“Trump needs to listen to the experts on Coronavirus.”
Chairman Schiff summarizes his conversation yesterday with Chris Hayes: “to discuss the ongoing debate over efforts to counter the economic impacts of Coronavirus, and the importance of putting American families and workers – not corporate executives – first. Congressional Democrats are pushing back against a $500 billion
slush fund that President Trump would control, with no accountability, and are instead advocating for measures that will help small businesses stay afloat and ensure American families have the economic support to weather this pandemic. ”

Why don’t they just let someone else interview him? 🙄
It used to be the norm that if the interview had a personal or business connection with the journalist, they’d assign the interview to someone else.

    How about this…
“Vladimir Putin himself has not been tested…
But the infection rate in Russia has begun to escalate even according to official figures, which some suspect are being massaged.
So despite President Putin’s characterisation of Covid-19 as something imported, a “foreign threat”, protective measures are increasing.
They include everything from border and school closures to a ban on mass gatherings.
But there’s no all-out order to stay at home and on Friday the Kremlin insisted that a lockdown for Moscow was “not being discussed at all”.
Many suspect the reticence is directly connected to the constitutional vote and a desire to secure Mr Putin’s route to re-election as soon as possible.
That process has moved so mysteriously fast from the very start it’s been dubbed a “special operation”.”

How often has trumpsky talked to poppa lately?
Their strategies mirror each other – e.g. claiming COVID-19 is ‘under control’ due to their ‘timely measures’, an attempt at ‘business as usual’, officials crossing their fingers that ‘everything will blow over’ and
Russia will be magically ‘spared the worst’.

When this is all over, I don’t just want him in prison, I want all his assets liquidated and the proceeds distributed to everyone he swindled, including the American people.

Trump foolishly suggests that the critical social distancing America is doing should end soon.
–forget who pointed this out yesterday…while Governor Cuomo is firmly shutting down his state, the idiot governor in Florida is in total Trumpistan denial = thus Floridians visiting NY are undoing Cuomo’s good work.

The name sounded vaguely familiar, I wasn’t able to tell where I heard it before. And then I looked it up, Damn! This song was both the prelude and the benediction all rolled into one. When the inner-city dj’s set up their wall of speakers at any park on any weekend, you knew Soul Makossa was coming.

My uncle in Australia mentioned this last week in a conversation with me … he asked “… are they going to shoot themselves if they diagnosed with the illness”. Is that why they are stocking up?
We both thought it was silly, but apparently the ppl who are buying don’t think so.

    PUT THE PEOPLE FIRST:
“Our job is not to enrich corporations, buybacks, but to protect the workers.” (Senator Sanders)
Like we’re not going to give the Trumpskies 500 $Billion to do anything they want with and no transparency!
Good to know Democrats in Congress are on it.

    Chef José Andrés the magnificent:
Talking to O’Donnell about the need for U.S. Congress to invest in the restaurant industry:
“We’re talking about this is a health crisis, this is an economic crisis, and we need to be talking that this is a humanitarian crisis, and we need to make sure that Congress is on top of this. Yes. As Congress is going to help industry to move forward, also industry can be a partner to the Federal Government to make sure that we take care of every single – every.single.person – in America in need of a plate of hot food.
You know, a Frenchman Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin in 1826 said “the future of a nation will depend on
how they feed themselves”. We need to make sure that Congress, through this idea that I am putting forward…America take care of feeding every American in need. Right now.”

“Georgia to mail absentee ballot request forms to all active voters”

All of Georgia’s 6.9 million active voters will be mailed absentee ballot request forms for the May 19 primary, a major push to encourage voting by mail during the coronavirus pandemic, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced Tuesday.

Voters will still be required to return their absentee ballot request forms before they receive an actual ballot.

Early voting and Election Day precincts will remain open.

The presidential primary will now be held May 19, along with races for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, the Georgia General Assembly and local offices.
