Cops are murderers. You are not here to protect us. You are not here to look out for us. You are not here for our best interests. You are murderers.
My heart breaks for George Floyd’s family and loved ones.
I keep thinking how in the ER when someone rolls in gasping "I can't breathe, I can't breathe" we all jump to our feet and run to assess and help them. It's #1 and 2 of our "ABC's" – Airway, Breathing, Circulation – that comes before any other concern.
— Dr. Esther AT LEAST WEAR A MASK Choo (@choo_ek) May 26, 2020
"I can't breathe" is the last thing people push out before they are too breathless to say a single word. It's said with a gasp. It has a certain cadence and intonation. "I can't breathe" sets my heart racing like almost no other patient utterance, because I've seen what follows.
— Dr. Esther AT LEAST WEAR A MASK Choo (@choo_ek) May 27, 2020
"I can't breathe" from a person in distress makes us reach for the oxygen, the non-rebreather, the oral airway, the bag valve mask. Eyeball the crash cart, the boogie. Be ready to needle, to crich. Page X-ray, page RT. Every fiber of your being is focused on securing that airway.
— Dr. Esther AT LEAST WEAR A MASK Choo (@choo_ek) May 27, 2020
Everything else that was paramount a minute before goes away with "I can't breathe." An attending holding on the phone, your bladder is exploding, an angry patient wants a word. No matter. "I can't breathe" means drop it all, clear your head, go and fix it.
— Dr. Esther AT LEAST WEAR A MASK Choo (@choo_ek) May 27, 2020
I do not remember a time when "I can't breathe" was anything other than an elementally intolerable sound to me. No doubt my training and experiences have honed any instinct I started with, and shaped my exact responses to that signal.
— Dr. Esther AT LEAST WEAR A MASK Choo (@choo_ek) May 27, 2020
But it doesn't take an ER doc's ear to recognize that signal, does it? It's a fellow human in distress. Someone who has only enough air in his lungs to say one thing, who chooses those exact three words, "I can't breathe," surely everyone can hear what I hear in that?
— Dr. Esther AT LEAST WEAR A MASK Choo (@choo_ek) May 27, 2020
They won’t do this to armed white racists at the capitol. They won’t do this to Klan terrorizing Black people. They’ll do this to people protesting murder by one of their own.
Then people want to “well actually” when we tell y’all there are no good cops. They’re all evil.
I knew #GeorgeFloyd personally. So, the media can’t tell me nothing. When we did community outreach in the hood he was a “person of peace”. He wanted to see us come together as a people. They murdered him in the street. You see why #BlackLivesMatter has to be stated. This hurt 😢 pic.twitter.com/uwAH1ygiQX
I feel nauseous today and all the days we witness human beings being murdered and tortured and violated because of the color of their skin. Because so many Americans are sick with hatred, hollowed by racism and sociopathic supremacy.
It’s morning and we need some answers from @MayorFrey about the use of tear gas, flash bombs and rubber bullets by police in Minneapolis last night. Yesterday we welcomed clear talk & swift action in response to the video of the killing of #GeorgeFloyd. We need the same today. https://t.co/G3gyjb5xRx
you get to be mad. you get to be angry. you get to be outraged. you get to be mournful. you get to be saddened. you get to be hurt. you get to be confused. you get to be lost.
you get to take what you need, to be who you need to be, in this moment.
SCOOP with @srl: Honest Elections Project—a new 'dark money' group fighting to restrict voting before Trump's 2020 election—is actually a legal alias of Leonard Leo's 85 Fund, which is really Judicial Crisis Network's sister tax-exempt nonprofit rebranded https://t.co/0kfpc6ogqy
If I were in Minneapolis, I swear I would have been out on the streets, too. We just can’t take this anymore, as humans – much less as Americans. One loss of life is too many. And yet it continues for centuries in this country and in every country – the places and names change, but it’s the same. It continues.
In 2020, I still ask myself how can we get up every morning and act like it’s just a “regular” day, when none of this racism ever goes away. I refuse to call that “regular,” no matter the year, and no matter how old I am. I was in high school when Dr. King was assassinated. I feel the same grief today for George Floyd. Lots of things in between those dates changed, but the same grief remains, following each murder.
God bless Mr. Floyd’s family and all who loved him. Help them through the immeasurable grief. Give us the strength to remember each loss. Picture if it were your son.

