      This is soooo kool

    • April 20, 2020 at 10:35 pm

      FOREVER FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA:
“I’m excited to be here to join you all tonight for the kick off of our 2nd Voter Registration Couch Party…
(she thanks a long list of people involved, including D-Nice who will be playing a live set this evening, for his support, leadership, enthusiasm and hope).

      • April 20, 2020 at 10:37 pm

“I know this is an incredibly stressful and uncertain time for all of us…
I know it’s taking a toll especially on our essential workers and their families.
So I will join with Valerie once again to say to all of you out there, who are getting up every day and risking your lives on our behalf, working in hospitals, and grocery stores and driving public buses, and trains, providing so many critical services, I just want you to know because you can’t hear it enough, that we thank you. I am in awe of you all, and I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your courage and your sacrifice. You all are the real heroes during this crisis. And this country owes you a tremendous debt of gratitude for everything that you’re doing right now.
And the one thing I just want to say, I want to thank everyone out there for doing your part individually,
and the biggest thing you can be doing right now is staying home, staying home. And I know it’s not always easy, but it’s the least we can do in this time of crisis. So I’m glad that you guys are doing your part, but I’m also glad that we can come together to do the important work of strengthening our democracy through this virtual event, and there will be more to come.”

      • April 20, 2020 at 10:41 pm

“Now during the first party, you guys should know that you helped thousands across the country register
to vote while jammin out D-Nice. So tonight we are back at it!
We’re making sure every single American can cast their vote and make their voice heard in this upcoming election. As Valerie said, after what happened in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago, I don’t think you need me to tell you that this work is more urgent than ever before. As Valerie said no one should ever have to choose between casting their ballot and keeping themselves, and their families and their communities safe.
We don’t have to do it – I know that Barack and I, because of the positions that we’ve been in,
because of what we’ve done over the last year, we voted by mail for every election for the last decade.
So putting people in that position is unacceptable, especially when leaders like us don’t have to do that.
So we should make sure that that never ever happens again.
Voting should never ever be difficult and it should never be a partisan issue.
And this pandemic, this crisis that we’re facing is proving that measures like vote by mail, early in-person voting, and on-line voter registration, are not only long overdue – they are essential to the future of this democracy.”

      • April 20, 2020 at 10:43 pm

“And young people, you guys should be passionate about this issue.
That’s why I know so many of you are on this call, and are stepping up. You’re doing what has to be done. You’re having conversations about why voting is important for you and your friends and your loved ones. You’re sending text messages and emails, and you’re registering people to vote across this country! And we’ve got a lot of great heroes who are doing that work on this call right now.
I just want to shout out to Ryan and Javon who are high school students in Detroit.
I know you guys are on this call. You guys are working with your Superintendent, Superintendent Didi, and together you all have formed a My School Votes Team. I’m so proud of you for that work. And together you guys have set a goal of registering 100% of eligible students at your school, and you guys should be commended – that’s the kind of leadership we need.
We’ve also got Voting Squad Captains like Jasmine in Georgia. We’ve got Pat in Mississippi, we’ve got Cheri in Ohio. And all of these amazing individuals have created their own roving squads to help register their communities to vote. And we can’t forget the amazing organizations that are doing their part….”

      • April 20, 2020 at 10:45 pm

“Those are just some of the ways that people are stepping up and examples of what we can be doing their part even in this quarantine period to really draw attention to this issue. But we all need to step up and follow their lead. We all need to educate ourselves on our rights. Valerie just listed off a whole list of things we need to be focused on. Everybody should be aware of that, should be talking about it. We should be aware of the responsibilities that each of us has as a voter, and what that means to ensuring we have a democracy that works for all of us. And once we learn that among ourselves, it’s up to us to share information. Because you know that there are a lot of folks in our lives who just aren’t paying attention, and for good reasons. People are trying to keep a roof over their heads, they’re trying to take care of their kids and homeschool. So folks are not focused. That’s where you all come in.”

      • April 20, 2020 at 10:48 pm

“We need you to step up and have these conversations.
We need you to take this all to the next level. And talk to your families but also to push the federal, state, and local leaders to enact the policies that Valerie just talked about that will guarantee safe and fair elections, not just in this election, but in all elections in the future. If we all do this, if we take this seriously, if we understand that we all have a role to play in this, if every eligible voter in this country can make their voice heard, then there truly, truly is no limit to what we can accomplish in the years ahead. And for generations to come. Because in the end this is what this is about. It’s the future generations, our kids, and our grandkids, the country we are leaving behind for them. We’re making those choices today.”

      • April 20, 2020 at 10:51 pm

“So I want us to just keep going. I know we are talking to the converted on this call. If you’re on this call you already probably believe and are doing the work. We just have to keep making it happen.
So let’s get Couch Party 2.0 started, and let’s do everything we can for this country that we all love.
And from the bottom of my heart (and I kicked my husband out of his office, he is staring at me through the window, he is sending his love), just know that me and Barack, we are here. We are here and we are continuing to work for you, and we love you, and we know that this country deserves the best.
So now let’s step up and get it done! You guys have a great time tonight, and keep on working.
        Love you all, goodnight.”

