FAUCI also saying the virus will very likely return in the fall or winter (via the southern hemisphere).
Optimistically – we’ll be better prepared by then and hopefully not caught off guard. (The 1918 virus hit the hardest on the return bout.) Another reason we must do everything we can to stop the worst today, now.

Tried 4 times to post today’s unbelievable NY updates….
Important to note: Governor Cuomo said NY is still three weeks out from the peak of crisis.
Cuomo is on the frontline of this war.
How about it VP Biden and pandemic czar Ron Klain?

    Some good news

  39. March 26, 2020 at 5:07 pm

    WARNED FOUR YEARS AGO.
“Obama Cabinet Tried To Warn Trump About Pandemic Preparations Nearly 4 Years Ago”
    Fmr DHS Sec Jeh Johnson:
“This pandemic we’re facing right now is a once in a century, unprecedented crisis, but not unpredictable.
And we’ve got a taste of the future with the ebola crisis in the fall of 2014. And so the risk of a lethal virus spreading globally like this has been something that has been and should be uppermost on the minds of DHS officials, health officials across the U.S. Government.
And, in fact, when the outgoing Obama administration cabinet sat down and met with the incoming Trump administration cabinet on Friday, January 13th,
one of the very few things we discussed was how to respond to a lethal pandemic like this.”

    • March 26, 2020 at 5:10 pm

      1) “He and his administration ignored the warnings about a potential pandemic from the outgoing Obama administration (four) years ago.”
      2) “Trump ignored warnings about the coronavirus from the nation’s intelligence agencies for months.”

    GOOD news:
“The good news for the country is that the state and local governments have the power.
Trump can tantrum, and whine, and hold press conferences, but he can’t force states to lift public health measures, because he sees his reelection campaign as heading for the dustbin of political history.”

I think I’ve been going to the Cheesecake Factory since the early 2000’s. Now comes word that they won’t be able to make rents payments for nearly all the their restaurants which is almost 300. My question is how does a company worth billions that make billions not able to make rent? It’s been about since the order was given to close all restaurants except for takeout and you telling me that these fuckers are about to go out of business? Who the fuck was managing their finances?

*It’s been about one week since the order was given to close all restaurants.

I am a cynic …. ergo I think this is might be about maybe squeezing something out of a bailout or whatever money they can get from the govt , I don’t know for sure but nothing would surprise me. Who knows?

I have never been to their restaurants and will never get a chance to, unless their closure is temporary.

You just might be right about the squeeze, it would make sense. I’m at a lost as to why they can’t make rent, or maybe they can. Maybe as you say, todjey, they might just be trying to get free money.

I just heard Stacy Abrams say “Democracy isn’t partisan. We are, we choose sides, but democracy isn’t so we need to ensure that everyone who is eligible to vote in November can vote.” So simple. She always is so straightforward. 💙her.

CBC news mentioned the US plan to deploy guards at the Canadian border.
I believe Trump mentioned something about trade / steel etc … in his press briefing.
CBC mentioned that the US is worried about infected folks from Canada going into the US.

To me, something just not right. I could be wrong of course. Just seems odd.
