Good Morning Family! Thank you all for your words of comfort and condolence. I’m forever grateful for the safe and loving space the TOD continues to be. Thank you Nerdy! Thank you everyone! ♥️♥️♥️

Dudette sista, {{{{HUGS}}}} my prayers for you & your family during this time. Both of my parents died while I was in a different city/state but I found comfort in the conversation I had with them the day before they transitioned and I hope your cousins can do that too.

I remember your work friend and her husband and we mourned his loss and now she’s reunited with her love one.

May God keep them all in perfect peace ❤️💕

Thanks Carla. We’re hoping to do a memorial service for her sometime later this year. For now the funeral home is allowing close relatives to pay their respects 5 people at a time per day until they bury her on Saturday. 😞

    Love this.
When you have a confidence man in the WH who doesn’t look at worst case scenarios….
    Michael Lewis to Chris Hayes:
“If you’ve gone through your entire life with the sense that no what matter happens, no matter what the facts are, you can tell a story that is going to put you in a good light- it’s an unbelievable faith in narrative if you think
about it – it’s a faith that he has in storytelling that trumps the facts, that trumps knowledge, that trumps the truth. You can come in after the fact and invent whatever story you want and sell it – first to yourself, right – but to those around you. That is the precondition for this situation. That’s why he was able to ignore the Federal Government.
Because in the back of his mind is, whatever happens, I can tell a story.
And you can see it happening right? You can see it happening. And the story will evolve. And you can bet that six months from now, this two month period where they completely screwed up their response to this thing, we’re going to hear a completely different story about what actually happened.”

    Loss of sense of smell:
Could be a rough guide to mapping the virus in the absence of massive testing…
    Michael Lewis to Chris Hayes:
“Two leading British ENT doctors sent a letter to their colleagues saying look, it’s not only a symptom of the Coronavirus but it’s an early symptom, and sometimes it’s a symptom when there are no other symptoms. So the kind of people who might be walking around with it not knowing they have it, have this symptom —and it’s the loss of a sense of smell.
They spent a lot of time talking to doctors around the world. They did their best to grind some stats, they think that 30 to 60% of the people who get the virus lose their sense of smell, often early.
If you have the Coronavirus there’s a very likely chance this has happened.
In the absence of tests, without the testing, the big problem is you can’t analyze where the thing is going.
This might be a very crude substitute.
Both for people to self-diagnose and isolate, but also – and this is the idea of a former Wall Street risk manager named Peter Hancock – it’s a very good idea, that you can crowdsource this information. You get people to go on-line and say “I can’t smell” and that would first get people off the street who shouldn’t be on the street, and it would also give you a kind of population-wide map of the disease, which is what we’re lacking. And you know the fact that we’re lacking this data in this country is the most amazing thing, because we have been in every other aspect of our lives data-obsessed. Everything from baseball teams to political campaigns depend on the data! And we have a government that has failed to collect the data. So the idea is you find a crude hack to substitute for the failure of the federal government.”
–A crude ‘hack” to substitute for the failure of the federal government = fabulous.
–And is it a fact that women have the better sense of smell?

Advocating that we all wear a mask.
    Dr. Mukherjee discussed with O”Donnell:
The need for the general public to wear a simple mask when not isolating at home.
The doctor said that while the stringent N95 masks must be available for all healthcare workers,
(as an asymptomatic carrier) COVID-19 requires everyone to wear simple masks and wear gloves when outside.
He emphasized that if social distancing and hand sanitizing protocols are followed in conjunction with wearing masks and gloves, infection rates could be cut radically by 80 to 90%.
—Japan has just committed to providing every household with 2 free reusable masks.

I’m not sure that I believe he is just learning this. I find it even harder to believe that Dr. Toomey did not know this. But just like tRump, Kemp wants to pretend that even his “experts” are just learning information that has been in the media for a while.

Of course, Kemp has been trying to play both sides of the fence throughout this pandemic. It was okay to close schools and advocate for social distancing (things that were sanctioned by the WH). But when it came to shelter-in orders, he opted to play to corporations/tRumpers who were playing down the seriousness of the virus in favor of protecting the pockets of the 1%. Instead, he passed the buck to the local governments.

  25. April 2, 2020 at 1:29 pm

    btw,
I’ve instinctively covered my mouth and nose with a scarf and worn thin gloves when out shopping (rarely).
Even as I know a scarf will not protect against COVID-19.
A scarf will NOT prevent the droplets from entering your airways.
Trump is lying about the scarf and Americans must be clearly informed about this.

But it’s important to come to grips with the fact that he will always hit you again.”

Did you get a card in the mail headed: “(russian mob boss’s) Coronavirus Guidelines for America”.
Maybe we all received the same one.
The card says “Avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people.”
In fact the Governor ordered: “The Directive also prohibits all public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a household or place of residence.”
—Wrong instructions like these cause death.

Yeah, however, he did what he felt he needed to do to take care of his sailors. Sure he will sleep well tonight because he got his sailors the help they needed. He knew he was risking relief; however, think he preferred that rather than having to write a condolence letter, then have a line of duty investigation determine that he failed to do all he could to get help.

I’m curious as to why does Trump keep taking the covid-19 test, its like someone deposits one million dollars into your bank account and you constantly access your account online just to look at it. Either he tested positive the first time he took it and was asymptomatic, or he recently took the test again and tested negative.

    • April 2, 2020 at 8:06 pm

I don’t believe he’s ever taken the test. He’s just blowing hot air. He didn’t seem to know the specifics of the test when asked how it went. And he has no intention of anyone having any particulate of his DNA.
