      Congrats! Now is the moment:
For Joe to come out and commit to the Inslee/Warren climate plan.
A majority of Americans want living wage ($15 is all right in MT but not on the east coast), free tuition however it can be done, healthcare coverage for all however it is done, help with student debt
      however it is done, etc.
—Biden imo can bring the Sanders young people over with clear, popular and obvious commitments that address their understandable fears about the future in a concrete way.

    What will Senator @BernieSanders
say in his 1 p.m. speech today after @JoeBiden
extended his lead, won black voters overwhelmingly and won big in largely white suburbs?

A source close to the senator tells me: “In summary: He looks forward to the next debate and we fight on.”

No surprise there! He (Sanders) will do what he can to divide the party and sow ill will. EGO is hard to reason with.

Where do people get the idea that Bernie will have some newfound graciousness all of a sudden. We saw what he did with Clinton. We saw what he did every damn opportunity to smear PBO. He’s not a team player and my bet is he’ll do everything in his power to keep the cash flowing.

      • 31 jacquelineoboomer
        March 11, 2020 at 2:21 pm

Totally agree (and I agree with other stuff you may be “holding back” !!). First Bernie doesn’t win the votes, then he thinks he can just turn up and be debate moderator. He will ask the questions. He says. Isn’t Bernie the one with the big ideas who never actually follows through with them as a U.S. Senator, like over the last four years? But Biden was working with PBO for eight years, helping to get done as much as they could each and every day (with zero RWNJ support) and Joe’s the guy who should be “questioned”?

        Kiss my grits, Bernie.

      • March 11, 2020 at 3:55 pm

I resent that the individual who is currently behind – and who is not even a member of the party – thinks that he can call the shots. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Rather than joining with other Democrats in unifying to achieve the first level goal of defeating tRump, he continues to attack and make demands of the front-runner and the party. Biden and his campaign know the issues that are of importance to working, middle- and low-income Americans. I’m sure they also are aware of the issues of importance to those in the Young Adult demographic and will address those as well. Honestly, the results of the past two primary weeks make me question whether Bernie even has the degree of influence he *thinks* he has.

Bernie believes that he will have an edge in a one-on-one debate. IMO, Biden will do better in a one-on-one setting, just as he seems to do well at town halls. In the midst of Sanders yelling and ranting and raving about all that is wrong and what should be done to fix it, I am hopeful that the moderators and Biden force Sanders to get into the details; especially how he is going to pay for all the “free stuff”… and he is proposing a lot of free stuff that will have to be paid for.

One thing to remember is that any Democrat that goes into the Oval Office will first have to repair and restore all the things that tRump has dismantled. All the things that we keep hearing will be done on day one will probably have to be [temporarily] postponed to deal with the immediate issues that will be inherited. Bernie wants to believe that people are voting for Biden *only* because they see him as being the best person to defeat tRump. He does not seem to comprehend that voters are also being realistic about what can be accomplished. That’s not to say not to aim for these things. Just be realistic in how far you can take it and be willing and able to make reasonable compromises.

Personally, I believe there are a number of Sanders supporters that are reasonable and will unite with the other Democrats in defeating tRump. But it will take more than Democrats to bring about this result. Independents and even Republicans will need to join in to bring about this defeat. I cannot see many of them willing to vote for someone as radical and uncompromising as Sanders.

        • March 11, 2020 at 4:57 pm

Thank you for your thoughts, swbluega. We are going to need to unite pretty quickly as it now seems everything is going off the rails.

Just worked up the courage to go grocery shopping. I bought enough stuff to hang in for the next couple of weeks. Wish I had a wine cellar. The grocery story was pretty empty but Walgreens was packed, even though they’ve run out of all the stuff everybody needs. It’s crazy.

Just got an email from Kamala Harris saying she’s going on the road to campaign for the Senate. Very smart move. I never doubt her intentions to make us a better country.

Furious over coronavirus fallout, Trump urged Mnuchin to push Fed chairman to do more to stimulate economy during explosive tirade

The president’s exchange with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, which came during an Oval Office meeting on Monday, reveals how furious he has become about the stock market’s rapid descent. He had complained about the Federal Reserve for years, but his efforts to apply pressure behind the scenes have been closely held.

I am thinking about the many (mainly rich people) who have consistently said that is did not matter what Individual 1 does as long as the market and their investment or 401K were growing.