Proud to do my part and ready to win. This is too big not to be in the arena, and I never back down from a fight. Thankful for this opportunity, @joebiden
That feeling of driving, walking, running in your neighborhood, etc, and seeing a cop car and your heart rate jumps sky high.
It is traumatizing. Black people are being bloody terrorized everyday by people whose salary we pay.
do you know how traumatizing it is growing up as a young black man in this country, when on a regular basis you see other black men being murdered? do you know what effect that has on your psyche? do you know that constant subconscious fear? do you know that pain in your soul?
Federal records show OSHA worked for six years to create new rules to prepare for an airborne infectious disease pandemic. The Obama White House formally added it to a list of regulations to be implemented in 2017.
If you believe in a more just, more generous, more democratic America, now is the time to fight for it. Here’s a terrific way to register voters, organize communities, and ramp up turnout in the battleground states that will decide this election: https://t.co/FmN8RCJymgpic.twitter.com/R5FZ6OBfxz

btw no such thing as race…only variaion and adaptation. This is an important moment and may it be LOUD.
What can a white person say of any value? Not much. But what I can say is there’s no such thing as race.
I love everything about this story — except the part where coronavirus took this amazing woman’s life — and now need many more photos of Ms. Wilson with her beloved animals. You need this in your timeline today: https://t.co/jPirTXgNHF
Non white cops to me are just cops. A part of a corrupt broken system that you chose to take part in and therefore I have no sympathy for you. Also why Basquiat's "irony of the negro policeman" is my favorite painting.

How many Amy Cooper’s do you have working at your company? In your community? How much damage have they done?

Some of y’all thinking you’re not an Amy Cooper are very much wrong.
— Franklin Leonard (@franklinleonard) May 26, 2020
I've met more than a few Amy Coopers who proudly claim to be liberal and progressive (especially here in NYC). They usually just need the right situation to reveal themselves.
I posted earlier about Campaign Zero, the campaign that Black Lives Matter developed in the early days of the movement… it is a very useful tool and strategy…..WeThePeople can use the tools of that campaign to concretely fight against the systemic police brutality that affects black folks no matter what community we live in…i saw a few comments on social media about folks feeling helpless and i understand that feeling well..but we are NOT helpless……. there are things that we can do..
My God…the fact that Keedron Bryant, a 12 yo Black boy so searingly sings about the trauma inflicted upon Black America & just wanting to live is haunting. Our children don't deserve this pain and this fear. #BlackLivesMatterhttps://t.co/OV3GMxRKaLpic.twitter.com/4u9LYWTmtC

We’re in the middle of a global pandemic — and not only is Donald Trump preventing people from getting the health insurance they need, but he’s also actively trying to terminate the insurance millions already have.
I bet that this whole mess that Trump keeps pushing re:Joe Scarborough comes from some conspiracy theory…Trump is an avid consumer of conspiracy theories …aka…drinking bleach..
Last year, I celebrated 50 years of Sesame Street with Big Bird, Grover, and the whole gang. This year, I am as proud as ever of @SesameWorkshop, especially as they provide new resources for families looking to encourage learning from home. https://t.co/zLs67Rpqgbpic.twitter.com/OdUF6cmiVe

