white people need to stop this. There have been too many reports of them being saboteurs this weekend at various marches and protests.

Your work as an ally is not to make problems worse for us. Black people are already dealing with a lot of shit and are suffering deadly consequences.

Your job as an ally is to listen, do the work that is asked of you, educate yourself with the plentiful resources readily available from people who do anti-racist work, put yourselves on the front line, donate to organizations, spread awareness and speak up online and your day to day real world.

This is not some goddamn festival, parade, or a fun time where you leave your suburban existence and wreak havoc for shits and giggles. This is life and death for Black people.

    • June 1, 2020 at 11:34 am

They are all stupid idiot racist punks.

Those images of cops kneeling with protesters is such performative nonsense. We don’t need you kneeling with us. We need you to stop murdering Black people.

The same cops kneeling today are the same ones who have killed us in the past and will kill us tomorrow.

Stop with your ridiculous kneeling and marching and surrender your weapons of war. Work with local and city councils to rein your obscene budget that does nothing to help protect communities and only empowers you to act with impunity. Call out your police unions for being nothing more than the KKK with different hoods. Hold your fellow killer cops accountable and stop taking taxpayer money to support their killings. Let the funds come from their large pension pool.

Work with local, city, and state law makers to create trained, fully budgeted, expert and community organized alternative teams and departments that the cops have no involvement with. There should be no reason why when social, health, and mental health services are needed, the cops show up, escalate the situation, and it becomes deadly.

Cops should never be equipped with military vehicles, military gear, and military weapons. They’re cops. They’re not in a bloody active war zone.

This and so many more policies need to be enacted. Until then, you can miss me with your bullshit.

“Mayor Melvin Carter of St. Paul, Minnesota,
talks with Rachel Maddow about hopes that the arrest and charges against the officer who kneeled on George Floyd’s neck, killing him, will ease some of the anger of protesters in the street,
and how the episode has set back efforts to build trust in police.”

“Those officers should be in jail.”
“We all know there were four of them involved and we want to see all four of them held accountable for their actions.”
“When something as agregious…something as blatant…something as obvious, and something as
well-documented as Mr. Floyd’s death…this has been happening for generations…this anger is boiling over…going to be hard for any American Mayor single-handedly to stop it outside of us figuring out as a nation not just the how people are protesting, but the why people are protesting as well.”
      (Mayor Carter)

    Angela Conley to Rachel Maddow:
Hennepin County Health and Human Services Committee Chair, Heading Home Hennepin Co-Chair,
Hennepin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority Vice-Chair.
She is tirst black woman ever elected to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners.
Representing George Floyd’s neighborhood, Ms. Conley lives 5 blocks from where he was killed.
    CONLEY:
“What we don’t need is hundreds of people being arrested, being shot at, because of the force that we see out there…the national guard and state patrol. What I am also concerned about is at the corner of
38th and Chicago…where George Floyd was murdered we have people who have been holding that space as a sacred space right now. Have been holding that intersection down.
These are people who are peaceful, who are there to pray, who are there to contribute to his memorial and to sing, and to meet people who come by. So there’s a lot of community building that is happening throughout the state, aside from what we’re seeing right now that I want to see protected.
Overnight all week, 24 hours, people have been protecting the space on 38th and Chicago and I don’t want that to be disrupted either. I don’t want to see those people face a police presence. Because so far there hasn’t been a police presence on that corner. And that corner is very significant to our community right now. And we want to keep it safe. We want to keep it that way.”

Adam Server (Atlantic, as received awards from the NABJ) talking to Chris Hayes:
Reminded us that when Trump told police hey, don’t bother treating your suspects nicely. And when Barr threatened us saying: Communities who protest police, risk losing protection. At the same time others are permitted to cross the line, while others dare not. Unequal treatment.
You have long guns at the WI state capital where unmasked hoodlums yell 6 inches from the faces of masked police, and these officers don’t make a peep. At the Bundy event protestors were on the hillside, snipers
with AK-15s aimed right at federal agents – the agents silently withdrew. Kaepernick’s protest was a thing of beauty. What we’ve learned is that violent or non-violent, no protest is acceptable.

Trump wants to be a “Strongman” in the vein of a Putin or any other brutal dictator that has dotted the world’s history. But to be a strongman you must possess that one undeniable trait that all strongmen have, and that is, you must be strong. At best Trump is a weak fool, at his worst he is a weak fool with power.