      • April 21, 2020 at 10:14 am

That’s what some of the responses are saying: how great that a family that is so normal could be in the WH again. We’ve been dealing with such sick pathology every day for years now, along with all the symptoms of abuse, it’s an enormous welcome back to health. Not a moment too soon.

Good morning, TODville! “Life 101” doesn’t give a damn about CoVid-19… My sewer line clogged; water backed up and found it’s escape via the first floor shower drain; said water then flowed across the floor to the forced air heating vent. Today will be the third, and hopefully final day of having workmen in my house; so much for social isolation… When all is said and done, I will have gone thru a month’s worth of disinfectant!

Have a Blessed day and keep safe!

Thanks! Apartment living looks very attractive when these unexpected things happen. Truthfully, I just SMH and thank God I’m able to pick up the phone, call for help and not fret about possibly missing a meal. I’m Blessed.

Oh no!!!! So sorry to hear this. Peace and quiet would be great right about now!

      • April 21, 2020 at 1:28 pm

Thanks! You’re right, peace and quiet would be a welcome respite; but, there’s always something… I’m just thankful it wasn’t worse. I’m Blessed that my electrician’s #3 son was able to clear the blockage, extract the water, and demo the ductwork. His number #4 son helped me with the wet boxes – sorting, disinfecting, and repacking contents. This morning, HVAC guys called, then arrived an hour and a half early, they are finishing up now.
        I’m BLESSED!

I am so sorry about your problems. I am suffering a similar fate during Stay Home Be Safe. Saturday night when undressing for bed in my closet my feet were wet. After checking a few things I decided it might be a water heater leak under my carpet. The water heater is located in my manufactured home behind a panel in my bedroom closet. I found someone to repair it. So much for safe distancing when he has to show me the soaking wet floor and rotting wood under the water heater and the mold on the wall enclosure. So he has to check and repair the floor braces, insulation, and replace the walls on the other side and pull up the rug, on and on. I know where my stimulus money plus my savings is going now. The water heater warranty was only good for one year. My home owners insurance does not cover water heater damage or mold. So I feel you!

Tinkering around, somehow or other ran into this fancy paper (above). Be nice to understand the gorgeous squiggles at the end of the paper, fascinating. We know social media allows like-mind extremists to find their group voice and grow…must be all the same spending cabbage to Zuckerberg.

Maybe Trump’s base has been prepped to think they’re so rugged and tough and magic like Donald that they can ‘handle’ the virus. Plus everyone who dies is just a loser (sad!). Family and friends included.

  36. April 21, 2020 at 2:13 pm

Angelo Carusone (Media Matters) speaking with Hayes said that Fox News
is doing social distancing practices, while promoting protests against lockdowns.
How FOX paved the way for blaming governors (‘overstepping, unreasonable’)…
Timeline: Before April 10 there were 25 protests across the country.
April 7, 8 , 9 Carlson was calling heavily for an end to lockdowns.
Last week there were 87 Fox segments advocating for that.
Then Fox stopped saying ‘it’s OK to sacrifice lives for the economy’ and started saying ‘it’s not about the economy, it’s about freedom and liberty’. (default position).
Trump initially said he alone would make the decisions on lockdowns, then retreated, then authorized Governors to decide. Whereupon Fox suddenly started pushing for lockdowns, fueled by ‘outsourced’ misinformation which was repeated over and over.
Curusone broke down the formula: Fox creates the demand, fuels it with disinformation, and if you satisfy and promote it, they will reward you and bring you on the show and celebrate you. Magic.

  37. April 21, 2020 at 2:19 pm

TRUMP KNOWS by now the federal government should be in charge, but his longtime routine is:
Failed corrupt real estate guy gets first gets first dibs at what he wants = whatever cash from whatever deals.
(And he had 10 weeks to do some serious treacherous dealing.)
And then it is eff you, you are on your own.

    WILL NOT PAY!!
Contractors, laborers, major international institutions, WHO, rally costs, whatever, whoever….
June 2016: “At least 60 lawsuits, along with hundreds of liens, judgments, and other government filings reviewed by the USA TODAY NETWORK, document people who have accused Trump and his businesses of failing to pay them for their work. Among them: a dishwasher in Florida. A glass company in New Jersey. A carpet company. A plumber. Painters. Forty-eight waiters. Dozens of bartenders and other hourly workers at his resorts and clubs, coast to coast. Real estate brokers who sold his properties. And, ironically, several law firms that once represented him in these suits and others. Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. That includes 21 citations against the defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and three against the also out-of-business Trump Mortgage LLC in New York. Both cases were resolved by the companies agreeing to pay back wages…”
–Includes 5 chapters of details, endless lists of people unpaid.
–Meanwhile accuses others of not paying (NATO…fill in the blanks)
–Ties into his quid pro quos, withholding from Dem Governors, money laundering and tax evasion, making
money off tax payers, signing tax payer checks, the inauguration scam, anything, you name it, will take what
he wants and then screw you over, sue if you want to be paid, a dirty lifetime of mob mo now running this country.