SpaceX asked Class of 2020 graduates from around the world to submit there photos for inclusion in a mosaic that will be on today’s Crew Dragon launch to the International Space Station.
Here’s what the mosaic looks like.
If you go to the website, you can zoom in to see individual photos.
Depending on the flight profile of the spacecraft, a trip to the station can take several days to as few as 3,5 hours. The @SpaceX#CrewDragon will take 19 hours and six minutes to reach the station.
— Intl. Space Station (@Space_Station) May 27, 2020
Scrubbed launch for today. ☹️
Just think of it as dress rehearsal.
Standing down from launch today due to unfavorable weather in the flight path. Our next launch opportunity is Saturday, May 30 at 3:22 p.m. EDT, or 19:22 UTC
The world will have to wait a few more days to see NASA astronauts launch into space. Just 17 minutes before launch, #SpaceX scrubbed the mission due to bad weather around the launchsite and along the capsule’s flight path. They'll try again Saturday. https://t.co/rD7SQ7OstQ
Every scrub is a declaration that safety is a top priority. I’d always, always, always prefer a delay over an explosion.
My father, a pilot, always told me it’s better to be in the ground wishing you were in the air than in the air wishing you were on the ground. https://t.co/vkfDZgS9Xy
For those asking why they can’t extend the window – you have to meet the @Space_Station at both the right place and (importantly) time. Since you’re both moving objects that’s very hard to do!
Also maybe someone can confirm from @spacex or @NASA but I’d guess there may also be other constraints on this demo mission like wanting to launch in daylight or other similar things to maximize safety / visibility / data gathering
*whispers* If you’re frustrated by the delay, console yourself by recognizing the astronauts who had to wear “maximum absorbency garments” while sitting up there waiting
Yep, I was blown away listening to one of the speakers talking about the preciseness that must take place before a launch can take place. It has to be calculated down to the nanosecond.
Perhaps the media fails to grasp it because when you say that mail-in voting has a "high propensity for voter fraud" you're lying https://t.co/8pIqZ7Vza3
Bummer about the #SpaceX launch being scrubbed today. Something weirdly satisfying, though, about seeing scientists take in new data, making adjustments, and ultimately make the call for, and follow through on, being safe.
I was watching the entire thing on my cellphone, what tripped me out the most were the space suits. No more big and bulky space suits, these new suits look at though you can wear them anywhere. And the control panel inside the capsule doesn’t have joysticks and buttons anymore, the new capsule has touch screen computers. And the seats that the astronauts sit in look like seats that games sit in. Back in the day a big bus would take the astronauts to the launch site, but no, these two astronauts drove a Tesla to the launch site. I’m like WTF, that was badass. I might take off Saturday from work just to sit home and watch the launch (hopefully).
Yep I thought it was all pretty cool too. One thing that threw me was that one of the guys was wearing eyeglasses under his helmet! I was like 🤯 — I thought astronauts had to have 20/20 vision because of how prolonged lack of gravity effects eyesight. I guess they must have relaxed that rule over the years. Maybe it only applies to rookies. Anyway, I’m looking forward to Saturday. I hope Twitler doesn’t show up.
Dudette! Have loved sneaking a looksee for yr posts. Knew you’d be badass all over this. Thank you!
Virus45 better keep his blubber away from KSC on Saturday. He’s bad energy everywhere & for all. Weather dude said that there’s lotsa rain coming towards DMV from SC Friday-Saturday. Prayers that AF1 can’t take off, so Virus45 won’t be able to ruin yet another thing.😇
Lord have Mercy on us…i have been calling on the Lord a lot in the past few weeks…because we have lost 100,000 American people…and it is not just 100,000 individuals…it is their family, their coworkers and the community who are mourning their lost…….It is so hard for me…so hard…
One. Hundred. Thousand. Dead. Americans.
May God Bless and Comfort the families of all who have been lost.#Coronavirus
We’re in the middle of a global pandemic — and not only is Donald Trump preventing people from getting the health insurance they need, but he’s also actively trying to terminate the insurance millions already have.
Everytime I watched the video, I want to cry or throw up. I don’t know what punishment they will get, but it should be befitting of the crime they have committed. Too bad their mothers gave birth to these monsters.
There are moments in our history so grim, so heart-rending, that they're forever fixed in each of our hearts as shared grief. Today is one of those moments. 100,000 lives have now been lost to this virus.
It takes a real human being, one who is deeply connected to the human condition, to speak in this way. To express grief from the heart. To extend a voice of compassion. To offer a sense of hope, no matter how distant. This is what makes an ordinary person a leader.
Yes Kamala, 1st! But Elizabeth, Stacy, Val, Susan Rice would be great! Never a Klobuchar fan, but she did grow on me. Very smart. Independents? Fence sitters? Cross-overs?? Dammit!! It’s SO effed because WE MUST WIN. Life or death! It’s not like, oh darn we got Bob Dole.
WE CAN’T GO TRIBAL! “If VP isn’t blah-blah I just won’t vote.” NOOOO!!!!
WE MUST GET RID OF THE CRIMINAL CORROSIVE SCUMBAG!

