Good afternoon, TODville! What a grand and glorious day. The sun has reappeared after a few days of cliuds and rain. My Mom’s small, independent pharmacist Blessed us with two of the three bottles of alcohol that she received this morning. Her normal shipment is 10 bottles a week; since COVID, she’s been ordering 20 and receiving three. Thankful that my Mom has been a loyal patron for 40 years!

Nerdy, once again, THANK YOU! 💖💖💖

Happy Census 2020 Day! Hope people will pay attention to it and get it done. Our libraries were all trained to assist people in multiple languages. Sadly, they’re all closed for the duration.

Nicolle Wallace just interviewed her. Lordy, it was blessedly reassuring and soothing. And at the end, Nicolle asked how she is spending her time. She said cooking and watching Tiger King……then she did her laugh. Just wonderful……good for my soul.

As she was answering Nicolle’s questions so carefully, thoroughly and concisely, I kept thinking “THAT is leadership.”

I had a tele-appointment with my primary car doctor this morning, everything went smoothly and she also has a wonderful sense of humor. I told her I get my temperature checked everyday at work, she replied “be careful where they stick that thermometer.” This tele-appointment thing should be considered going forward, only if its for maintenance purposes only. Every once in a you should go see your doctor face to face.

Hi Everyone! It’s been a horrible couple days for me. Yesterday my aunt in NJ who had been in the hospital for a few weeks passed away after receiving dialysis. She died alone because the hospital was on lockdown preventing visitors. She didn’t have the virus but because of it my cousins can’t give their mother a funeral. She was 83.
Today I learned a young woman who I mentored at work a few years ago succumbed to the virus. She got married to a fellow colleague (such a cute couple) and moved to the Seattle area not long after I left the company. He was taken from her last year in a car accident. Now she’s gone. She was 30.
I just wanna go pull the covers over my head.

“”Last week Trump was playing quid pro quo with Americans lives,
telling governors “it’s a two-way street. They have to treat us well.” The result of not doing so is not getting help. Take New York, which requested 30,000 ventilators and got 4,400. And is being outbid by FEMA on the private market, where the state has been trying to procure more. “What sense does this make?” Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters Tuesday.
“The federal government, FEMA, should have been the purchasing agent.
Buy everything, and then allocate it by need to the states.””

  56. April 2, 2020 at 8:58 am

“California got 170 broken ventilators from the national stockpile.”
“Alabama got 28 cases of face masks that had dry rot.”
“On the other hand, Oklahoma asked for 16,000 face shields and got 120,000. It had received about 84,000 N95 masks by the end of last week, “more than twice its original request.” Then there’s Florida, which is expecting its third shipment from the feds. It got 100% of what Trump’s good buddy Gov. Ron DeSantis asked for in the first two shipments.” (DK)
