Good evening, TODville! We are now in a real emergency; just found out I’m out of KAHLUA! 😫

Going to try to approximate it tonight using rum an leftover coffee. If that doesn’t work, I’ll be at Total Wine when they open in the morning… 🤣

It was only “ok;” as I already have a milk and produce run scheduled for 0’dark-thirty, I’ll be at TW when they open.

Appreciate the supermarkets scheduling sr. only shopping times, but 6AM ? Damn that’s early…

Agree Jazziz. I don’t do 6 a.m. any more! Had to do it for years teaching. Now that I’m retired, 7 is about when I get up, then I have a rather leisurely morning unless I have a 10:00 appointment…..I certainly do not go shopping at 6 or 6:30. My physical therapy for my shoulder has been pretty consistently at 10 and only 15 minutes away. That gives me time to make coffee, check TOD, eat something, feed my dog, and get dressed. I am through with rushing!!!

Following up on my comment re: the National Portrait Gallery at the end of the previous thread, the NPG has a lot of really cool stuff on their website.

For example, this Look Together page:
    https://www.nga.gov/education/families/look-together.html

You’ll notice one of the pieces in the Look Together exhibit there’s a work by Alma Thomas, who’s work Mrs.Obama admired. Mrs. O placed a painting of Thomas’ called Resurrection in the White House family dining room.
    https://www.artnews.com/art-news/news/heres-a-photo-of-an-alma-thomas-painting-in-the-white-house-3942/

Also, this Recent Acquisitions page on the NPG website shows some amazing portraits you might find interesting.

BBC America is playing Elysium in the middle of a pandemic and economic crash.
CSPAN2 is giving MAGA jerk, Charlie Kirk, an hour to offer his thoughts on the new conservative agenda.
What is freaking happening right now?

I’m WORKING AT HOME like lots of folks and heard prez fuckface doin’ his corona lie-fest. Normally I’d switch the douche off ASAP, but decided to see how bad it would get. Did anyone else watch it? It was hilarious watching him blather the names of drugs over and over again. I’M SURE THEY MADE HIM PRACTICE. And he kept repeating it, like “I know medicine words. I have all the best medicine words.” It was pure SNL gold!!

I know it’s scary as sh*t but WE HAVE TO KEEP LAUGHING!!

    CA essential details:

The California State Public Health Officer and Director of the California Department of Public Health is ordering all individuals living in the State of California to stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to maintain continuity of operation of the federal critical infrastructure sectors, critical government services, schools, childcare, and construction, including housing construction.

This goes into effect on Thursday, March 19, 2020. The order is in place until further notice.
What can I do? What’s open?

Essential services will remain open such as:

    Gas stations
    Pharmacies
Food: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants
    Banks
    Laundromats/laundry services

Goodnight TOD … praying for all of you ….

Unfortunately, laundromats ARE on the Pennsylvania shutdown list. They shouldn’t be. Not everyone has in home laundry; this could exacerbate difficulties in maintaining good sanitation/hygiene, especially in the homes of the immune compromised.