So, after watching Lawrence tonight, on comes BriWi. Was about to switch off, but one of guests was Dr. Irwin Rediener, who proceeded to scare all bejesus outta every fiber of my being. NOAA has done a report that this coming season is going to be BADass weather. Add that to incompetent WH management of COVID-19. How are those in disaster areas going to deal w/ shelters, evacuations, etc. Dr. R. was urging Governors to start making contingency plans. In other words, FEMA won’t (my take, not his).
Jeez! Going to bed, cover my head, under my blanket, will see sunrise when I open one eye in morning! 👀😂
While GOP leadership apparently knew about the COVID-19 positive member a week ago, they only told GOP members to self-isolate. Dem members learned about it today from a reporter. They never even informed Dems who were in close proximity with him during Committee meetings. 2/
the last two months of quarantine—voting and participating in legislative business remotely—have taught me that there are some folks who just cannot be trusted with the welfare of our society: they don’t believe in science, scoff at public health directives, 4/
Every day, I pray for the safety of my family, my constituents and their families, for my staff, and for my colleagues. Too many of our family and friends and neighbors have died in this pandemic to take it anything but seriously. 6/
Wow the GOP has no decency. He needs to be charged and sent to prison. He was being deliberate with his intent to infect, I think. What a shameful human being. Is this how he was raised?
I’m hearing that tRump is “considering” moving the GOP Convention to GA. Then I see that the dumb@$$ governor made the offer. Doesn’t appear that Georgian’s for the most part are happy about that possibility. As it stands, Georgia is doing as well as it is IN SPITE OF Kemp. Local governments and citizens in general are making the common sense decisions to continue the social distancing, wearing masks, etc. [Although I did hear the beaches were overcrowded during the Memorial Day weekend. I wonder how many were from out-of-state.]
OH HELL NO!!!
Metro Atlanta businesses, people & local govt closed weeks before State government considered it. We are doing this right in spite of the state govt. We do not want thousands of people who don’t believe in science here. You are not welcome. 🚫 Go to West Palm!!
Fudging the numbers to bring in businesses. There is a reason why Governor Kemp's approval ratings are even lower than Trump's. Remember: Kemp is so stupid he didn't know asymptomatic people could spread the virus despite it being widely reported.
No Brian we the citizens do NOT want the convention here as the school year will be starting and all we need is more potential infections coming into Atlanta from all over the nation
— The Masked Purple Cow for Joe (@Bentelligence) May 26, 2020
AZ Governor said the same thing. What a slap in the face to all Arizonans that did the right thing and stayed home and stayed safe. Vote them all out. Our lives depend on it
So if he was being self-serving and doing nothing for KY, why did they keep re-electing him?
I would love to see a healthcare ad that includes McConnell (in his own voice) talking about his bout with polio and how his family almost went bankrupt getting him treatments.
There could be a whole slew of ads about the GOP under the theme of HYPOCRISY.

This is where Voting LOCALLY really matters…YOU and I can have an impact on the sheriffs and local police districts and the District attorney…
on many levels accountability has been written out of police union contracts…their contracts help shield them scrutiny of the public,,,
Campaign Zero..written in the beginning of the #BlackLivesMatter movement is still a great tool to use..
be a Voter who VOTES LOCAL as well
Right On..Right ON!!
*From the scrutiny
This is important. Police unions should have to pay for civil judgments. Police unions shouldn’t be used to protect corrupt and racist cops.
And Still I Rise
Thank you for this . Just hearing her voice is calming.
