison term reinstated. That’s certainly what I would do. https://t.co/WXDzTqJbXe
Silver lining? With Trump commuting Roger Stone’s sentence, he has either concluded he is certain to lose the election or . . . he may resign before the election (outside possibility though this may be).
I don’t think that there is a scenario in which he would resign. His only shot is to remain President just to hold off the dogs for four more years. The moment he resigns, the New York Southern District is coming for his ass. The moment leaks start coming out of the Whitehouse that Trump might be looking for the next President to pardon him for any crimes he may have committed, you’ll know that discussions are taking place. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if someone from Trump’s camp has already stepped to someone close to Joe and at least brought it up just to gage Joe’s interest. Not to be cynical but if I were Trump (And I’m glad I’m not) I would resign close to November. It’s obvious that Trump isn’t and hasn’t been up for the job the moment he spent his first night in the Whitehouse, and he knows it.

We are living in a mafia state modeled after Russia. The loyalists commit crimes and get rewarded, Trump and his Republican inner circle have looted our country while mass Americans are dying. The people protecting our country get punished, fired, harassed, and called traitors
For those like @realDonaldTrump who want to reopen schools without following @CDCgov guidelines on social distancing and masks, I want you to ponder this problem which may be replicated over and over again across America:
Q: “How are you making sense of the language from Trump, his Republican followers, the plutocrats and other gangster capitalists and their propagandists that people should be willing to sacrifice their lives for “the economy”?”
Q: “How have the American people been socialized into accepting the financialization of their lives and the misery it causes as somehow normal?”
Q: “Huge corporations such as Whole Foods, Target, CVS, Walgreens and others have created a perverse narrative where their “essential employees” are “heroes.” These are low-wage employees who are being exploited and risking their lives because most of them do not have a choice.”
Q: “What do you see when you look at these right-wing anti-public health coronavirus “rallies” In Michigan and other parts of the country with the guns and threats of terrorist violence, spurred on by Trump, the Republican Party and their media?”

What if Trump somehow wins the election? (sorry)
If so the information concerning his finances and Russian connections will be disappeared. Poof!
Barr has already successfully moved to take over all 3 SDNY, EDNY and D.C. offices doing those investigations.
This information is critical before the election and especially after – either way.
The courts must expedite that process.
Watching in slo-mo will not save us. We have no choice but to expedite.
With this commutation, Trump has again signaled that Putin can interfere in the 2020 election without fear of retaliation.

Roger Stone. Found guilty by a jury on 7 federal criminal counts. No jail time.
Kalief Browder. Accused of stealing a backpack. Couldn’t post bail. Spent 3 years at Riker’s awaiting trial. Ultimately committed suicide after released.
To state the obvious, does anyone doubt for a second that ole creepy Rog told Donnie Scumbag: “Don’t let me go to jail. I’ll sing like a canary if you don’t do something. Remember, I’ve known you for 30 years.”

In response to Trump commuting Stone sentence, Pelosi says the House will move on legislation to “ensure that no President can pardon or commute the sentence of an individual who is engaged in a cover-up campaign to shield that President from criminal prosecution.”

but any who…here we are in this continuous neverending battle to make America live up to the notion…that all men (women) are created EQUAL…..
Trump corruptly commutes Roger Stone's prison sentence. Can it be undone by the next president or the courts? We do NOT need to just shrug our shoulders at the Trump crime or abuse du jour. Here's one possible road map to justice. https://t.co/8Qeq8oQI90 via @YouTube
When Joe reaches the Whitehouse he’s going to have to basically reestablish our standing in the world. And fix our broken institutions, and hold those accountable that have wantonly broken the law. And his V.P. is going to have to be war-time consigliere in some ways, the President and V.P. are going to have to throw punches right out the gate.
My children will be attending the 2020-2021 school year from home with virtual classes online. You know who made that call? Me. Mom. Not DeVos. Not Trump. Me. Mom.
It's a sunny day in New Hampshire today. No #TyphoidTrump—and none of the bad weather he claimed prohibited him from coming here. The fact is, he didn't come here because his event was going to be a flop. And it was going to be a flop because Granite Staters *weren't interested*.

The war is over with Bernie – we don’t need or want this. Senator Sanders was on Hayes’ show July 8th.
Joe and Bernie are working closely together.
(from their conversation per MSNBC):
HAYES:
“I saw a poll today I thought was very interesting that showed I think it was 87 percent of Sanders supporters supporting Joe Biden, only 4 percent supporting Trump, and basically the picture it painted, and this is across the various candidates who were in that very crowded primary field, was a very unified Democratic Party, a very unified electorate in defeating Trump. Is that your sense of where things are right now?”
SANDERS:
“Absolutely. Look, I think every person who voted for me, and I think for the other Democratic candidates, fully understands that Donald Trump is the most dangerous president, if not in the modern history of our country, than in the overall history of our country, and that it is absolutely imperative
that we come together and defeat him, and defeat him badly….
I was glad to work with the vice president in forming six separate task forces which had some of the most knowledgeable people in the country coming together to deal with education and climate change and health care and economy and criminal justice and immigration reform….
But there was serious discussion, and I think a real honest effort, to come. up with a compromise.
And I think
the compromise
that they came up with,
if implemented,
will make Biden
the most
progressive president
since FDR.”
