I’ll never understand these gun nuts, I mean what’s the appeal of walking down the street with a gun or rifle strapped to your ass? I can’t name one friend in my entire life time that walked around with a gun or rifle. To me it is so un-macho, so fucking cowardly, so goddamn ridiculous. What is the point of doing it other than doing it just because you can? I’ll never be able to crack that code.

I’ll never ever understand the obsession with guns. I didn’t grow up with guns, I don’t live in a town where people walk around with guns or insist on brandishing them in public spaces, I don’t own a gun and would never live in or visit a home where guns are kept. That’s just me. But this gun fetish is a sickness in this country. A deep and widespread disease.

Please forgive the re-post, but I really want this message to spread:

One Act, more than any other has the potential to begin altering the endless denial of human rights to Black Americans and other POC.

It’s for WHITE Americans to make a commitment that they will not rest until the franchise is guaranteed and protected for EVERY American.

Any successful #ThirdReconstruction, and hope for #TruthAndReconciliation to yield tangible, sustainable consequences must be based on a rock solid assurance that EVERY American ‘owns the franchise’ to VOTE.

So, I’ve decided one way to catalyze the endeavor is to begin with a simple, firm meme – #GoThroughMe.

He walked the halls of Harvard, if only those walls could talk. As a student he probably had one of the biggest brains on campus, he had to, after all he was the President of the Harvard Law Review, and the guy graduated magna cum laude. An elegant man of high intelligence, I could imagine him having deep intellectual conversations with his law professors. Now with everyone pretty much at home and communicating through zoom or whatever. I love looking at the backgrounds, apparently everyone reads tons of books. But Obama, this guy sits in front of a almost empty white bookcase or something while everyone else wants you to know that they’ve read every book in the world. I must admit, John Heilemann has a beautiful kitchen, really nice from what I’ve seen. Anyway, what must Obama think of the current occupant of the White House that probably has never read a book about anything? Trump probably walks around his bedroom at night in his boxers cursing at Obama, “who the fuck does this guy think he is, fuck Harvard.”

Hah! Virus45 is probably running around in his cohorts’ knickers, in search of blowhard windmills! And said windmills are: Turn, Turn, Turn. Your damn season has expired.

Every day now is like a new opera, only real. Ever since George Floyd was murdered at the hands of the police, American is in a sort of rebirth, an awakening. Everything is being questioned, everything is being laid bare for all to see. America is closer than at any other time in history to going to a place that it has never went, and I love it.

If you have a moment, send great thoughts &/or prayers for my Mum. 💞 She’s 99 years living & is now in the hospital. One of these days, I’ll post her words regarding women’s rights, health, including teaching women in Southern Sudan how to simply grow food in sandy soil. (The harvest included the best sweet potatoes I’ve ever ate!) 💞💞

Free dumb, or something. We are free to die become he long longer cares about keeping the people safe. Those months at home were a damn waste! Keeping us away from our kids and shitting schools and keeping people home and out of work to bend the curve and slow the spread? A FUCKING WASTE! Because we’re moving on from this inconvenient problem now! I swear to god I hate these people with every fiber of my being. They do NOT deserve to make rules for anyone about anything!

I do not envy Tim Scott’s position, but now he has no choice but to ride it out. Sometimes I wonder what is more mentally damaging for an African American, is it the effects of PTSD bought on by living in a highly charged racist environment, or is it to have to convince yourself mentally that racism does not exist to the extent that those all around you say it does. You know, when you are lying in bed at three o’clock in the morning, there is literally no place to hide. Your true thoughts will come to the surface and there is not a damn thing you can do about it. Sometimes I wonder about the psyche of men like Senator Time Scott and Justice Clarence Thomas, are they so wedded to the idea that racism is not a hindrance, and is nothing more than a petty annoyance that can be brushed away like one would brush away a piece of lint? Day in and day out both Scott and Thomas sit amongst men that consider them at best a necessary annoyance, they must know this, they are not fools. Some reckonings are survivable, some aren’t.

Dudette, the interface with animals…makes sense. Chinese ‘wet markets’ may be at the root
      of the covid outbreak.
“Somewhat akin to farmer’s markets and found around the world, wet markets are typically large collections of open-air stalls selling fresh seafood, meat, fruits, and vegetables. Some wet markets sell and slaughter live animals on site, including chickens, fish, and shellfish. In China, they’re a staple of daily life for many.
More rarely, wet markets also sell wild animals and their meat. The Huanan market, for example, had a wild animal section where live and slaughtered species were for sale: snakes, beavers, porcupines, and baby crocodiles, among other animals.
Why “wet” markets? One explanation has to do with the liquid in these places: live fish splashing in tubs of water, melting ice keeping meat cold, the blood and innards of slaughtered animals. Another is simply that they deal in perishable goods (thus wet) instead of dry, durable goods.”
      (National Geographic)
–To be fair, I think China has tried to end the slaughter of animals, often exotic, at these markets.
