I do believe trump plans by summer to hide all talk of coronavirus to give his supporters and the general public the false feeling it has gone away it was all a hoax and there will be denial of the true death toll, his maga supporters already believe everything he says its up to the media democrats and the medical profession to keep this out front in the public and not let him get away with this genocide

Maybe it was Rachel or then again it might have been Lawrence that had an article about how the two main AZ state Universities had experts volunteering their time on a project to figure out when was safest for them to open up their state again. Based on their report the AZ Governor announced they would wait until the end of May to start the opening. Then Trump went to AZ to tour a face mask production plant and met with the Governor. Suddenly the opening date is moved forward and the volunteer University experts have been sent a desist letter. Seems the data the Federal Government is using is different and not transparent. So what is currently happening with the Iowa and Arizona Governors with their states’ rising numbers of coronavirus cases and Trump talks with them verifies what you are saying.

“Awfully Close to Genocide by Default.”
“Yale’s Gregg Gonsalves said the approach came close to genocide.’
‘An epidemiologist didn’t hold back in his assessment of the U.S. response to Coronavirus on Wednesday.”
“How many people will die this summer, before Election Day?”

Fatal combo for the rest of us.
Doom in over his head…this is so beyond mob real estate crimes…but he is still doing the old routine:
Making other people do all the work (governors and mayors), then punishing them for it (sues, refuses to pay).
Never admits he doesn’t know something, cannot face the truth, so now fairy story he tells himself is Blowing Up.
Rather than die in jail Trump see his best way out is to let voters die.

“But when a president finds it necessary to revise a projected death toll five times in 13 days, there’s a problem.”

    Juliette Kayyem,
Fmr U.S. Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security:
“Trump will stop counting fatalities once the Task Force ends.
    “The numbers just got too big, once we passed 60,000.” This is a homeland security response in 3 key failures: ignoring the intelligence;
    inability to execute for the states;
and refusal to respect the dead.”

Thread on COVID testing. Good read. Good plan. Wish we had a functioning federal government..

  29. May 6, 2020 at 3:09 pm

On the Trump Administration violating their own guidelines.
CHRIS HAYES: “Everyone is just blowing through it at the urging of the president.”
    CONGRESSMAN CHRIS MURPHY:
“He frankly didn’t do anything to implement the plan…the plan says once you reopen you’ve got to adopt as system of testing, tracing and quarantine…well that doesn’t happen without an infrastructure, without staff,
without funding, and just since the plan was released the administration has had two weeks to work with Congress to appropriate money to the states, to local public health departments, to hire up workers who would do this. Instead they have resisted efforts to try to fund those activities. They’ve said that states should go bankrupt!
And so even since they released the plan, they have resisted any efforts to implement it.
And so it shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody that it didn’t work and that now they are left with only one option, which is to just go along with increasing tide being driven by Trump’s base, and open up the country too soon.”

    • May 6, 2020 at 3:11 pm

      Later on in the show…
Kathleen Sebelius, former United States Secretary of Health and Human Services:
“I have to tell you Chris, you and Senator Murphy are overly generous.
It didn’t take 2 weeks for the president to ignore the CDC guidelines. It took 24 hours.
The guidelines were put out. The following EVENING he began texting “Liberate” Michigan, “Liberate” Virginia. That was 24 hours after the CDC guidelines, which do make sense, were put forward.”

  30. May 6, 2020 at 3:30 pm

The incompetence, and rank corruption, is a fine feature, not a bug, of #virus45’s administration…

  31. May 6, 2020 at 3:41 pm

Hayes quoted this tweet by Charlie Warzel, (NYT)
“..the u.s. virus response feels so much like our response to gun violence.
seems easy to prevent! others have! but it’s not ‘who we are.’ a certain idea of freedom makes it impossible. so we move on and just learn to accept a level of human loss that other countries won’t tolerate.”
    Congressman Chris Murphy:
“On gun violence there is a really powerful political constitutency on the other side that we have to beat.
We know what to do, but we’re not willing to do it because of a political force that exists on the other side.
What makes the Trump administration’s lack of response so unconscionable, is that there
ISN’T A POLITICAL FORCE on the other side…There’s NOBODY STOPPING the Trump administration from following South Korea’s lead, there’s nobody’s stopping them from deciding to fund a testing, tracing and quarantine system, there ISN’T AN NRA when it comes to the politics surrounding this issue.
If Trump would lead and do the things that we know would get this epidemic under control, we could save thousands of lives. And that I think is the critical difference.”

  32. May 6, 2020 at 3:44 pm

    KATHLEEN SEBELIUS:
“Where the CDC is I don’t know but we need them front and center.
We should be hearing from the CDC who will teach us how to track and trace and identify and shut down the outbreaks of this disease. And from the NIH that will be at the front of vaccine development.
And right now the CDC is missing in action.”

    • May 6, 2020 at 3:45 pm

“Fauci is being gagged by our president, not allowed to testify in Congress…the American public will not have any faith in going back into normal society unless the scientists say it is really OK. And if Tony Fauci is gagged they will listen to their state and local Health leaders and health scentists.” (Sebelius)

      • May 7, 2020 at 12:01 am

What always moved me w/ Gabriel’s novels was his beautiful use of language & yet add these humorous nuggets in between disasters. Who the heck can produce a dastardly situation & make you laugh at human frailties, or misguided strengths in the midst of some terrible situation! His characters are so universal. You’re going to find family members (extended or not) right on those pages! 😇😂👀

        • May 7, 2020 at 12:45 am

I love author Gabriel Garcia Marquez! Loved “Chronicle of a Death Foretold”, exquisite use of language. Almost burst out laughing on metro ride to work one morning as I was reading! The characters could be straight out of of our home towns. Loved “Love in Time of Cholera”. What always captures me is that beautiful turn of phrase, universal characters, & fab sense of humor set in absurd circumstances. Quirky. Should one laugh or cry? Nah, laugh! 😂 You almost don’t want story to end!
